A Darling Digi
Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!
OMG I don't know about you but the weather here in NE Ohio yesterday was CRAZY! It's been SO DRY here for weeks and then BOOM! Heavy, heavy rain most all day and even a HAIL storm ... crazy I tell you! I think the God's are really upset with the way of the world right now!!! YIKES!
On a lighter note, I was fortunate enough to be one of the winners selected over on the last challenge offered by Little Red Wagon so respectfully, I wanted to participate again this time around. The fun theme over at Little Red Wagon this time is DIGI DO! (use a digi image)
Isn't this digi cute!
It was drawn by fellow crafter Rachelle and she had it offered up on her blog the other day! I'm always so impressed with people who can just sit down and draw something so easily ... I CAN NOT!!!
I've used Prisma pencils & markers for the coloring and used a simple design to be sure to showcase her beautiful work properly. A simple little sentiment and this note card is ready to go!
Did you notice how the greenery comes up over the frame?
After creating my frame I wasn't happy with how it covered those few leaves so I did a little fussy cutting and brought them up over the front of the frame! Viola!

More slimline fun . . .
Happy Friday Friends!
I know I had this post all written and ready to go for today but when I looked this morning, it wasn't there! Ugh ... you never know what's going on behind the scene of our blogs & FB pages these days! So here we go again ... hope you like it!
This is one of the slimline backgrounds I shared with you last week using a Tim Holtz stencil to create. I FINALLY ventured out to a craft store (Hobby Lobby) and did a little fun shopping. They had all their Paper Studio stickers 50% off so I picked up a few to use in this manner.
I thought this would make a fun birthday card for a little boy. They all like dinosaurs LOL. And I happened to have a couple of '3D cupcake' stickers in my stash so used one on the inside panel.
Dinosaurs & cupcakes ... doesn't get any better than that! LOL
My Happy Birthday sentiment on the front is from Tutti Designs
and the inside verse is by Stampendous.
I hope you have a wonderful day & weekend ahead!
Stay safe & healthy!

Where it all begins for me . . .
Hello friends and welcome back to my blog!
Over this past week I've been having fun creating various 'backgrounds' for my cards! From the stenciled backgrounds for slimline cards that I shared here the other day, to today's fun backgrounds utilizing 3D embossing folders. Talk about quick, easy & impressive!!!
Once again I've used our Rubbernecker penguin friends to
adorn the front of my cards, but this time I cut them apart and used
a couple on one card and one on another card.
But check out these embossed backgrounds ... so much texture and dimension!
LOVE THEM!!
My first card uses the Sizzix 3D 'Winter Snowflakes' (#662287)
The 3D embossing folder used on these two cards is also by Sizzix
and I purchased it through a (new to me online company) called CraftOnline USA
and the folder is called Folk Art Pattern
I love how different it looks using a color card stock vs white!
I will have a few others to share over the next few days so be sure to stop back often!
But for now, I must get some housework done so crafting will have to wait.
Once again, thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge . . .
IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS
(Sentiment as the Focal Point)
I actually had another card started for this challenge then spotted this sentiment that I've had laying around for awhile now and thought it would be perfect for today's theme!
Now, anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE ice cream. Yes I don't have it often because my waistline doesn't like it but when I do (special occasions lol) I truly ENJOY it and there aren't too many flavors I don't like! SO .... if I say I love you MORE than ice cream ... that is saying A LOT!!! LOL
My background was created by using strips of scraps. I took an afternoon a long time ago and went through all my scraps and sorted out those that would work well together. After cutting them into various sized strips, I created background panels. I had totally forgotten about these as they were in a drawer but when I spotted them I figured this would be a quick, easy and delightful way to create today! Your thoughts??

