An 'ALTERING' Challenge . . .

Remember a week or so ago when I shared this 'gold treasure box' with you and told you that my friend Lana Edwards  (Blest with Stamps) and I had purchased them at the Good Will store ($2 each).  Well, the reason was to challenge each other to ALTER them in whatever design style we chose and keep it a secret until they were done and we could share the fun with all of you.
WELL . . . TODAY'S THE DAY!

Here's how I chose to alter mine using Graphic45
Le' Romantique designer paper.

I actually created this with my Mom in mind.  Her 82nd birthday was January 27th and I filled it with a variety of greeting cards for her to use throughout the year.  She always chooses my cards that are created in the 'vintage' style so I was sure she'd like this idea.

My mom still enjoys dancing and singing ... hence, the focus image used on the top of the box.  All the images are from the same designer paper.  I have used images from both the 12 x 12 pack and the 8 x 8 pack.

There are 2 paper doilies under the focus image.  Why two?  Because I inked what I thought was a single doily using SU groovy guave ink ... but when I glued it to the lid, the dampness made it curl showing me there were actually two doily's stuck together. So I 'off set' them and used them both.
Gems and Prima flowers were added for dimension.

This was so much fun and I can't wait to pop over to Lana's Blog to see what she did with her "gold treasure box".
She's VERY TALENTED so I'm expecting to be inspired!!
Gee ... I wonder what we'll challenge each other to alter next??  LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I would LOVE TO HEAR what you think about this project and personal challenge idea!  I hope you'll take a moment and pop over to Lana's Blog and check out her creation.  She shared a sneak peek with me last evening ... want to see??

Now that you've seen how much fun we had with this project, why not give this challenge idea a try with one of your crafting friends?
I will warn you ... it's ADDICTING!!
But SO MUCH FUN!!!
