Under the Sea

Hello My Friends!
As many of you may know, I am on holiday so with limited time
for crafting, I decided before I left to create a card to share each Monday
showcasing the latest release at the Tutti Designs Store.

For this last 'May Monday Tutti Designs Inspired Post',  I have used four of the new dies in this latest release.

 Those dies are:

Fishing Net
TUTTI-444 Fishing Net

Tropical Fish
TUTTI-450 Tropical Fish

Coral
TUTTI-451 Coral

and Anchor
TUTTI-446 Anchor

I started this creation by making my own background watercolor 'water' paper using Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks (cracked pistachio and peacock feathers) , watercolor paper, a heat gun and a water spritzer bottle.
Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Cracked PistachioDistress Oxide Ink Pad - Peacock Feathers
Next I decided to die cut my fish & coral from scraps of designer paper.  (Guess I should have looked at the name of my 'coral' before die cutting ... mine looks more like SEA WEED!  lol).

I actually could have cut both of these dies from the same orange floral paper, since coral is more that color.  Oh well ... next time!  LOL

I die cut the FISHING NET twice and offset overlaid for dimension.
I've also die cut the ANCHOR three times and adhered together.
Looks like it must be a strong current since everything (including this 'heavy' anchor) is being pulled to one side.   Mr. Fish is keeping an eye on it though ... he doesn't want to get trapped in that net!!

My fish bubbles were created using the Nuvo 'Glossy White' Crystal Drops and Mr. Fish's eye is 'Daffodil Yellow' with a drop of 'Ebony Black'.

Friends ...

Oh my goodness ... here we are on the LAST Friday in May!
Where is the time going?

Hello All and Welcome back to my blog!
Today's card was constructed of several Bits & Bobs laying around on
my work table before venturing out on our vacation so in the
process of cleaning up ... I turned it into a card.  Hope you like it!

The various purple panels that create the background for today's card
were off cuts from other cards & projects, so I pieced
them all together to create my pretty background.

The sentiment was in my stash and I simply gave it a new edge

TUTTI-418 Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangles

The scrap of ribbon comes from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store
and happily I still have one more small piece to use on another creation
sometime in the near future.

A few loops of purple/white Baker's Twine and a
couple Prima flowers is all the embellishment this card needs!
I wanted the sentiment to take FRONT and CENTER!

Wishing you a FABULOUS weekend ahead!
As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Sisterhood of Crafters - Poppies for Memorial Day

It's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Today's hostess is Marsha and the theme she has chosen is:

POPPIES for Memorial Day
What a fabulous theme!
I remember as a young girl going door to door selling Poppies for the V.F.W. since my dad was a Veteran of WWII.  My sister's and I felt it was our patriotic duty to help out in this small way.   And, a few years back one of those poppies mysteriously showed up in my car ... I truly have no idea where it came from.  I figured it must have been my Dad saying Hello!!

Anyways, here's my card . . .

This is a beautiful stamp set by Crafty Secrets that I had never inked up.  Unfortunately they closed their store a few years back, but I still enjoy coloring up some of their sweet images.  Today I used Tim Holtz Distressed Oxide inks for my coloring.  I used the pads, small paint brush and bowl of water.
For the flowers I used 'candied apple, abandoned coral, & wild honey'.
For the stems I used 'twisted citron & cracked pistachio'.
And, for the butterfly, I used 'cracked pistachio and broken china'.

The background mat was also created by brushing 'candied apple' around the outside edge.  A few teal sequins and my card is ready to go!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Ship in a Bottle

Hello My Friends!
As many of you may know, I am on holiday so with limited time
for crafting, I decided before I left to create a card to share each Monday
showcasing the latest release at the Tutti Designs Store.

Obviously my main focus image is the new 'Ship in a Bottle' die.
TUTTI-442 Ship In Bottle
How cool is this die and the ship isn't attached when die cut so you could use it separately from the bottle for a totally different scene.  This would be great for your upcoming Father's Day card too.

I've once again used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for a touch of color.

The 'happy Everything' die is from Penny Black and the birds is a Martha Stewart punch.

It's Fussy & Fancy Time . . .

Hello Everyone!
It's time once again for a new challenge over at the
Today's theme was chosen by our very talented Jo, and our theme is . . .

Favorite Florals

Here's my creation . . .

I love all flowers of course but one of my early on favorites were daisies!
I can remember (way back when) my junior prom dress was teal blue with an umpire waist that had a band of white & yellow daisies.  I think that was my first time having my 'hair done at a salon' and they put fresh daisies in my 'updo' (dating myself I know !  LOL)

So today I've created a card using the Memory Box ' Glorious Gerber Daisies' die.

