It's been years . . .

Happy July 1st Everyone!
My title today refers to a crafting technique which I haven't done in YEARS!  That technique is called the 'Spotlight' technique and, all week I've been wanting to join in the fun over at the Back to Basics and Beyond Challenge Blog where this is their challenge theme.

Finally this morning, after getting all the outside flowers watered, I decided it was time!
Here goes ...

I'm always in need of birthday cards for kids so that was the direction I went when looking through what stamp set I wanted to use for today's card.  The cute image comes from an Inkadinkado set called 'Beautiful Fairies' and my sentiment comes from a Joanna Sheen stamp set called 'Fairy Stamps'.

Here's a close up of the 'spotlight' panel ...

And, since the sentiment mentioned 'sparkle', of course I had to add some sparkle over the top using a glue stick and Glamour Dust.  My sentiment panel was die cut using the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Circle dies and I've colored the edge using coordinating Spectrum Noir alcohol markers that were used on the image.

The frames I have used to showcase this sweet fairy were frames that were laying on my work table from other projects.  They have been popped up over my main fairy stamped panel and the spotlight circle has also been popped up using dimensional tape.

As always ...
