DID YOU KNOW???

Update from Google to my follower!

This is an update from Google and if you are a follower of my blog this will affect you.

An update on Google Friend Connect

Posted: December 21, 2015  In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
Posted by Michael Goddard, Software Engineer

Once you create a Google account, you will need to become a Follower again because all previous Followers who did not have an account will be permanently removed from our Follower lists.  If you choose not to open a Google account, you can still follow my blog using Bloglovin' or via email.  You will need to check each blog that you currently follow to see what options they have for you.

I wanted to let you know what is going on Effective January 11th, 2016 anyone that does not have a Google account will no longer be able to follow blogs with blogger unless they sign-up for a Google account. In addition, blogger will also remove any followers without a Google account from the blogs they are following.

A Holiday Thank You!

Hello Friends!
Remember the other day I shared a vintage easel board with you that I created for a sweet lady who had invited me to her Holiday Tea (which was yesterday and FABULOUS)?  Well, I decided to make a SPECIAL Thank You card for her too.  What do you think??

One of my Christmas presents from hubby was a new Sizzix Big Shot Pro.
Mind you, I already have 2 Cuttlebugs and 2 Vagabonds but I don't have a die cutting machine that handles a full 8 1/2 x 11 size so I put my request into Santa for a Grand Calibur.
BOY WAS I SURPRISED when I got the Big Shot instead!  LOL ...
He said after reading reviews and comparing the two he felt the Big Shot was the better machine for me!  I guess there's been some issues with breakage on the new Grand Calibur and since he's already had to repair one Cuttlebug and one Vagabond he opted for the 'less breakable' machine.  LOL!

The first thing I die cut on my new Big Shot was a die set that I purchased not realizing how BIG the dies were.  Fabulous die set ... but BIG!  And, that is the Sue Wilson Noble Dies - Double Pierced Rectangles (CED5508).  I die cut the largest one and folded it in half to use on the front of my 5x7 base card.

The design paper I chose is from the Graphic45 Twelve Days of Christmas.
I love the bold colors and I only used one 8x8 sheet for the entire card.

Other dies used were:
Creative Expressions Sue Wilson
Creative Expressions Sue Wilson 'Thanks' (CED5408)

Yesterday was a fun day for me!
Not only the Holiday Tea with a wonderful group of ladies, but then in the
evening I joined my daughter and some of her friends
for a 'Sip & Paint' Class at her local winery.

Here's the canvas we were to create ...

and here's mine ... lol!
Not bad, lol!  And a whole lot of fun!!
I'm so glad my daughter invited me along ... what a fun group of ladies!

Obviously I'm 'crafty' but NOT 'artistic'!
Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

1912 Fashion Plate

Happy Monday after Christmas Everyone!

Can you believe how fast time flies by??
A YEAR AGO ... yep I said a year ago ... a lady who had come to my home to purchase cards, saw an easel creation I had made at a workshop a few years back at Joan's Gardens out in South Bend, IN.  She asked me if when I had time, would I make (not one) but two of them for her and after checking to be sure I had the images she wanted, I told her "Yes, of course!"

Well, this same lady and her daughters came again this year to purchase cards and she recalled her request from the previous year.  I deeply apologized and told her I would be sure to get them done for her as soon as the holidays were over.  She was quite fine with that and say there really wasn't any rush!
LOL!  (Good thing since it's already been a full year! )

This lady and her daughters have invited me to a 'Holiday Tea' at her home on Tuesday of this week so I decided there was no time like the present to get these created and give them to her as a gift for her patience!

They really didn't take me much time at all once I remembered (thanks to YouTube) how to die cut the Tim Holtz easel die using the crease pad.  I'm always so afraid of making the 'sandwich' incorrectly and breaking my Vagabond.  OMG it was so easy and I think I'll be making more of these easel creations for upcoming craft fairs.  I know an entire group of ladies at the Country Club event I do in the spring that would LOVE these ... hmmm, I'd better go in search of these images (paper packs) and get started!  Spring will be here before you know it!  LOL

I am so happy with the outcome and I'm sure she will love them too.

