Double D - Hearts

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Here's today's theme:

HEARTS

and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

Oh my goodness ... when I saw Diane's inspiration board, I knew exactly what stamp I'd be reaching for to use on today's card.  I've had this stamp in my collection for years now and have only used it once or twice.  It was fun to play with it again!  And of course, with purple being my favorite color, I knew what color I wanted to use also!  With those two things in mind, it didn't take much to create this lovely card which I'm sure I will finish the inside for a wedding card.

I have used a VERY OLD die set for my focus heart ... at least 15 years old ... one of the many die sets we all started out with ... Spellbinder Scallop Hearts.   I die cut the  heart size I wanted to use from violet card stock then I stamped my Sweet Stamps 'Wedding Swans' image on white paper, colored it with Tombow markers and die cut it using the same die.  The only difference is, for the upper portion I fussy cut with scissors around my swans to make them stand out front & center.

OLD OLD lavender pearls & crystal gems were used for some sparkle.  I've popped up the entire heart with dimensional tape. The background paper is from the Paper Rose 6x6 pack called 'Purple Haze'.  The lace is OLD and was from the JAMBO company ... lace roll tape (sticky backed).

You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see you at Double D!

  As always . . .

  3. Your card and post are just a reminder that we need to keep all of your supplies. Right? You are right as this is just the best card suggested by our mood board. It could be a Valentine card, but I love that you will save it for a wedding card.

  7. Wowie, lots of really great stuff here, Darlene! I love the stamp. It's the kind of oldie but goodie I love to haul out and color and design with like it's brand new. I have a similar digi. Really pretty! I also still have the SB scalloped hearts. And wait, what... sticky backed lace? How awesome! Gorgeous paper, too. I told you -- lots of great stuff!

  8. So beautiful, Darlene! Love that scalloped heart and how awesome that you stamped and used it for those lovely swans. They fit perfectly the way you fussy cut the image. The background paper is so pretty and the gems are the perfect touch. I am in love with the purples too! It has become one of my favorite colors recently.

  10. This is so, so pretty. I love your design with the gorgeous swan image placed on that purple heart. The sponged edges and pearls really make it pop. Adding the lace on that gorgeous patterned paper is the perfect final touch.
