For the Guys . . .

Hello Everyone!
As some of you already know, I was away last week visiting a couple of my midwest crafting friends and enjoying some of the sights around Indiana and Michigan.  Thanks Diane Hover (Nellie's Nest) for a fabulous visit filled with exciting, fun things to do and OMG such good food!

Anyways, while crafting with Indiana friend Joan Fricker (former owner of Joan's Gardens) and Diane, Joan shared a card design using an acetate panel that she spotted on Pinterest.  The original card design and inspiration came from Kathleen's Stamping Space.  All the details + video can be seen HERE.  She shares all the measurements, but the one thing I did differently was make it an A6 size card.

Kathleen's card:

You can see the card we created at Joan's during my visit on her blog post HERE.

I think this an awesome design that could be changed up in so many ways to fit so many different occasions!
Today I took some time to begin creating some masculine cards which I'll be needing for the upcoming fall craft fairs I participate in.  When it comes to masculine creations, I often fall back on my Stampscapes stamps & dies ... as I did today.  Here's what I came up with ... hope you like it!

By masking off the inside panel of the card that would be showing through the acetate panel, I first sponged the sky, grass and sunset ... then added my Stampscapes fence, brush and birds.

I then cut the 'extra' front panel that will hide where the acetate is adhered the same size as the white wider panel of my card front.  Using that 'extra' white card stock panel (which I actually cut a little long) I stamped my fence and brush again.  Once it was lined up and adhered to the front of my card, I cut off the excess.

TIP:  Be sure you stamp your sentiment and anything extra you want on the front panel BEFORE adhering.  It never fails that you get everything the way you want it ... then stamp your sentiment only to find it's crooked!

I hope to get an 'assembly line' going on this design for my craft fairs over the next few days and make various designs using this base design.  If (when) I get a few of those created, I'll be back to share them with you.

Thinking Out Loud ... this would be a unique Christmas card too ... hmmm have to give that extra thought LOL.

Well I need to go ... hubby is calling.
One day back from my little mid-west trip and my washing machine decided to die ... uugh!

So I'd better get moving!
