Flower Power

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Time for a new inspiration sample for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I just received a new order of dies from the Dies R Us Store and couldn't wait to play.

Something a little different for you today!
This card could be used for a variety of occasions and it came together quite quickly.
I've even been able to utilize some of my off cuts for today's creation.
LOVE when that happens.

Here's a list of dies I used today and they all happen to be Creative Expressions Sue Wilson dies:

Here's the side view.  You can see how after die cutting my designer paper panel, I positioned a scrap piece of lavender card stock behind the center cut outs so that the white flourishes would be more prominent.  I've also added an extra flower to the inside corner.  Turned out I didn't need it for the front and of course I couldn't waste it!   LOL

And, here's a peek at my flower.
By taking an extra minute to curl the edges of the petals around my flat head tweezers, this flower 'came to life'.

Please be sure to take a minute and check out all the fabulous dies available at the Dies R Us Store!  AND, don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  A new challenge is offered on the 1st and 15th of each month with a PRIZE VOUCHER offered to one lucky winner each challenge.  That winner could be YOU!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Spring one day ... Fall the next ... Uugh!

Hello my friends ...

WOW what a beautiful Easter Sunday!
The weather was just perfect with temperatures in the low 70s ...
awe, my kind of weather!
And it was so heartwarming to look out my front door
to see my spring flowers in bloom all through
the flower beds at the front of the house.

Then over night a storm came through ... lightening/thunder/wind/rain
and today the temperatures have dropped 25-30 degrees,
the wind is cold and it's gloomy/Fall looking AGAIN!  Uugh ...

Anyways ... enough complaining ... I'm just glad I'm ALIVE
and have the freedom to complain and craft my little heart out!  LOL!

Here are a couple of cards I created this past week
for the local Tea Shoppe.  They are having an event called
'Birds of a Feather Stitch Together'
so I've created all the ordered cards using something
stitched with birds and tea cups/pots.

I've kept the designs very 'mailable' but pretty.
They are blank on the inside so the ladies can use them for
what ever occasion/purpose they require.
The images are from the internet and Etsy.
The design paper is K&Co. and the die set used is Memory Box

A few challenges to share in:

Thanks for stopping by today!
Wishing you a fabulous week ahead!
Can you believe April is right around the corner!  Yikes!
As always ...

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #309 -"USE A DOILY" - 03/27/2016

Happy Easter Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

This week's challenge is:
USE A DOILY

Today's sponsor is Lemon Shortbread
LEMON SHORTBREAD
One lucky winner will have their choice of 3 digital stamps from the Lemon Shortbread Store.
So be sure to come join in our challenge fun!  That lucky winner could be YOU!!
Today I'm creating with an image called 'Shopping Mod Girl'.
When I was creating today's card it was snowing and blowing outside
and I was longing for the green, green grass of Springtime
so my color scheme today is green!  lol

Doesn't this adorable image have the most beautiful face?
And, I love hats ... too bad we don't wear hats anymore!
Like the British do ... something SO LADYLIKE about a hat!!

My design is simple because I wanted the focus to be on
my image and the doily.
Another item that has been lost here in the USA
but still used frequently in the decorating in Britain (at least I think they are).
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Gingham and Poppies . . .

Happy Friday Everyone!
Are you all ready for Easter weekend?
WOW!  It's hard to believe we are about to celebrate Easter already!
Time flies when you're having fun!  LOL
Today I have a new inspiration sample for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog to share.

What fun I had creating this card!
When I received this beautiful Wild Rose Studio 'Dancing Poppies' #WRS021 die, I wasn't real sure what I wanted to do with it so I simply die cut a sample from white card stock and started laying it down on different design papers, etc. just to get some ideas.  And since my real poppies are more of a RED color, I die cut another panel from red card stock.
I laid them both on the worktable while I looked for some different design papers and when I turned around it hit me that I liked the red flowers in behind the white flowers ... so THAT was the beginning of this creation.

Poppies remind me of being out in the country so I thought this panel of red/white gingham was appropriate.  Next I needed a panel to really make things POP so I grabbed the beautiful Sue Wilson 'Frames & Tags - Hannah' die and cut a panel from black card stock to use as the background for my poppies.  PERFECT!
Now all I needed was a touch of sparkle which I achieve with Diamond Stickles and a sentiment.  The Cheery Lynn Designs 'Happy' #B226 and 'Birthday' #B231 worked perfectly!!

One I forgot to share . . .

Hello Everyone!
It's the middle of the night ...
I can't sleep ...
So here I am in my 'cave' ... catching up on commenting
and thought I'd share a card creation I made back in February
and totally forgot to share it with you all.

MY creation was inspired by this creation
It's like you just get a tiny glimpse of another world just beyond your reach...:

created by Birgit ...
Take a peek at her blog and I'm SURE you too will
find inspiration!

By using sponges, inks and a few stamps it was
actually pretty easy to create this beautiful scene.
I used black as my foreground because I like how it now only showcased
my outdoor scene but also made this Die Versions GET WELL die that I purchased
at the Dies R Us Store stand out beautifully.

The stamps I have used for my scene are all Stampscapes stamps.
The inks I used are Tim Holtz distress inks.

Sisterhood of Crafters - Photo Inspiration

Hello Everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters!
Sandi Lee is our hostess today and she has a photo to inspire our creativity!

