Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

 Hello Friends!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We are busy celebrating the day but didn't want to miss out playing along in today's challenge over on Tsuruta Designs ... Wood Block Wednesday Challenge.

I have chosen a wooden block stamp today that has been in my stash for YEARS and it's one of my favorites for this time of year!

STORY TIME . . .

My dad used to take us three girls to the back of our property each holiday season and let us pick the tree we would decorate for Christmas from the many he had planted when we were each born.  Once we decided (didn't take too long as it was snowing & cold), he would chop it down and we would load it into the back of the truck and drive through our woods back to the house where he would put it in the garage to warm up and he would trim it up so it would fit in the house.  Then we would go in and Mom would have Hot Chocolate ready for us as we were FROZE!!!  LOL  Cherished Memories!!!

This wooden block stamp is by Stampendous and is circa 2013.  And, of course, it's titled 'Christmas Truck'.

After stamping onto white cardstock, I colored the image using Tombow markers then proceeded to fussy cut it with my swivel craft knife.  Pine designer paper (old DCWV) was used for the background and I had this white frame hanging on my 'extras' board so used it to give my truck an anchor.  I did pop up the truck and all the ornaments on the wreath & tree have had sparkle added to them using various colors of Stickles.  I also used yellow Stickles for the headlights ... looks really cool in person!  LOL

The hanging icicles were created using another old item in my stash and that a Martha Stewart 'icicle' punch.  Waterfall Stickles was added to give them that COLD feeling.

A little Hero Arts sentiment which I die cut using a Tutti Designs scalloped circle die and sponged with some TH ink was all that was needed before posting to a friend.

It is so much fun to drag out those old wooden block stamps and create something beautiful!  So glad this challenge exists so I can show some of my MANY wooden block stamps some love!
