Christmas Sparkle

Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday!

Sunday's are my day to share a new creation using the fabulous new dies from Tutti Designs on their Tutti Designs Blog.  The design team shares something new each & every day!!  If you haven't taken the time yet to check out this new line of dies ... please do it NOW!  They just put out their second release the beginning of July and there are some AMAZING dies for Fall and the upcoming Holiday season!

Today I decided to create a quick, easy & beautiful holiday card using the Tutti-131 die called 'Gifts Under the Tree'.  There are actually FIVE different tree dies in this latest release ... I will share pics of those with you at the end of this post.  I'm SURE you'll want to pick a couple (if not all) to use on your holiday cards.
By simply using a winter embossing folder for the background of my card, (I've used Crafts-too 'CTFD4025 'Frame Winter) I could let this tree shine in all it's sparkle glory.
After die cutting from white card stock, I simply applied white glue, then Christmas green glitter to the tree, brown glitter to the tree trunk, gold glitter to the star and red glitter to the pot & gifts under the tree.

As you can see, the snow flakes, ribbon and bow pop out once die cut.
After I had my tree all glittered and dry, I added the white snow flakes back in and die cut the ribbon/bow from gold metallic paper and added them back into my die cut.  A few little touches of red Stickles to mimic ornaments and my card was ready to brighten someone's holiday this coming season.

As I mentioned, there are FIVE different holiday trees in this latest release, available for purchase at the Tutti Designs Store.  Here's a quick peek ... you can click on the images for a better view.  THEN you'll want to be sure and pop over to the store to make your purchase before they are out of stock.

So many beautiful dies available and the prices are MORE THAN REASONABLE!!

Well, that does it for me today!
Remember, the design team has a new, inspiring creation using Tutti Designs dies waiting for you here on the Tutti Designs Blog each and every day!!

White on White

Happy Saturday Everyone!
Did you see there's a new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafter?
Yep ... and the theme is WHITE on WHITE.

Well even though I am a DT member, I love doing white on white cards so I'm taking the opportunity to create another card for this challenge.  My last white on white sample to you was a wedding card ... this time I decided on a winter creation.  As much as I love making this style of card, they are so difficult to photograph.

If anyone has any helpful tips/tricks on photographing ALL WHITE cards, please leave me a comment ... I would really appreciate it!!  Okay so here we go . . .

Here are a couple closeups in an attempt to show the SPARKLE I've added to several of the snowflakes around the outside edge of my frames ... as well as the snowflakes on the bird & icicle panel.

I hope you'll come join in the fun ... I would LOVE to be inspired by YOUR
WHITE on WHITE creation!!

By taking a quick peek at the radar ... it appears we might FINALLY get some rain and of course it will be in the form of STORMS so I'd best make this short & sweet since I can hear thunder rumbling (and I'm in the basement).

Thanks for stopping by ...
Have a FABULOUS weekend ...
As always ...

A Walk in the Garden

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday!!
Today I have some exciting news to share as well as a card.

A short while back I had to step down from a few design teams because my calendar had just gotten too busy and I didn't feel it was fair to leave them hanging if I couldn't keep up with their schedules.  WELL, after a bit of coaxing from a friend, and the fact it was one card a month requirement, I decided to apply for a spot on the team.  Low and behold I received an email asking me to join the team ... and the challenge blog I'm referring to is:  FUSSY and FANCY!
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge
The new challenge is hosted by Diane and the theme she has chosen is
A WALK IN THE GARDEN
(your interpretation ... flowers, critters, butterflies, bees ... even veggies qualify)

We have a special  gift voucher this week for one lucky winner and it is to:
Here's what I came up with . . .

I decided to create using this beautiful image I found on Pinterest.
I love flowers so walking through any type of flower garden is so exciting for me.  In fact, when Mark & I were booking our excursions for our cruise a few weeks back, one stop had a walking tour through the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. and he knew I'd want to see it so booked that particular excursion right away.  I will share a few photos at the end of my post.  It was BEAUTIFUL!

How much more beauty is just beyond that gate do you think??

I actually had this Heartfelt Creations corner die cut laying on my work table and it just screamed out to be added to this peaceful image.

A few little pink posies are all that was needed for a little extra dimension and sparkle.  Yep there is white glitter on the liquid pearls centers ... hard to see in the photo I know.

The Impression Obsession 'sending smiles' die cut was also laying on the table and called out to me at the last minute.  And, how excited was I to discover this Memory Box 'Fanciful Fences' die mimicked the one in the photo almost perfectly.

Please be sure to pop over to the challenge blog and take a peek at what the DT has created to inspire you!  A very talented group of ladies!!  And then come join in the fun!  One lucky winner will receive a NOOR DESIGNS gift voucher!  Good Luck!

