Spring is Here ???????

Oh how I wish I could really say "Spring is Here!"  But as I look out my front door this Saturday afternoon ... I see nothing but snow, snow & more snow.  And yes ... it is actually snowing AGAIN!!!  So, since it is snowing, I have no choice but to stay indoors and play with paper & ink!  Oh wow is me!!  LOL!!!

(click for a larger view)
Looking through a few challenges that are out there to play, this card came together.  I love these Sugar Nellie images and since I don't use (or have) Copics, I don't feel my coloring is as good as some others but hey ... it is what it is!!  I do love this new technique where you cut out a portion of your image and slide the Nestabilities die in behind before cutting it out.  I really like the look of part of the image extending beyond the cutting line.

Here are the challenges this card satisfies today:
Inky Impressions #30:  Think Spring
Inspirational Card Sketches #55 - Sketch by Dawn B.
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday - SPARKLE
Crazy4 Challenge - Three Textures
Stamp Something - Recipe (designer paper, buttons, ribbon)

For the sparkle on my card, I have used Tiara Stickles, Red glitter ribbon & Teal glitter ribbon ... both from the Flower Factory.  I wish I could get a better photo of this ribbon ... it is REALLY SPARKLY!!!  I also colored the little girls clothes & the flowers using Gelly Roll Stardust Glitter Pens (again with the camera angle, uugh!)  Tiara Stickles was placed in the centers of all the flowers as well as the centers of the buttons and around the half moon panel.

The three texture portions of my card comes in the form of the Cuttlebug swiss dot embossed panel ... the grit of the sparkle ribbons and the embossing from the Nestabilities panels.

The designer papers used are from various Stampin' Up designer paper packs. And, my lovely sentiment is an Integrity Image from my friend, Joni!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Stay warm, stay safe & above all, stay happy!!
Life is too short to be anything but happy!!

Saturday Spotlight - Do Some Cleaning & a DT CALL

The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to go the opposite from last week's challenge and clean things up a bit on your creations!  What does that mean?  You can make a nice CAS style card (meaning 'clean & simple' style), or make sure you have clean edges and paper for your creation.  Please interpret this how you'd like!

For our Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

(click HERE to go to store.)

**One lucky winner from our challenge in Mister Linky this week drawn from random.org will receive a special code for a $10.00 shopping spree at Whimsie Doodles Stamps!** (Now that is worth putting a card in for!)
If you know me at all, you know that CAS is not necessarily "my style" ... I prefer layers, ribbons, bling, flowers ... well, you get the idea.  So here is my interpretation of CAS ... hope you like it!
Isn't this little gal adorable???   The image & sentiment are both from Whimsie Doodles and so "ready" to be colored.  I chose to use both Prismacolor Markers and Prisma Pencils/Gamsol for my coloring.  My matting is really eggplant purple although I can never get a good photo of anything purple, GRrrrrrr!!

Okay ... now it's your turn to create and share with us over on the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.  Remember to use the keyword SSHP20 when uploading to other online galleries such as SCS, PCP, etc.  I can't wait to see what you create!

If you need further inspiration, please be sure to check out my Co-Divas ... links are provided for your convenience below:

The snow has stopped & so will I.  LOL!

I've created one more card today which satisfies the requirements of two challenge ...

This card came together quite quickly.
Here are the items used in its creation:

Stamps:  Great Impressions

Inks:  Versafine black, old olive
Accessories:  Lattice panel - RAK from Lana (Blest with Stamps)
Green Leaf vine - RAK from Terri (Terri's Cards 'N More)
Nestabilities (long rectangles), sponge, Basic Grey half pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope the weather is pleasant where you are located but for those of us who have more winter weather ... please stay safe & warm!

Rosie D's "Friendship" Challenge

I warned you (lol) ...
Here's my 2nd posting today.

The challenge over on Rosie D's blog is all about FRIENDSHIP.  I had this 6x6 piece of Crafty Secrets Pastel designer paper cut out ready for a creation and thought how cute it would be with the Wink Wink Ink Button Bear image.  My sentiment is also from Wink Wink Ink ... it comes along with the "Falling  Apart" image.
The only additions to this adorable designer paper, besides the cute little Button Bear image are the baby buttons, Offray pink satin ribbon and a lattice border (Martha Stewart) on the sentiment panel.  Pretty easy peasy ... yet so, so cute!!  Oops nearly forgot to mention I did my coloring with Prismacolor markers.