Memory Box - Dies - Glorious Gerber Daisies

I die cut it twice from scraps of white card stock then colored one panel using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers CT4 and JG1.  I then glued the two panels together for added dimension.

My oval background panel was die cut three times using the Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Oval' dies and adhere together again for added dimension.

Tutti Designs - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Ovals

A few sprigs from the Joy Crafts! #6003/0032 (very old) were cut from white card stock, colored with the same JG1 Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and tucked in behind the base of the daisy die on either side.  Yellow Stickles was used for the flower centers and a wooden butterfly from Tupelo Designs (an order thank you) was added in the upper corner for balance.

Another peek at my finished creation . . .

I hope you've enjoy today's share and will come join in our challenge fun!  See you there!

Double D - Bling It Up!

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Team Darlene is hosting today and the theme is:

Bling It Up!!

Here's the inspiration board I have created to help you get started . . .

I was inspired by the gorgeous pair of sparkly high heels in the lower left corner and came up with this creation . . .

I have used the Tutti Designs 'Floral Shoe' as my focus.

TUTTI-185 Floral Shoe

I've actually die cut this shoe FOUR times ... twice in white for the dimensional panels, once in black as the main shoe and once in silver glitter paper and fussy cut the floral embellishment of the shoe.

I've cut a few framing panels for my background, using white card stock and royal blue glitter paper from the DCWV Glitter Paper Pack.  The die set I used is the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles.
Tutti Designs - Dies - Nesting Stitched Rectangles

To adorn the corner I've used the Yvonne Creations 'Springtastic Corner'.
Yvonne Creations - Dies - Spring-tastic - Corner

And my computer generated sentiment panel was die cut using the Sue Wilson 'Pierced Flags' set.

A royal blue flower from my stash and an added touch of sparkle using Cloud 9 Designs gems
and my card is ready to go.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!

Dies R Us Challenge - BIRDS

Hello Friends!
It's mid month and of course that means it's time for a new challenge

And, the theme is:

BIRDS

Here's what I came up with using dies from the Dies R Us Store.
Don't forget, they carry more than dies now ... paper, ink, etc. etc.  be sure to check it out!

I don't know about you, but I love sitting out on the deck in the summertime and watching the birds!  It is so interesting in how they interact with each other, the way they fly is so different one species to another and their songs!  OMG I could listen to them for hours.

Hubby and I are always trying to pick out the bird that is singing a particular tune ... some of the smallest birds have the loudest song!  AMAZING to watch & hear!
Did you know the Blue Jay has something like seven different calls??

The dies I have used today are:
Penny Black 'Sweetest Sound 2'
Impression Obsession 'Bird on a Branch'
Sue Wilson Design Shadow Boxes 'Stitched Lattice Frames'
Yvonne Creations Moving Madness 'Home Sweet Home'
Poppystamps 'Carolina Birdhouse'
Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares'
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide 'Salty Ocean'
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide 'Lucky Clover'

I first created the background panel using a scrap of a cardbase that I had messed up earlier in the day.  I simply sponged Tim Holtz distress oxide inks on this panel, sprayed with water then dried with my heat tool.  Once nearly dry, I ran it through my embossing machine to straighten it out.  Then adhered it to my card front.

The lattice was actually die cut from a old DCWV muted green designer paper.
The bird house and birds were colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!
YOU might even be the winner of a Dies R Us Gift Voucher!

Thanks for stopping by ...

Fun at the Fish Pond

Hello My Friends!
As many of you may know, I am on holiday so with limited time
for crafting, I decided before I left to create a card to share each Monday
showcasing the latest release at the Tutti Designs Store.

Another quick and easy card but this time, using the 'Fish Pond' die ...

TUTTI-452 Fish Pond

I have used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for my coloring.  I was going for the look of Koi Fish ... not too bad I guess!  LOL   After coloring,  I adhered my die to a scrap piece of the darker blue water paper I used on my card from last Monday ... then fussy cut around it.  The background on this card is a lighter sheet of 12x12 water paper from a huge paper pack also from JoAnn's that a friend gave me before she moved out of the country (thanks Linda Davis)!

The Happy Birthday sentiment die is Sue Wilson 'mini expressions' which was purchased at the Dies R Us Store.
Sue Wilson Designs - Mini Expressions - Happy Birthday
Also from the DRU Store, I've also added a few drops of Nuvo 'Glossy White' and 'Carribean Ocean' Crystal Drops to mimic bubbles.

I plan on seeing some beautiful fish during this vacation and will hopefully be able to share photos.