I must admit I really struggled with this one ... guess I just wasn't feeling these colors
but after TOSSING the first card here's what I came up with the 2nd time around.

I just could NOT get the correct color!  And actually, it looks a lot closer in real life
then it does in this photo ... maybe it's my camera?  Uugh ... I'm just not happy with this color but I am happy with the card itself so I guess it's not a total loss. LOL

I hope you'll come join in our challenge!
I look forward to seeing what you create ... I'm sure it will be inspiring!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a great day!
As always . . .

Just wanting to say HELLO

 Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Time for a new inspiration sample for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I've received some new dies in the mail ... YAY!!
So this card is designed from dies ONLY ... no stamps or designer paper.

(inside peek)
I'm so happy with the outcome!
What do YOU think?
The dies I have used today are:
and
On my card front, I die cut the daisies from white card stock then colored the flowers/stems with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  For the inside panel, I die cut them out of bright yellow card stock but laid the bottom portion of the die off the cardstock to create 'freestanding' stems.

The butterflies are actually linked together on the die but I carefully snipped them apart so I could position them in two different places on my card front.  (Remember to 'think outside the box' when using your die cuts.)

Please be sure to take a minute and check out all the fabulous dies available at the Dies R Us Store!  AND, don't forget we have a Dies R Us Challenge Blog too!  A fun new challenge is offered on the 1st and 15th of each month with a PRIZE VOUCHER offered to one lucky winner each challenge.  It could be YOU!

Birds of a Feather ... STITCH together!

Hello All ...
I'm back again with a 2nd post for today.

Over the weekend I was working on several card creations
commissioned by the local Tea Shoppe for an event they are participating in
at a local Sewing Center.  The name of the event is identified in
the title of my post and this is one of several cards I've created for them so far.

Also, while doing my DT commenting, I came upon a couple of challenges I thought
would be great fun to participate in.  So here we go ...

One of those challenges I mentioned is the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
The theme (as you see) is SPRING and must include a tea &/or coffee inspired design.

12661786_10208877635328742_1011373880191829209_n
There's a huge amount of prizes being given away and the
inspiration at this site is AWESOME!!  Be sure to pop over and check it out!

Another theme I saw in my commenting venture is the STITCHING challenge
at the Pile It On Challenge Blog.   Since stitching is a requirement
of my card commission, it only stands to reason I should enter this sweet creation.
The challenge specifies real or faux stitching so I
chose faux stitching around my image and as you see I've also
used some double stitched (old) SU ribbon.  That counts ... right!?!  LOL

Other challenges to share in:

Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes/Patterned Paper Over a Year Old
Fresh Brewed Challenge - Anything Goes
Die Cut Diva's Challenge - Something Spring

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!

Use Your Stuff - Quotes

Hello & Happy Monday Everyone!

There's a new challenge today at the Use Your Stuff Blog and I love the theme . . .

INSPIRED BY A QUOTE
You don't have to put the quote on your project
but you do need to let them know what it is!

I decided to use the quote as the focus of my card.

This quote panel actually came from a 12x12 sheet of 7Gypsies designer paper called
Gypsy Moments Collection:  A Novel Thought

I reached back into my OLDIES for this 2 sided Stampin' Up background snippet.
I have a stack of 6x6 papers that I bought at a garage sale several years ago
so I can't tell you what the actual paper pack name is/was. Sorry!   But you see BOTH sides here
because the panel I cut off I simply flipped over and used as a dividing panel.

To create my 'Bird on a Branch' embellishment, I've actually die cut the Impression Obsession 'Bird on a Branch' twice then cut snippets from the second cut for added branches.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!

Dogwood Time of Year . . .

Hello Everyone and Happy Weekend!
The weather is warming up and I think we all have a touch of Spring Fever ... I know I do!
We planted two pink dogwood trees last year and I can't wait to see how they bloom this year.
Luckily it wasn't a harsh winter so they should be okay!

I saw a post over on the Twinkling Paper Studio blog about the 'Legend of the Dogwood' (a must read)
which put me in the mood to create a card using some springtime colors
and the beautiful Poppystamps 'Dogwood Blossom Corner' die.

I also saw that Poppystamps March Challenge at their blog is themed 'Spring Fling'
so I kept that in mind while creating today.  I was thrilled last month to see that I was
chosen the winner at the Poppystamps Challenge Blog and received
this beautiful 'Peppini Wreath' as my prize!

This is a 'simple' design for me but I think a very happy creation
and hopefully it will make someone smile on their birthday when they receive it!

Sweet Stamps Guest Designer

Hello Everyone!
I have some exciting news to share with you today!

I recently saw a call for guest designers over on Sweet Stamps Blog and thought it would be great fun, so applied.  Well, call me 'tickled pink', they contacted me and before I knew it I had two adorable digi imagines in my mailbox to create with and share.  I am only sharing one card with you today ... the other one I will share on another day so please 'stay tuned' LOL!!

Please pop over to the Sweet Stamps Blog and check out the other guest designers!

This sweet digi is called CLAIRE
and, she's all ready for those warmer temperatures
that we are all longing for here in NE Ohio.

I've kept my card pretty simple because I wanted you to see just how
fabulous these digital stamps are.  My background was created by simply sponging
blue for the sky and green for the grass on a white piece of card stock.  A spring time
frame die cut and a few butterflies help set the scene for CLAIRE.

Did you see there is a DT Call in process for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog?