Okay ... after a bite of lunch, I'm headed back to the crafting cave!!  The snow has slowed down a bit ... that's a good sign!!  See you later!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge

It's still snowing here in NE Ohio,
so I'm playing the challenges!!

This creation was made for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge which is an "open" theme this week.  I had some of my Wink Wink Ink images colored so thought I'd try to incorporate them into the cards I'm working with today.  Isn't this little piggy cute ... she's called Rosie.

As you can see, I was also being adventurous with the positive & negative panels of my Nestabilities.  I wish you could see this card IRL because there are little details that you just can not pick up on with the camera.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  SU So Very
Papers:  Whisper White, Old Olive, Salmon, K&Co. designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Wink Wink Ink digi image,SU watercolor pencils, blender pen,  Prima flowers, Making Memories brad, Fiskars postage stamp scissors, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Tiara Stickles, Nestabilities scallop oval, detail clear ep, Signo white pen

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Just a warning ... I'll be back with more cards!  SORRY ... that's what happens when it snows all day and I can't get out and SHOP!!  I have to stay in and PLAY ... what a shame!!  LOL!!

Raise The Bar Challenge #7

Happy Friday Everyone!!

It's time again for our Raise The Bar Challenge!  Today we're playing with "3's Company" ... no, not the TV show starring John Ritter ... but instead we are using groups of 3 on our creations!  i.e.  3 ribbons, 3 dps, etc.
For my creation I have used 3 different base papers and 3 flower groups.  My image is another beauty from Art Creations Friday.  It is actually a sepia toned image but I have added color using the ZIG photo twin markers then based my card colors around it.

All items used on this creation are as follows:
Stamps:  Endless Creations Inc.
Papers:  Chatterbox designer paper, old olive, whisper white, rose red, Basic Grey "sugared" designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  ZIG photo twin markers, Art Creations Friday, Prima flowers, Kaiser half pearls, Wright vintage lace, Martha Stewart border punch, gold Pilot marker.

Please don't forget to check out my co-bartenders for more inspiration on this "3's Company" challenge. You can find their links here:

Anita ... Sparkle ... Suzi ... Audrey ... Joni (Head Bar Tender)
I want to thank all of you who have been participating in our challenge!  It's wonderful to visit your blogs and be inspired by your creations!  Thanks so much for joining in on the fun!!
Please stop back tomorrow when I will share with you my creation for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.  Until then ... stay safe, stay warm and keep crafting!

The Play Date Cafe

Today's challenge over on The Play Date Cafe is a 'Color Splash' challenge ... inspired by the photo to the left.   'Color Splash' is simply black & white with a 'bit' of color.  I've always liked black & white with a spot of red or yellow ... but I'm really liking this color and couldn't wait to see what I could come up with.

I decided to again use an image from Shabby chic papirskatter ... a wonderful new vintage blog I found that has some fabulous images to share!  Thanks Heidi!!

Other items used on this creation are as follows:
Stamps:  AMuse
Papers:  Tempting Turquoise cs, Whisper White, Basic Black & Foof-a-la designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Petaloo silk flowers, Doodlebug sugar coated brads, Waterfall Stickles, Turquoise Spica pen, Hobby Lobby organza ribbon, Bow Easy, JoAnn's lace

I actually have shades of turquoise and aqua on this creation but I think it works!  After getting it all together, I kept thinking the bow up in the right corner needed "something" ... but since I already had it adhered, I wasn't sure what I could do!  Then it came to me, I just added a touch of "waterfall" Stickles on the knot for a little touch of sparkle and viola!!  Perfect!!  (please see inset for closer view & click for an even closer look).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm busy working on projects and waiting for this terrible snow storm that is supposed to be coming our way!  Boy, I sure hope they are wrong ... I don't want any more snow!!   Have a great day everyone.  Please don't forget to stop back tomorrow for our next RAISE THE BAR challenge!  Hope to see you then!!

A 4" Double Dog Dare Challenge

Morning everyone!!  There is another snow storm on it's way so I'll be spending most of my day in the Crafting Cave trying to get ahead of the game on my DT creations.  But before I head that direction, I wanted to share with you a personal challenge I have going on with my friend Lana Edwards (Blest with Stamps).

Last week Lana emailed me and asked if I had seen this adorable Note Card Holder over on Laurie Schmidlin's blog (Just Give Me Stamps) and attached the link.  Well, after seeing it, I just had to give it a try ... and just for fun, I put the CHALLENGE out to Lana that we would make them ourselves but not post them until we both had them completed!  Well, she immediately emailed me back with "YOU'RE ON!!"

