Inspired by a friend and fellow blogger . . .

. . . who was inspired by another blogger who shared her inspiration and directions to create 'A Card In A Box!'  That's right ... and of course I had to give it a try!!!

Oh Sorry, excuse my manners!
Good Afternoon Everyone!
I'm just so excited to share this creation!

Check this out . . .
(Warning!  Photo heavy post!)

Is this absolutely awesome or what!!!!
My friend Diane (Nellie's Nest) shared her 'card in a box' HERE with me, and of course, being the good friend she is, shared (more like a challenge I think, lol) the links also.  Knowing good and well that I couldn't pass up giving it a whirl!

so, do you want to try one yourself??
Awesome!  Go HERE for the printed tutorial and
for the video tutorial as well!!

I will admit, I sometimes have a difficult time following printed instructions (I tend to over think things ... or I just let my Polish ways get the better of me, lol) so the video was a great help!!  I guess I'm more of a 'need to SEE it done' person.

You could create these boxes for ANY occasion and there's even space on the back panel for a note or stamped sentiment (see photo below).   This extra panel is also what gives the back panel more stability.

NOW, how about this fact ... it lays flat for mailing!  Mind you, if you have decorative elements outside the 'box', as I have, you'll probably have to make your own envelope which is certainly easy enough if you own the WeR Memory Keepers envelope punch board.

It's a little difficult to photograph, but I hope you've seen enough to be inspired and want to try it for yourself!

And if you need more picture inspiration, there's a Pinterest board with a collection of various 'card in a box' themes.  Check it out!  So many talented people out in blogland!

  16. This is a stunning project! Such layers and layers of gorgeousness! Besides the incredible structure, I also really liked the eclectic elements you combined. You included vintage, retro, modern and elegant components and they all work together beautifully. Perfect color palette and the whole thing is totally out of the box (no pun intended).