I just looked back and the workshop was held in 2012 and luckily Joan was good about typing up directions for all your workshop projects and I still had a copy in my files.  As you can see, the image we used in the workshop was different from the one I used today but they are from the same paper pack and still beautiful!!

Here's a close up view.  For a touch of sparkle, I used Diamond Stickles on her necklace.  Looks fantastic in person!

I must admit, it felt really good to create something that wasn't Christmas, Winter, Snowflakes! LOL!  I guess I must be ready for sunshine, flowers and butterflies!  AND ... here in N.E. Ohio we really haven't even seen winter yet!  It's been unseasonably warm this year (so far!)!

A few challenges I'd like to share in today are:
Mod Squad Challenge - Anything Goes
Allsort Challenge - Anything BUT Christmas
Deep Ocean Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #296 -"ANYTHING FOR WINTER" - 12/27/2015

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
I hope you're enjoying your Christmas Holiday!!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

As you can see by my title, this week's challenge is
ANYTHING FOR WINTER

And, our sponsor is SAMI STAMPS
SAMI STAMPS

One lucky winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to the Sami Stamps Store!

Today I had fun creation with the adorable image called 'Frosty Hugs' ... how cute is this!!

As I was in search of just the perfect background for this adorable image I stumbled upon this piece of design paper that I had cut (actually was going to use the reverse side) for another project but changed my mind.
When I saw this 'scene' I immediately thought of fussy cutting my image (which I already had matted by the way, lol) and it worked perfectly!
For a little added dimension, I created another snowdrift using the Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside Borders' (LF772).  I actually used the opposite side of the die cut (the non stitched part).
My 'Let It Snow' sentiment comes from the Creative Expressions Sue Wilson 'Festive Collection' called 'Peeking Snowflake' (CED3022)

This was actually a quick and easy card since the scene was already created on the design paper!

Challenges to share in today are:

Dies R Us - Let It Snow!

Hello Everyone!
WOW! Time is zipping right along!
I have a quick and easy card to share today that I created as my inspiration sample for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  I hope you like it as much as I liked making it!

The dies I have used on today's card are:

I love this Sue Wilson die set and had a lot of fun creating with it.
There are actually FOUR different dies in this set which made it possible for me to add a 'snowy spotted' background to my snowflake panel vs having to just go with the white background .
I also had a couple of the smaller white snowflakes laying on my desk from a previous project where I had die cut the FABULOUS Impression Obsession large snowflake and thought they'd add nice dimension but placing them atop the snowflakes in my die cut.  A couple sequins that were also laying on the table and VIOLA! ... card complete!  LOVE THAT!

Please be sure to check out our Dies R Us Store ...
and of course the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.

I have no doubt you will find fabulous product, fun times and awesome inspiration if you do!!

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #294 -"ADD A CHRISTMAS DIE CUT" - 12/13/2015

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!
This week's challenge is:
ADD A CHRISTMAS DIE CUT
to your card/project.
And, our sponsor is Anne's Digital Art!

ANNE'S DIGITAL ART
One lucky winner will receive their choice of 4 digital stamps from Anne's Digital Art Store.

Today I was fortunate enough to work with one of Anne's images.  I chose the image 'Delivering Parcels'.
I just thought she was so cute and I enjoyed coloring and creating with her.

I actually chose several die cuts to work with today.
The frame around my image is from the Memory Box 'Cross Stitched Frame Borders' set (#99124).  The snowflake corners are also from Memory Box  ... 'Snowflake Corner'  (#98238).  And, my sentiment is from Cheery Lynn Designs called 'Merry Christmas' (#B186).  This die set includes 2 sizes ... this is the smaller of the two in the set.

Below is an enlargement so you can see the added sparkle.
I've used Diamond Stickles on the corner dies as well as created some 'sparkly snow' in the background of my image.  It's not a holiday card without some sparkle!!  LOL!

The coloring on today image was done using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

Challenges to share in today are:
ABC Christmas Challenge - Y is for Youngsters
Crafty Creations Challenge - Happy Holidays

Thanks so much for stopping by today and please pop over to Robyn's Fetish Store and Blog.  We'd love to have you come join in our challenge fun. Who knows ... YOU could be our WINNER!  How awesome would that be!