My problem came when I realized I didn't have any 4" envelopes then I thought "why not make my own"?  I have the new Martha Stewart score board (purchased from Joan's Gardens) and it has the envelope template included so after some measurement recalculations ... I was successful.

I decided to use the DCWV Le Creme mat stack that I've had for several months to create my set.  I love the fact that some of these papers are beautifully flocked and just perfect for a little set like this.  Now mind you, I hadn't yet shown this set to Lana ... but when I went East on Tuesday to get my hair done at my sister's shoppe, I took some cards & this set along to show her and one of her customers bought this set on the spot!!  Yea, how cool is that ... and few of my cards too!!    I used the SU Toile Blossoms (retired) to adorn the sides of the envelopes which were made using SU Very Vanilla cardstock.

NOW I HAD A DILEMMA ...  My sample set was gone and I hadn't shown it to anyone yet!   Guess I needed to create another set so I would have it to show Lana and the others I thought might be interested in purchasing them as gifts.  So quickly yesterday morning (I was going to meet Lana in the afternoon - yikes, better hurry), using the same paper pack, I created this set.

We were actually headed to Hollo's (a fantastic paper company in Brunswick, OH) to purchase 4" envelopes along  with other cardstock and envelopes we might need.  And, since my mother has ordered five 6" Easter Easel cards, I was able to get the envelopes for those as well!  We are so fortunate to have a store like Hollo's so close (within 30 minutes) to home!

This time, instead of decorating the side of the envelope front, I used the left over strip of designer paper to decorate the back flap.  I really like how it turned out and I don't think that's going to be any problem for the post office!  DO BE AWARE!!!  If you make & sell this set to anyone ... alert them that there will be additional postage because they are square cards.  Yes ... an additional 20 cents!!  I know, that's really steep but they are also perfect to include in a little gift you are handing to someone ... then you don't have to worry about the postage!
Sorry for the long post today ... but, I just had to share this adorable set with you and tell you about the "Double Dog Dare" to my friend Lana.  Be sure to pop on over to LANA's BLOG to see her set and also the original idea found on LAURIE's BLOG.
Have a great day today and for those of you expecting this next round of snow accumulation (like myself) ... please be careful out there clearing your sidewalks & driveways!  Try to stay warm ... heck, just stay indoors and craft ... that's what I'm going to do!!!   Happy Day Everyone!!

BEWILDERMENT!

I was headed to my crafting cave to make something pretty to share with you, and on my way I looked out the window to see this view.  Unfortunately several of the robins few away before I was able to get my camera and get a picture.  BUT, you get the idea here!!   It is snowing again (lightly right now) and as tired as I am of all the cold and snow ... the robins seem to be very bewildered as well!!!
I actually think I saw one of the robins put his little wing up in the air when I said out loud to myself ... "raise your hand if you're tired of snow"! LOL!!  Have a great day everyone!  I'll be back later with something other than snow to show you!!

Crafty Secrets Challenge

Today's Crafty Secrets Challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers is being hosted by Marcy and she has asked us to "think Spring"!   Well, that's exactly what I've been think about a lot lately ... but I'm afraid it's a little premature to expect 70 degree days and flowers popping up! However, I have seen several robins around lately ... so that's a good sign!!!

Speaking of robins ... this beautiful Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps robin image works perfect for our challenge today!  I have used Crafty Secrets Radiant designer paper and SU garden green cardstock.  The embellishments consist of Wrights antique lace and Colorbok silk flowers w/brads. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Well I'm off FINALLY getting my hair cut/colored at my sister's hair salon (an hour away)!  Some of you may remember ... I've been trying to get my hair cut for 3 weeks now and each appointment day ... it SNOWED!!!  Well, snow or no snow ... I'm determined to go today ... wish me luck!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #42 & an HONOR

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

It's time for another Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge ... and as always, the sketch was a real "challenge" and how much fun is that!  Don't forget ... if this appears too difficult for your style ... be sure to pop on over and check out their more "simplified" version of this sketch!
I have again used an adorable image from the Shabby chic papirskatter site for this creation.  I based my color scheme around this sweet hat and if you look closely the dress this little cutie has on is purple.

Items used on this creation are as follows:

Stamps:  The Stamp Pad Co. sentiment
Papers:  SU Groovy Guava dp, Creative Memories Perfect Fit Purples dp, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Wrights vintage lace, Prima flowers, Fiskars decal scissors, Hero Arts gems, Signo white pen, Darice lilac gingham ribbon
Technique:  faux stitching

Thanks for your visit!  I hope you enjoyed your visit!!

