Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

 Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

The wood block stamps I've used today are an old Stampin' Up called 'Morning Soft' and the sentiment which is from The Stamp Pad Company.  Both stamps are very old but still make the prettiest cards ... that's why I actually have TWO cards to share with you today.

Originally I had stamped this Morning Glory image onto my card panel with every intention of doing some overlay paper piecing.  But, once I had my 2nd panel colored & fussy cut (card #2), I just had to use the entire thing for another card . . . a TWO for ONE card day.  LOL

The background paper is from a 'Rainbow Plaid' paper pack from Scrapbook.com.  The polka dot panels on both cards are the cut off scraps from the reverse side of my background panel.

Tombow markers were used for the coloring and the oval is a die set by Tutti Designs.

Why not pop over and check out her blog and play along ... you know you have wood block stamps that need some love just like I do!  LOL

Other challenges to share in:
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #373 - Shades of Blue
Stamps & Fun = Creativity #476 - Flowers

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day ahead!!
As always . . .

Time to Celebrate ...

Hello Friends ...

Even though I've got a busy day ahead of me starting with getting my hair cut & colored as well as a pedicure before leaving on our European Cruise, I wanted to play in a few challenges and here's what I created.

My basic design was inspired by the 'Follow the Leader' challenge over on the AAA Cards Challenge Blog.  Here's their theme & leader's card inspiration:

I've used OLD Scrapbooking stickers to create my HB sentiment along with stamps from the Simon Says 'Birthday Bears - sss202509c' stamp set for the sentiment wording & balloon (I don't see where it's still available at their store ... sorry).  I decided on a birthday card so I could also play along in the Addicted to CAS Challenge #283

and the Inkspirational Word Prompt 'Celebrate' challenge #342.

By playing along in a few blogland challenges, I really didn't have to put a lot of thought into my card today ... the basics were already established for me.

I hope you have a fabulous day ahead and I also hope for my USA friends, that you had a memorable Memorial Day weekend.

an american flag is waving in the wind with the words god bless ameriva below it

As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Going in Circles . . .

Hello Friends ...

I have a fun CAS (clean & simple) card to share with you today that I created with a couple of challenges in mind!

As many of you know, I just LOVE these Ecstasy Crafts toppers and they are perfect for CAS cards.  This one came from the Butterflies on Flowers set.

And today, I've incorporated one of these beauties along with die cut circles to satisfy the theme over on the Alphabet Challenge where the theme is 'C is for Circles'.  I've used the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Circle dies for my design and simply added a mini birthday sentiment (by the Stamp Pad Co).

Other challenges I'd like to share in are:

CAS on Friday #309 - Things with Wings
Seize the Birthday Challenge #306 - Use a Frame

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #250 - Things with Wings (Real or Fantasy)
Creative Knockouts #547 - Real or Faux Stitching (on the frame)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!
I hope you've found inspiration in my creation.

As always ...