Boo-boo Butterfly Card

Hello Everyone!

How exciting is it when someone sees a card you have created then contacts you requesting you make multiples of that same design for them.  Well, that's exactly what happened to me a few days ago when I showcased this card here on my blog as well as on FB.  And, since the order was going out of state,  I wanted to get started right away!!

As luck would have it, I made a boo-boo  . . .
so that is the card I will share with you today!!  LOL

Inside view . . .

As soon as I received this commission, I immediately created my Ken Oliver Color Burst background panels and hung them up to dry.  THIS one of course was my favorite and thought OH HOW BEAUTIFUL will this card be!
Then BAMM!!  My one and only mistake (on this order) was made!!

While cutting out my template pieces I cut THIS particular angle panel reverse of what I needed.  And, since I also needed to cut the 1" end piece as well as the butterfly from this same panel, this beautiful panel was rendered unusable for the design requested.
Boy I hate when I make stupid errors like that!  {sigh}
As soon as I made the cut I knew it was wrong ... grrrrr!

BUT WE MUST NOT WASTE .  .  .
and how great is it when you can turn a negative into something positive!!!

Where have all the butterflies gone??

Happy Monday Everyone!
Well, here we are in the LAST week of July ... where oh where is the time going?

Uncommonly HOT here in Ohio this month which has been keeping me indoors more than I'd like to admit!  That means my flower beds are starting to look a little 'unattended' and I have notice fewer butterflies than normal too.

Growing up we had a semi-circle driveway with a big flower bed right in the middle of it.  My dad made sure there were flowers planted that would create a continuous bed of color and variety of height.  The front row was always one of the first flowers of spring, Daffodils and around the semi-circle were Sweet Williams of all colors!  The butterflies LOVED these flowers and as a child I remember watching all the beautiful butterflies in flight around my dads lovely flowers.  So today I'm paying tribute to the beautiful butterfly with my card creation.

I had this Ken Oliver Color Burst panel laying on my work table from a previous project and thought the colors would make a beautiful butterfly.  The rest of the card just came together as time went along.  I didn't have enough of the panel left for much more than an accent so that's exactly how my design was developed.

Tutti Designs . . . Candles in the Night

Happy Sunday All!
It's time once again to share a creation I've made for the DT

I'm having so much fun with this July release of holiday dies from the Tutti Designs Store.  And, excited to know that I will should have plenty of holiday cards completed early this year.

TUTTI-138 Shinning Candles

This die can be used in SO MANY
ways but today I chose to bring it 'front & center'
on this picturesque card.

Here are a few steps that were taken in creating today's card inspiration.  I hope you like it.

First I created my 'picture panel' by die cutting an oval then cut another oval of the same size + one size larger to create my outer frame.   By using some clear packing acetate from other crafting products, I was able to create my 'window'.  Double sided tape was used to adhere it to the BACK of my oval cut panel.

Next I created my winter scene with inks & stamps, which I adhered once again to the
BACK of my oval cut window panel.

Using dimensional tape around this panel, adhere it to my white card base.

Now comes the fun with our SHINING CANDLES die cut!

First I die cut it from white card stock.  Then, carefully colored the poinsettia pieces & greenery with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers while it was still in the die ... hence the little white edges.

After adhering my 'Shining Candles' in front of my winter scene, I started
'reassembling' my poinsettia & greenery.

A few touches of sparkle and my card is ready to mail.

Make sure and check out all the great places to see this new line of dies.

Thanks for stopping by today and here's wishing you a FABULOUS week ahead!

Butterflies in Flight . . .

Happy Weekend Everyone!
OMG!  What is going on with this weather?  It's not supposed to be THIS HOT
for THIS LONG in Ohio, USA!!!  It's so hot & steamy outside, it
feels like I should be able to hear the waves crashing on the shore!!
What the heck!!  LOL!

So, with that being said ... you can find me crafting away in my very cool
(sometimes cold) crafting cave!  We are so bless to have central air!  Today I'm playing
catch up with some design team work but I wanted to create something to share
with you today that also fits a few fun challenges out in blogland.

Over on the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, they are looking for 'Things with Wings' and over on the Imagine That! Creative Playground Challenge, they are looking for 'Fancy Folds or Shaped Cards'. So I decided on a gate fold card with butterflies.

I had already die cut my Memory Box 'Fairyland Butterflies' from white card stock
so decided to achieve color from the background panels which I created using
Ken Oliver Color Bursts.

Here's a peek at the inside . . .
After die cutting my Memory Box 'Thicket Frame' I used the same three Ken Oliver Color Burst colors to achieve my inside frame to house the simple Inkadinkado sentiment.

Other challenges today's card fits:
