Jonathan is now a TEENAGER!!

Yesterday was our grandson Jonathan's 13th birthday and although the party was small ... it was a lot of fun!

As I told you in past postings, his grandfather & I spent the day Saturday looking for that "special" bike for Jon and he was THRILLED to receive it!
He is very competitive (even with himself) and loves doing "tricks" on his bike!  His 10 speed is not designed for such things and his little bike has become "too little".
Jon has been riding his sister's 18 speed bike and was pretty brassy to announce to his sister that his new bike was 21 speeds!!  (Boys!)  So he talked her into racing him around the driveway a few times and it was histerical to watch these two being silly!  Did I tell you how competitive Jon is??

Jon had two requests for the food being served at his party ... 1st was the "Cookie Cake"  (instead of your traditional birthday cake) and 2nd was to have "Taco's in a Bag"!
What is that you ask ...well it was new to me too but it was really quite clever & good!  You mix up all your fixin's like you would for tacos then instead of putting it on a plate, you open a "personal size" bag of Doritos and add everything inside the bag!  The kids LOVE this style of dining!!  LOL!! (sorry no photo)

The party was an outside gathering of friends and since his dad is in the process of adding on a large garage behind the existing garage, we just all sat outside by the grill so the guys could come eat when they took a break from working.

Jon's parents bought him a new Basketball Stand/Hoop & Ball and it started getting dark before they could get it all put together.  The days are getting shorter and when you don't start the party until late afternoon, you run out of daylight quickly. (Notice the large flashlight in daddy, Frank's hand.)

Unfortunately Jon didn't get to play basketball last night but I have received word this morning that the hoop is all put together and he's enjoying it today ... in between doing more tricks on his bike!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN!!
LOVE YA
