Sisterhood of Crafters - Gingham and Flowers

Hello Friends and welcome back!
Today is a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and Terri is our hostess.  The theme she has asked us to follow is:
 GINGHAM and FLOWERS

What a fabulous combination!
Here's what I created . . .

I haven't done any paper piecing in a very long time so that what the direction I was headed in when I chose the stamp to use for today's flowers.  Mind you, I love making handmade flowers but I am actually in the need for a few more 'easy to mail' cards for an upcoming craft show so went with this oldie but goodie Impression Obsession Dogwood Stamp.

After stamping my stamp onto white card stock, I stamped it again on the left over piece of yellow gingham I had cut for the background panel.  Colored the leaves & stems with a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker then after a bit of fussy cutting, paper pieced the gingham flowers.  A green sequin was attached for the flower center.

A pretty easy peasy creation but fun none the less and could be used for a variety of occasions.

My Die Versions 'hugs' sentiment die was die cut twice ... once in yellow and once in black.  Then the yellow panel was overlaid atop the black panel to give the illusion of a shadow of depth.

I do hope you'll come join in our 'Gingham & Flowers' challenge fun and if you are in need of further inspiration, by all means pop on over to our challenge blog to see what my 'sistahs' have created.
