Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Here's today's theme:
WATERCOLOR
and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .
What a fun theme ... I don't do this technique nearly enough! I'm always happy with the outcome! Here's what I've created for you today using a product I haven't used in YEARS! That is Ken Oliver 'Color Bursts' and watercolor paper. I don't see where he even carries them in his store any longer.
I actually made two panels ... there was so much color on this panel I placed another watercolor panel on top and smooched them together. I'll use that second panel on another card for the sale boxes.
The floral stamp is from the Penny Black 'Finest Petals' (#31-138) set.
I used an artist brush and a little more water on the stem, leaves and bud to remove a little more of the color. I'm very happy with the outcome. What do you think?
You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

I can certainly see where you got your inspiration. Wow a whole water colored background. I think that's something I could probably do and I should give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty mix of colors makes a pretty card! I haven't used these in years, but they are on 'the list'!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue background with a hint of purple. The pigment powders really create the best watercolor designs. Pretty CAS design.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a gorgeous background--love the colors you achieved! Gosh I really need to use my 'magical powders again'--they long forgotten but I really don't know why! This is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous watercolor background with your Color Bursts! Great idea to remove color from the flower, and what a pretty flower set that is! You have just reminded me of my Ken Oliver Liquid Metal in Yellow Gold which I've only used once, but it's amazing. Must put it on my to-do list!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors you used on the background, lovely job with the color bursts, I haven't used mine in ages either.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous burst of watercolor energy in your Color Bursts panel, and the way you softened the stem and petals creates a beautiful balance between the vivid background and the delicate Penny Black bloom for a striking and artistic design.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background, perfect for the challenge. Sometimes less is more, and this is certainly the case. Thanks for all the inspiration here!!
