Sisterhood of Crafters - Single Layer Cards

Hello All!
Yep ... it's time once again for another challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.
Today hostess is Micki and she is asking us to create

SINGLE LAYER CARDS

Now mind you, I'm one for all the fuss, muss and layers so this was truly a challenge for me!  But I did my best and here's what I have come up with:

I decided the best way for me to create such a card was by playing with my ink & stamps.  Something I haven't done a lot of lately due to all the amazing dies, stencils and paste out there on the market today!  LOL!!

And, I decided while I was getting 'inky' I'd make more than just one card so I have TWO to share with you today!  This first card was simply created by sponging 'swishes' of Tim Holtz Distress inks across the card front then stamping my old Stampin' Up stamps over top to decorate.  I've then used Spectrum Noir markers to color in my flower.  The inside was finished off with the coordinating SU stamp and a scrap of pink cardstock die cut oval that was in my stash.

I love how this 2nd card came together.
I'm working on some card sets for an upcoming craft show and thought something like this would make a nice set.   I used a larger piece of white cardstock to create my 'stencil' by die cutting one of the larger Spellbinder Scallop Oval dies.  The same Tim Holtz 'picked raspberry' distress ink was used on my stencil as well as sponged around the outside edge.  A little 'faux' stitching was created with my Tim Holtz fine tip black marking pen.  I just love this sentiment stamp ... it is by Verses Rubber Stamps.

A few challenges to share in:

A Random Fan Challenge #14 - Bright Colors
Cards and More - Clean and Simple
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #35 - Clean and Simple
Inky Chicks Challenge #37 - Stitching (faux or real)

I must end by saying this was truly a LOT OF FUN and I think I'll be working on a few more while I still have inky fingers!  LOL!

I hope you'll come join in our fun and play along in Single Layer Challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.  IF you need more inspiration, by all means pop over and see what my Sistahs & Step Sistahs have created!  They are AMAZING!!!   Hope to see you there!

HAPPY DAY ALL!
As always . . .
