Sisterhood of Crafters - Christmas

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and our theme today is
"It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas"
(Any project pertaining to Christmas)

Here's what I came up with and if you need more inspiration,
by all means pop over to check out what my 'sistahs' have created!!

Once again I have created my own background paper but this time I did it with scrap cut offs from 2 different holiday design papers I used while creating some holiday tissue box covers for an upcoming craft show.

I actually had enough scraps to make two 4x6 panels ... here's a photo of the panel I still have in my stash to use.  (lol ... I didn't think to take a photo of the one I did use! )

Creating these background panels from your scraps is such a great way to use up those mountain of scraps we all have in our crafting studios and very simple to do!
With the panels I had left from the tissue box covers, I simply cut them into 1 1/2" and 1" strips.  Next I took a piece of white card stock (4x6) and started adhering them at an angle from one corner to the other alternating the patterns.  You can do this with as many different panels as you want ... it just happened I had these two in front of me!
Give it a try ...
I have several made using the same 'color palette'
and stored in a clear box for when I need a quick card.

I hope you'll come join in our CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE fun!

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #289 -"BABY CARDS" - 11/08/2015

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!
This week's challenge is:
BABY CARDS

and is sponsored by Imagine That!
One lucky winner will receive THREE digital stamps of their choice from the IMAGINE THAT! STORE.

Today I had fun creating with the adorable image called
 "Sweet Sleep (Boy)".
Not only does this set come with colorable & precolored images, but a variety of sentiments and some beautiful digital papers!  I have used two of those papers on today's creation along with the colorable image which I hand colored using spectrum noir alcohol markers.

How adorable and everything you need in one set!
You gotta love that!

I haven't done any paper piecing in a very long time so decided
it would be a great technique to use today on the baby's blanket.
A little faux stitching around the image edge
also added that personal touch to today's card.
Please be sure to come join in our challenge fun at the
Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by ...

Teen Cards Request ...

Good Evening Everyone!
My last craft show of the year is tomorrow and I'm busy finishing up and getting packed but wanted to share a few cards I created due to the request of a few folks at an earlier show.
I hope to expand on this idea ... we will see how they go at tomorrow's show.

They are Birthday Card for Teens.

I was told that the cards I had identified for children were great but they were all geared to the young ones or little ones and these particular ladies needed cards for their teen age grandchildren.
SO ... ask and you shall receive!!  LOL

I have no doubt tomorrow someone will ask for Age 17 or 18 ... LOL!
But that's okay ... they can place a special order and I can get it for them.

I just happened to spot a challenge at the Cards 4 Galz Challenge blog where the theme is 'for Teenagers' and I must say their DT had some awesome inspiration which I will refer to for my future teenage cards!!

Well I'd better get back to packing the car ... time is flying!!
As always ...

Picture Window Birthday

Hello Friends!
Lately it just seems I can't keep enough Birthday cards available in my stash.  So, I created a fun (what I call) Picture Window birthday card to share with you today.  It's also my inspiration card for the Dies R Us Inspiration blog.

The dies I have used are:
Spellbinder Nestabilities Labels 18

By simply cutting a white panel 1/8" small than my card ... die cutting my opening and popping it up with high profile pop dots I have created my Picture Window where I placed my Birthday sentiment.

I love a white on white creation but by adding a couple red sequins, I think it even more striking.
What do you think?

By using these beautiful dies, this card came together in no time at all.
Give it a try and if you want to CASE this creation, just click on the links above to go directly to their location in the Dies R Us store and place your order.  Unfortunately the SB Labels 18 is a very OLD die set and no longer carried in the store.  But, I have NO DOUBT you will find another die set that will work just as well!
Who knows ... maybe even better!  LOL

Please be sure to join in our challenges at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new theme posted on the 1st and 15th of each month and YOU could be our next lucky winner.

Craft Show Coming ...

Happy Thursday Evening Everyone!
I have my final craft show of the year this weekend so I'm running out of time to make everything I want to have available.  Mainly because of this beautiful weather week!  I just couldn't stay in my cave and be creative when there where still so many things I wanted to get done outside and the weather was just gorgeous!!

So, tonight (after dark which is 5:30 now! Uugh!),
I got busy making some holiday nugget pouches ... 28 to be exact!
Whew!  That's done!  LOL!

I already had these cute Minion Nugget Pouches ready to go!

As well as about 3 dozen Ghiradelli pouches ...

Of course I got busy after my last show which was in September making tissue box covers since I sold out of them and knew I'd have people looking for them.  Hopefully I have enough of a variety to accommodate everyone's wishes.

And last but not least my cards ...

Now to finalize things tomorrow and get everything packed into the car!
Shew ... and I wonder why I'm tired tonight!  LOL!
Anyways ... if you live in the Akron, Ohio area, you can find me at the Green H.S.
on Boettler Road in Green, Oh on Saturday from 9-4.
Wish me luck!
Thanks for stopping by!  As always . . .

 Okay ... so I confess!
I LOVE the colors created using the Ken Oliver Color Bursts

I just can't help but die cut these colorful panels with gorgeous dies like this one from the Sue Wilson 'Festive Collection'.
Oh My Stars!
What a gorgeous set to create with and they die cut so beautifully!  WOWZA!!
A touch of diamond Stickles was added to the center for a touch of sparkle!

The die set I'm referring to is Sue Wilson 'Snowflake Background' #CED3018.  DARN!  At the time of this post, THIS particular die set is Out of Stock (you gotta grab them fast!!!)
you could create something very similar using this die!

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #288 -"ANYTHING FOR THANKSGIVING" - 11/01/2015

Happy Sunday Dear Friends!
it's time for a new, fun challenge at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog!

