Playing the challenges ...

... with a couple *Winks!!

Happy Saturday Afternoon Everyone!!

I've been busy in the Crafting Cave creating for my design team obligations and also for a few fun challenges.  Today I'm joining in on the BIRTHDAY challenge over on Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday and the Practical Scrappers Challenge to use MARKERS.  Both of these creations are for upcoming birthdays, so this challenge came just in the nick of time!!

This first card is A-2 in size and the main image is from *Wink *Wink Ink and is called Owlfie.  How cute is this little guy!!   The inside verse says:  "Better than counting the years ... is making the years count!"  Such good advice, don't you think??  Here are the details on this card:
Stamps:  Wordsworth, SU Touch of Nature, Wink Wink Ink digi
Papers:  Whisper White, Basic Black, K&Co. Ancestry dp
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Fiskars border punch, Detail Clear EP, Darice paper petals & brad, Creative Memories corner rounder, Creative Memories fine tip black marker for FAUX Stitching, Prismacolor markers

My second birthday creation is a Gift Card Holder and also showcases a *Wink *Wink Ink digital image called Jewel.  Since this is for a child and her favorite color is purple ... I thought this would be perfect!  Jewel is really PURPLE although my camera like to turn my purples to blues!!  Uuugh!!!

I am finding it harder and harder to buy for kids these days (including my own), so I thought a gift card was my best bet!  The added touch of Stickles gives that sparkle every little girl likes and now that I look at it closer, I think I'll add a little Crystal Effects to the "gem" ... she'll really like that!!
This was simple enough to create just by using a piece of  8.5 x 5.5 white cardstock which I scored at 2" from one end and 2.5 " from the other end.  The 2" end, with sides held with redline tape, makes the slot for the gift card.  The measurements came from my friend Joan (Joan's Gardens) who recently created a GORGEOUS gift card holder using Graphic45 designer paper.  Here are the details on this creation:
Stamps: Wink Wink Ink Digi, Stampendous
Papers:  Whisper White, Colorbok designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Prismacolor markers, Inky Dinky purple Drops, SU border punch, Purple Stickles

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope to have something new to share with you again tomorrow!  In the meantime ... enjoy your weekend and Happy Stamping!!

  3. Both cards are so cute...love the gift card holder. I didn't realize how simple the folds would be. I will definitely be using this one because it seems I am giving alot of gift cards these days. I know it seems impersonal but money is tight and I hate to give what won't be used. Have a great weekend.