Dies R Us - A baby for Christmas!

Hello Everyone!
WOW!  Time is flying and I have SO MUCH to get done before Christmas morning!
How about you?  Are you ready yet?  LOL

Today I have a card to share for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I just learned that a new baby is expected anytime now for someone I know (from a distance) and thought it would be nice to surprise him & his wife with a cute card of congratulations.  So, here's what I came up with.

They don't know if they're having a boy or a girl so I stayed with a generic color palette.

The dies I used today are:
Spellbinder Shapeabilities 'Playtime' (S4-261)
Frantic Stamper 'Baby Elephant' (FRA9684)
Memory Box 'Baby Bottles' (98867)

The small baby bottle was popped up and I added Diamond Stickles inside a few of the hearts for added sparkle.  My background paper is from Crafty Secrets and the lace tape is Jambo (J&Bobbin).  Easy peasy but adorable I think!

Be sure to pop over to the Dies R Us store and check out all the fabulous dies available.  New companies & dies added all the time!  You'll also want to be sure and sign up for our Newsletter so you don't miss out on the amazing end of year sales going on right now.

Don't forget to come join in the Dies R Us Challenges.  A new themed challenge is offered on the 1st and 15th of each month.  YOU could be the next winner of a Dies R Us store voucher!  So whatcha waiting for??

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
We host an annual holiday party for the neighborhood and it's planned for this Sunday ...
yikes, I'd better get busy ... still a few last minute things to do!

Dies R Us - Blue Christmas

Hello Friends!
Will you be having a White Christmas this year?
I know some of you have already experience some amazing snowfall amounts!
Here in Ohio we haven't seen much yet but hopefully there will be a LITTLE
on the ground for Christmas morning (but not too much mind you!  lol)

Today I have a card to share for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I've based it on the 'white stuff'!
Did you know there is a NEW inspiration sample shared each day Monday through Friday
from the team at the Inspiration Blog?  Be sure to pop over and see for yourself!

With so many beautiful holiday die cuts available at the Dies R Us store,
I'm afraid you're going to be seeing MORE holiday
cards from me throughout the month (possibly even into the New Year! lol)

The dies I've used today are:

These distressed corner dies are FABULOUS and there are other (besides holiday) designs available also.  You'll want to be sure and check them out ... makes a beautiful corner embellishment!

And this Impression Obsession large snowflake is one of my FAVORITES!
I love using the 'negative' of this die and you don't just get one die cut when you run it through your die cutting machine . . . you get FOUR ... how awesome is that!!!  So many options from just one die!
Here I've used the largest to frame my image by simply adhering it here and there
around the front & back of my image.  What a BEAUTIFUL die ... you'll definitely want this one in your collection!

Christmas is coming FAST so I'll keep this short & sweet!

Please be sure to pop over and join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #293 -"CHRISTMAS CARDS" - 12/06/2015

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

As you can see by my title, this week's challenge is
CHRISTMAS CARDS
The lucky winner of this challenge will receive their choice of 3 Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps from the ROBYN'S FETISH DIGITAL STAMPS AND MORE STORE!   So, you'll want to be sure and join in the fun!!
Today I have used the Robyn's Fetish digi image named 'Poinsettia Basket'.
I'm always so impressed with the beautiful poinsettias displayed in the churches, on the TV, just everywhere during the holidays.  As a child I only remember them being RED in color but today they come in so many beautiful shades of red, pink, white and the variegated are just gorgeous.  That's kind of what I was trying to achieve in my coloring today.
After I did my coloring with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I decided to do a bit of fussy cutting.
I wanted to be able to pop up the bouquet portion of the image while keeping the basket flat on the card front.

This time of the year I end up with a mountain of scraps to use  ... some new and others from years past.
Today I've used some of those scrap holiday papers for the background of my card.
I also had a couple holly branches die cut and laying on the work table so I put them together in an off set fashion, to give a shadow effect and some added dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and please pop over to Robyn's Fetish Store and Blog.  We'd love to have you come join in our challenge fun.  Come share YOUR Christmas creation!  YOU could even be our WINNER!  How cool would that be!  LOL!!