As you can see by my title, this week's challenge is
ANYTHING FOR THANKSGIVING

The lucky winner of this challenge will receive their choice of 3 Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps from the ROBYN'S FETISH DIGITAL STAMPS AND MORE STORE!   So, you'll want to be sure and join in the fun!!

Today I have used the Robyn's Fetish digi image named "Fall Pumpkin" and I've paired it with an OLD, OLD Inkadinkado stamp sentiment which I fussy cut and popped up to remind us all to BE THANKFUL.
I know myself, there are times when I get down and think "why me" ... then I look around the world and realize I should be saying "thank the Lord for giving me such a wonderful life" ... and be thankful for all the GOOD in my life and forget the few bad things that need to happen to make us realize just how good we have it!!

So, this card is just a reminder to ME (and it will be sitting on the shelf in my crafting cave) to BE THANKFUL for everything in my life ... good and bad ... because you know there is someone out there that has it a whole lot worse and I pray that they can find peace & joy in their lives too.

OKAY ... OFF MY SOAPBOX!

Challenges to share in today:

A Working Girls Birthday Card

Happy Weekend Everyone!
I'm busy, busy creating cards for next week's craft show at the local High School and thought I'd share one with you today that I truly enjoyed creating.
I love all my DT work and special orders, but sometimes it's just fun to design something out of your own head!  No sketch ... no theme ... no special colors ... just ME pulling pieces together and turning it into a card.  THAT is what I have for you today!

Inside View
As always, the cards I have requested most are birthday cards.  Specifically card for the 'ladies'.  Since I'm in need of so many, I turned to my wonderful design papers for inspiration.  Graphic45 has some amazing images/papers that make a quick and fabulous card.  So, that was the direction I went with today.  The paper pack I used today is Graphic45 'Domestic Goddess.

Now let's see if I can find some fun challenges to share my card in:
PDE Linky Party - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge - Anything Goes
Julia Spiri Challenge - Use something Old (Graphic45 paper circa 2009)

Well that's it for me today!
Now I really must get ready for those 150 Halloweeners I'm expecting this evening!  Gosh ... I sure hope I have enough candy!   OH!  And don't forget to TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK tonight!!
As always . . .

MORNING!  HAPPY FRIDAY!
I have a card to share with you today for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I'm happy to say it also fits the Classy Cards 'n Such challenge where the theme is Squirrel-y Friends (squirrel being optional).

This has to be one of my favorite 'Friends' stamps
and it's perfect for this time of year!

The dies I've used today are:
Die Versions 'Wee Petites' FALL #DWP-003
Memory Box 'Pinpoint Square Layers' #30060
Poppystamps 'Frisky Squirrels' #1134

The background panel was created from scraps of fall paper and the

The 'Diamond' Stickles across the top stands for the True friends mentioned in the sentiment.  And, this time I added the 'optional' squirrels ... LOL!  Aren't they cute!

Now I really need to quit fooling around and get busy!

Sisterhood of Crafters - FALL

Hello Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
I'm honored to be your hostess this time around and since FALL is in full swing here in N.E. Ohio, I decided that would be our challenge theme .
Don't you just love the crisp smell of Fall air and the beautiful trees when they are in beautiful Fall color?  I know this means that winter & cold weather is coming soon but for now I'm really enjoying the change of seasons!

For today's card I created my own background paper using Ken Oliver 'Color Burst' then once dried, the Bokeh technique using a homemade circle template, sponge dauber & white craft ink.
My image is colored with Copic markers and the sky background was created with a large sponge dauber and Tim Holtz 'broken china' distress ink.

I created this card while visiting my Michigan crafting friend Diane Hover (Nellie's Nest) and she was kind enough to let me rummage through her stash and I found this fabulous fall image to color.  I also borrowed her Copics to color with since I totally forgot to bring anything to color with myself!  DUH!!!  lol

Peek at the inside.

I hope you'll come join in our SISTERHOOD CHALLENGE and if you need inspiration, by all means come check out what my 'sistahs' have created!  I'm telling you they are one creative group!!  Keeping me on my toes for sure!!

Remember ... as long as you follow the theme of FALL, you can create anything!  Cards, scrapbook layout, mixed media ... whatever strikes your fancy!

Holiday Card Making Time . . .

WOW!  These weeks are just FLYING by!!
Hello friends!
Today I have a card to share that was created for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog using dies from the Dies R Us Store.

I am just LOVIN' all the new holiday dies available at the Dies R Us Store.
Here is just an example of two ...
Sue Wilson 'Festive Collection - Snowflake Mini Striplet' ... #CED3036
(SORRY at the time of write up this die was already out of stock ... but be sure to check out all the other amazing Sue Wilson 'striplets' ...

I took a few liberties with this design!
The background (inside) of the ornament 'pops out',
so I die cut my ornament in one color,
glued it down to a piece of card stock that would match the background BoBunny design paper
and 'fussy cut' around the ornament ... giving it a solid look vs outline.

I also 'clipped' the top swirl from the left & right ornaments
and reattached them to the middle ornament top.  This gave the ornaments a different look (one from the other) and a little more festive flourish in the center.  Then a dab of light blue Liquid Pearls was added here and there.

It's never too early to get those holiday cards started so be sure to run right over to the Dies R Us Store for all your holiday card making dies.  SO MANY companies are showcased, I'm sure you'll be happy you stopped by!

Challenges to share in:
A Snowflakes Promise Challenge - Winter/Christmas
Try It On Tuesday Challenge - Lots of Layers
Crafting From the Heart Challenge - Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - Use the color Blue
Use Your Stuff Challenge - Dies and/or Punches

Don't forget about our Dies R Us Challenge Blog!
New challenges offered on the 1st and 15th of each month.
YOU could be the next lucky winner of a store gift voucher!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and please come check out DIES R US ... you won't be sorry!