Edited to share with you the honor I received for my card from last week.  It was chosen as one of the  "Midnight Madness Remarkables"!  How cool is that!  I am so honored!!!

Whoo Hoo ... I have EXCITING NEWS!!!

Yes ... I have EXCITING NEWS on this rainy Monday!!   I was just informed that I have been chosen to be on the very 1st WINK WINK INK design team!
What an amazing group of ladies on this team ... I can't wait to get to know them and be inspired by their style!!!   You say you're not familiar with Wink Wink Ink ... well, please pop over to the blog, check out Melanie's images and place your order!  You not only get a b/w image to color in yourself ... but you also receive pre-colored & transparent images with your order!  How cool is that!!!   In fact, the following are a couple of samples (using the pre-colored images).

How cute is this little guy!!  This image is called "sleepyhead" and as I said previously ... this is a "precolored" image which I printed, cut out and continued to create.  The background paper is from the DCWV Baby Boy pack and the sentiment is Inkadinkado.  I've embellished with Offray antique blue satin ribbon.  The use of the Bow Easy helped to make this perfect bow.

This fun image is called "falling apart".  And along with this image you also get 2 sentiments.  What a deal!!!   Here I simply printed it out, used the Out Of Bounds with Nestabilities technique and created this cute creation.  The background paper is DCWV and I have cut the flower out of a scrap piece of Daisy D's designer paper and added a touch of sparkle with Tiara Stickles.   (click on image to enlarge)

Thoughts of SPRINGTIME ...

Good Monday Morning To You All!!!

More snow is expected today but I'm going to "think happy thoughts" and create with "thoughts of SPRINGTIME"!

My creation for today satisfies four different challenges!  I'm not as good at combining challenges as some of the ladies out there in blogland, but I do the best I can, LOL!!

The sketch comes from the PCP sketch challenge for this week (SK022010), the theme of SPRING is for Stamp Something, CCEE Stampers is looking for something SWEET and using a CHARM is requested over on Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday.

Another Shabby chic papirskatter image was used for my focus panel and it just made me instantly think of Springtime!!  Here is a list of all the items used on this creation:

Stamps:  Stampin' Up "So Very"
Papers:  Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Crafty Secrets "Radiant" designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Image from Shabby chic papirskatter, Nestabilities classic & scallop circles, Michael's satin ribbon, sponge, Bow Easy, Making Memories heart charm, Prima flowers, Basic Grey brad, Kaiser pearl

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed your visit!!

Crazy 4 Challenge ...

My second post for today is a creation for the Crazy 4 Challenge (C4C25) which is a sketch challenge this week.  This is a very talented, fun group of ladies and I'm sure they would love for you to stop over and give their challenge blog a try!

I've taken a few liberties on this card but stayed pretty true to the sketch!  Again my images (music & little girl) are from the wonderful new blog I've stumbled upon called Shabby chic papirskatter ... out of Norway.  I just can't get enough of these images so forgive me if you see a few more cards made using them over the next day or so!!

(Click on Image for Larger View)

Isn't this image adorable!!  And I just LOVED the sketch layout!  My pink background designer papers are by Daisy D's and the cardstock used are Stampin' Up Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Old Olive.  I have used Ranger Vintage Photo distress ink for my distressing and Prima flowers/Stampendous Diamond Dots for embellishment.  A touch of faux stitching with a copper glitter pen helped to add more vintage flair!  My sentiment comes from the Crafty Secrets/Clear Art Stamps Mini Memories stamp set and was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Versafine Sepia ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Follow your Dreams ...

This card was created to satisfy two challenges ... The Play Date Cafe Challenge this week is to use the colors Red, Brown & Linen ... and the Flutter By Wednesday's Challenge, to add Hearts along with your butterfly, angel or fairy.

My image comes from a blog I stumbled upon while blog surfing.  The blog is called Shabby chic papirskatter.  Heidi is the lady that owns this blog and I believe she is in Norway.  She has some amazing images to share and you will be seeing more of her images in my next few postings.

Recipe for Creation:
Stamps:  Crafty Secrets (Mini Memories)
Papers:  Very Vanilla, Real Red, Basic Grey (Bittersweet) designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black, Ranger Antique Linen
Accessories:  Image from Shabby chic papirskatter, Martha Stewart heart punch, Nestabilities classic heart die, Wright vintage lace, Fiskars decal scissors
I'm very happy with the outcome of this creation and I hope you find inspiration from it too!!  Please stop back later for another challenge card.
