With Sympathy

Happy Weekend My Dear Friends!
Yesterday I had some sad news!  And I'm afraid this is only the beginning.
A couple weeks ago I lost a 1st cousin and a 2nd cousin.  Both on the same day from the same family.  Yesterday I lost another 1st cousin.
I come from a very large family (42 - 1st cousins) and I am one of the 'younger' ones.
I'll be 65 in July ... so you understand my concern.

Needless to say I need a sympathy card for my own purposes and I also received a request for birthday, sympathy and get well cards so I got busy.  Here are three sympathy cards I came up with.

This first card uses basically the same technique as I showcased on my last post with the exception of no design paper was added behind the cut out butterfly.  I simply used my card stock mat for the color.

The lower corner image is an Inkadinkado stamp that was stamped onto white card stock using Versafine Onyx ink then colored with Spectrum Noir pencils and Gamsol.

The sentiment stamps are Impression Obsession.  And the butterfly die is also Impression Obsession.

The concept for the next two cards came from a card I saw on Pinterest by Birgit which you can see HERE.  I have used an OLD Stampin' Up 'script' background stamp and another very old stamp called 'Mixed Flowers' by Impression Obsession.  The coloring on these images was done with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the outer edge was sponged with Tim Holtz distress inks.

Inside
The inside verse is the same for all three cards and it is by Versus Rubber Stamps.  I've simply sponged the coordinating ink on the inside of each card before stamping the sentiment.

I'm quite content with the outcome of these cards and needless to say, you know what I'll be working on the remainder of the day!

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend and I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog and say Hello!  It truly MAKES MY DAY!

Please be sure to come back tomorrow!
It's going to be a very exciting day for me!  I get to debut my new design team creation for the
wonderful sketch challenge blog called Cardabilities!
You'll get to read all about it tomorrow!

Well, I'd best get busy ... it's raining outside so it's a good day to
hang out in the old 'crafting cave'!
As always . . .