Slimline FUN . . .
Hello Friends and welcome back to my blog!
SO happy you've stopped by today!
I'm telling you . . . I'm having so much fun with these slimline styled cards!
Over the weekend I was playing with some new & old stencils, creating background panels for this style of card and I will finish the fronts/insides as I go along.
What do you think??
Aren't they awesome?
The stencils I have used are all Tim Holtz stencils. And, my mind is running wild with ideas for each & every one of them. Now keep in mind, these particular stencils are NOT QUITE long enough to cover the entire panel but if you're careful, after you do the entire stencil once, you can adjust the stencil on your working panel and finish it to the end. Just takes a little extra time & effort but the results are well worth it!
OR if you notice on the Birch Tree stenciled card, I simply sponged green oxide ink on the extra space to create a grassy area under the trees. Use your imagination ... it's fun!!
Most of my Tim Holtz Stencils were purchased through the Dies R Us store. They have a ton of stencils by various companies ... be sure to pop over and check them out for yourself.
Inside view
Here's one I completed using just a portion of a Clear Scraps 6x6 'Party' stencil for the bottom portion of my slimline card. Leaving room at the top for my birthday sentiment.
I've used various TH oxide distress inks & sponge daubers for my coloring.
The BIRTHDAY panel comes from the Poppystamps 'Jumbled Happy Birthday' die and since the word Happy was too large, I grabbed a smaller 'happy' word from an older Impression Obsession word set I had in my stash.
I die cut the sentiment from a colorful panel I had in my stash from a previous project that was created using various oxide distress inks. There was just enough left for the word and it ties in perfectly!
As time goes by I will share the finished cards using these fun stenciled backgrounds!
If you haven't yet tried these slimline cards, give it a whirl.
Here are the easiest dimensions I've found:
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 7" (scored at 3 1/2") creating a card base 8 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Matting Panel - 8 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Background Panel - 8" x 3"
These slimline cards fit in your everyday Legal sized envelope ... no need to look for special envelopes!
Well there you have it!
That's it for me today ... short & sweet!
Hope you enjoyed it!
As always . . .

Penguin Slimline
Happy Sunday Everyone!
Here's another fun 'slimline' card that I made the other day!
Just to warn you ... I have a dozen 'blank slimline' cards cut and ready to create with! So, you'll be seeing more of this style card over the next month or so! LOL
Are these guys cute or what? LOL
This is an old stamp I bought several years ago (enabled by crafting friend Sandy Egbert) and I thought they worked perfectly with this simple black & white background. The stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamps - CAROLING PENGUINS and I'm happy to say I see it's still available! AND it now has a die available to cut it out (I had to fussy cut mine!). Uh Oh! I see an order in my near future!
I have used an older Sue Wilson die for the sentiment panel as well as a Martha Stewart snowflake punch. I've popped up the sentiment panel with 3M dimensional tape.
Okay that's it for me today ... short & sweet!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Playing with new dies . . .
Happy Weekend All!
The other day I received an order from the Dies R Us store and couldn't wait to play with my new 'schtuff'! LOL A couple of things on my order where new winter time dies from Memory Box and here are a couple of cards I've created using them.
The two dies I'm referring to are Memory Box - Evergreen Sky Collage
and Memory Box - Lamplight Tree Collage
On the first card I created a background using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks on water color paper and spritzed with water. The lamppost panels were taped on the back while still in the die and colored with a marker while still in the die.
For my second card I've used BOTH die cuts and stacked them together using dimensional tape. I've added an extra Martha Stewart icicle punched panel and Diamond Stickles for the sparkle. The cute little deer in the background is Poppystamps 'Cute Fawn'.
OH and I also used another new item. Altenew - Dotted Scales Debossing Cover as my background.
Checkout THIS beautiful Winter Woodland creation by Trina using these dies!

Just Keep Swimming . . .
Hello Friends and Happy Friday!
Today I have a card to share that I created specifically for the 'Use a Stencil' challenge over on the Little Red Wagon Challenge Blog. My friend Doni (Limegreen Giggles) is a DT member there and she has inspired me to join in today! What do you think?
I have used two (never before used) stencils to create today's fun card.
They are Carabelle Studio (TE60053) 'Bubbles'
and Picket Fence Studios (SC-108) 'Ocean of Fish'
from a new (to me) online store called Craft Online USA
The sentiment I found online and simply saved the image then printed it onto glossy paper and die cut it using one of the smaller Tutti Designs Scallop Stitched Nesting Squares dies.
Here are a few other challenges I'd like to share this creation in:
NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) August Challenge - Anything Goes
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #251 - Gone Fishing
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #285 - ATG / Masculine Twist
Well, that's it for me today!
Here's wishing you a fabulous Friday and wonderful Weekend ahead!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
