The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #301 -"WINTER CARDS WITH GLITTER" - 01/31/2016

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

This week's challenge is:
WINTER CARDS WITH *GLITTER*

Fred, She Said Designs .... The StoreToday's sponsor is Fred, She Said Designs.  One lucky winner will receive a $10 voucher from the Fred, She Said Design Store. I hope you'll come play along ... that winner could be YOU!!

Today I'm playing with the sweet image called 'Emma and The Snowball'.  Of course our theme requires you to use GLITTER on your creation so I went out on a limb and tried to use something 'glittery' in all aspects of my creation.  What do you think??

My background paper is old, old, old ... from a DCWV Glitter pack of paper.  The ribbon is black glitter from Michaels and of course I used Stickles on her hat as well as on the mounds of snow in front of her.

I love the look of glitter on a card ... especially a holiday card ... but I'm not typically a 'glitter girl' ... I end up with it EVERYWHERE!!  Not sure how that happens ... but it always does!  LOL!

I'm sure a lot of you (like myself) have

If you recall last week's Tuesday post, you will see
just in a different color ... another Ken Oliver play time
sample panel. lol

 Other dies used:

Whew that's a lot of pieces and parts but I think it's cute!
Are you up to the challenge?
Take a look around in your work space ...
Gather those 'left overs' and see what you can create!
I must admit ... it really made me scratch my head a few times!

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

This week's challenge is:
PINK, GREEN, YELLOW & BLUE

Today's sponsor is ODDBALL ART CO.

One lucky player will win their choice of 3 digital stamps from the Oddball Art Co

The fun image I am creating with today is called 'Skylar & Friends - Signs of Spring'.
I am in dire need of birthday cards so I decided that would be the theme of my card today.  The inside sentiment is also a part of this stamp set (actually 4 different sentiments).

Inside View

I have used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color this adorable image and really haven't used many embellishments because I wanted the image to be the focus of my card.
Our challenge colors were sponged across the inside panel after printing the sentiment.  I really like how it pulls it all together.

Challenges to share in:

For A Man or Woman

Hello Friends!
Another weekend is upon us
but before I get busy and loose track of time,
I wanted to share with you another
creation I've made for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.

As I mentioned before, I am always
in need of birthday cards!  And, of course the hardest
to design for are the men in our lives.
I think today's card could be used for either a man or a woman!

What do you think?

The colors of black & kraft lend themselves to a masculine
card, but the fanciness of the Sue Wilson 'Spanish Collection - Cordoba' die set (3 dies in this set) as well as the Sue Wilson Expressions - Happy Birthday sentiment die
would work perfectly for a lady.

With spring craft shows right around the corner,
I think I'll whip up several of this
design in different colors ... sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Please remember you still have a week to play
along in the current challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
The theme is: use the color STITCHING (real or faux).

Hope you'll join in the fun!
Thanks for stopping by today ...
Till next time . . .

Double D Challenge ... Brrrr!

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the new 'Double D Challenge Blog'.
Today Team Darlene (teeheehee that's me!) is hosting and these ladies have created some amazing projects!  Please come check it out and play along!  (I've even offered a prize to the winner!)

Our theme is:  BRRRRR!!!
and here's the Tile Board offered to help get your mojo started!

Well it is JANUARY and even though December was VERY mild, it looks like Old Man Winter will catch up with us sooner or later.  I remember winters growing up ... what fun!  My Dad always had a really cool sled riding path created for us (and all the neighborhood kids) to enjoy.
I can remember one year when he made a 12 foot snowman (he actually made it a 'snow woman' ... WOW was my mom mad and made him 'fix' it!  lol)  From then on they were always your typical snowmen!

A couple of things caught my eye on this tile board ...
obviously the snow & snowman ... but also the trees with the beautiful red cardinals.
So here's what I came up with.

I actually was able to use some of the scraps that were laying on my work table
left over from the holidays.   For instance, the large snowflake panel.  I saw it laying there and decided that would be used for the center focus ... and went on from there.
This little sprig of snowflakes where cut off from the entire 'Snow Flurry' die cut piece so I accented my ribbon with it.  (Good Golly!  You would have thought I would have just thrown it away!  REALLY!!  Do I need to keep every little bit and piece???  Obviously I do!  LOL)

So there you have it ...
I do hope you'll come join in the challenge fun at Double D Challenges.

With Sympathy

Hello All!
Today's card is my inspiration sample for the

I get many requests for sympathy cards, so when I saw this
die (CED5416) in the store, I just knew I had to have it.

The other dies used on today's card are:

When choosing color/pattern for my wreath die,
I spotted a scrap of paper I had created with I was playing
with my Ken Oliver color bursts over the holidays
(hence the variation in color).
It was the right size so that became the basis
for my entire creation.

The white sentiment has been popped up, which
looks fabulous IRL ... but since it blended in
a bit more than I wanted, I simply did some dots
along the phrase with a Spectrum Noir IB2 marker.

Don't forget to come join in the fun
challenges offered at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
The current challenge theme is:  Use the color STITCHING (real or faux).

Butterflies in Flight

Hello my friends!
It appears I'm in a 'butterfly' mood this week!
This is my second card for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog
this week and it just dawned on me that
they both had butterflies!
I guess now that winter has hit ... I'm ready for spring!

Dies used today from the Dies R Us Store are:

What I did to create this card was to first die cut the Fairyland Butterflies from a heavier (110#) card stock and use that cut as my stencil.  Using various Tim Holtz distress blue inks, I created my 'ombre' background.  Then overlaid my butterfly panel just a little off center to create a shadow affect.

From earlier creations I had the center cuts from the CLD Celtic Fire Rectangle Frame which I cut in half and adhered as yet another 'layer'.  The hearts were also laying on my work table from a previous creation and I thought I still needed a little 'something' and they worked perfectly!  A little faux stitching and VIOLA!

OH!  One more thing ...

By coloring a scrap piece of white card stock with the same
colors as the front of my card and die cutting the lovely
Wild Rose Studio 'Birthday' die,
NOW my card is totally complete and beautiful inside & out!

Challenges to share in:
City Crafter Challenge - Butterfly, my butterfly
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Ombre
The Crafty Addicts - ATG - Celebration (birthday)

Sisterhood Challenge - Something Old, Something New

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the 1st Sisterhood challenge of the new year!
Today LisaB is our hostess and she's ask us to use 'Something Old and Something New' ... what fun!

This was an easy challenge for me since I've been going crazy lately and have several NEW items and of course I have a crafting cave filled with OLD stuff.  I need to start using more of the OLD (that I've forgotten about) and quit buying so much NEW ... at least for a little while maybe!  LOL!

While creating today's card I was actually able to utilize a few items that have been laying on my work table.  I always seem to have a lot of 'bits and pieces' laying around that either I've die cut, colored or whatever ... for other projects, but then switched gears and went a different direction.

Those particular items today are the Frantic Stamper 'Silhouette Kids' (FRA-DIE-09696) and the colorful panel I created several months ago using Ken Oliver Color Bursts.  I've die cut the kids twice to have a 'shadow' affect and even thought the sentiments are two different dies they work perfectly together.

To be specific, my OLD is the BoBunny design paper and my NEW are the dies.
(Well, a couple of them anyways, lol)

I hope you'll come join in on the fun!
We'd love to see what new crafting goodies Santa brought you
(or maybe you got in on some fabulous sales over the holiday!)

Vintage Let It Snow . . .

Happy Monday All!
Well, it appears 'old man winter' has finally
come to visit us here in N.E. Ohio!
Yep ... it's snowing & blowing and there's more to come.

So what better way to spend a snowy Monday
then to craft and make something pretty!

Every time I see a shaker card online I sigh
because they look so fabulous and I NEVER think
to make them myself.  Well ... today's the day!!

In fact, the challenge at the Memory Box blog is to make a shaker card
and I have used the Memory Box Shaker Square Frames (#30030)
and Square Layers (#30021) for today's shaker card.

When I saw that the challenge on the Poppystamps blog was
'Sparkly Snow', I knew these two would work
together perfectly.
How adorable is this sweet vintage image that
I found online.  And of course the Poppystamps 'stacked
mittens' (#1267) was the ideal embellishments.

A few additional challenges to share in:

DRS Designs Challenge - The Weather Outside
Morgan's ArtWorld Challenge - Anything Goes
Julia Spiri Challenge - ATG/Monotone
