A.R.T. #16 - Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Thursday dear friends!

It's time for another fun challenge at the

Today's Theme is one of my favorite . . .
ANYTHING GOES
As I commented on our last challenge, I'm in desperate need of masculine cards in my 'birthday' collection for the upcoming Fall season craft shows.  So ... again, today I'm taking advantage of our theme and have created another Masculine Birthday card.  Hope you like it!

I have really kept this card EASY PEASY with simply sponging 3 colors of Tim Holtz distress ink across a white piece of cardstock then stamping my Stampscape images to create this calming scene.    I restamped the focus image on the inside of the card using SU River Rock ink and positioned my sentiment and birds over top.
What guy (or girl for that matter) wouldn't like to spend his (or her) birthday in a quiet forest, in a cabin (fully furnished and comfy of course!) on a beautiful calm lake!?!  Aahhh, I feel more relaxed already!
ANYWAYS ... where was I??  Oh yea!  I'm looking forward to having you join in our challenge fun and by all means, if you need more inspiration, be sure to check out the amazing creations by my team mates!!  What a talented group of ladies!!!

A few additional challenges:
The Male Room Challenge #5 - Animal/Bird/Fish (must be masculine)
Paper Pretties - No Design Paper
Rhedd and Rosie Challenge - Something for the Men
Whimsy Stamps September Challenge - Masculine

Thanks SO MUCH for all your support and for just taking the time to stop by!  I so appreciate it!!
As always and until next time . . .

As you can see by my title, today's theme is:

BABY GIRL

I have had this Serendipity Stamp for several years and I just think it's adorable and fun for paper piecing.  What do you think??

For the inside of my card I was just going to stamp one set of booties with this sweet Impression Obsession stamp and position the sentiment over top ... but then when it didn't stamp correctly (dang!) I decided to stamp all over the inside cover in hopes of making my 'boo boo' less obvious!  LOL!  Have you ever done that????  Grrrrr!

Anyways ... I think it looks pretty cute and hopefully the recipient will too!

A.R.T. #13 Color Combo Challenge

Happy Thursday dear friends!

It's time for another fun challenge at the

 Today's Theme Is:

'You know you have a LOT of designer paper when you can find a piece with all the right colors in it for your challenge card!'  LOL!!
Here's what I'm talking about . . .

This beautiful background paper comes from my new 'favorite' the Paper Studio Kirby Teesdale Studio pack.  Isn't it awesome!  I simply added this fun 'Stampabilities' verse with matching cardstock mattings, a Cheery Lynn Designs flourish and Hobby Lobby flower ... VIOLA!

Doesn't get much easier than that!
I decided to leave the inside of this card blank because I think it could be used for a variety of occasions!  I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun and by all means, if you need inspiration, be sure to check out the amazing creations by my team mates!!

A.R.T. #7 Challenge

Another week is drawing to an end and today I have another fun creation to share with you for the A.R.T. (A Random Thursday) Challenge.  We have an easy one for you this week ...

ANYTHING GOES!!

I always love this challenge because it's lets me get caught up on some of the theme cards I need (you know, like trapping two mice in one trap, LOL)!

I was in need of some baby cards so that is my theme for the day . . .

I am so pleased with how this card came together!
I had recently purchased some sentiment stamps through Jo-Ann Online (50% off sale) and this sentiment is from one of those stamp sets (the other one is all about laughter).  I just LOVED these baby shoes so stamped them twice, once on the tag and once on pink paper.  Did a little fussy cutting, colored the ribbon and stitching then popped them up ... too cute!!  I thought a little faux stitching to match the stitching on the booties was just the perfect finishing touch.  What do you think??

Other challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Punches and/or Dies
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Baby

Please be sure to pop over and check out what my teammies have created for your inspiration today!  And then I hope you'll come join in our fun!  Just click the link HERE to pop right on over to the A.R.T. Challenge Blog!

Hope to see you there!
Until then and as always ...

Edit:  Oh My Gosh ... I totally forgot to show you the inside of this card
(yep ... still trying to keep up with my New Years resolution)!

Recipe for my card:

Accessories:  Jo-Ann's baby pink satin ribbon, glue dots, Martha Stewart Floral Vine border punch, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, xPress It foam mounting tape
Technique:  faux stitching

A.R.T. #6 Challenge

Hello my friends ...

Today we have a sketch for you ...

We are thrilled to have a VERVE STAMPS as our sponsor this week.
For my card, I have used the Verve Stamp set #vs-09-011 'Everlasting Life'.

I don't have an inside view to share with you since I decided to leave it blank.  I thought possibly someone might like to use this card as an encouragement note card, so I wanted to leave plenty of room for their personal message.

The design paper I have used for this card is from the PinkPaislee 'Butterfly Garden' collection and I've used SU Old Olive for my matting panels.  A touch of shadowing around the cross and a few pearls and Viola!  Done!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!  I like this simple yet elegant sketch design and hope you do too!
Need more inspiration?  By all means go check out what my teammates have created!  They are fabulous!!!

Just click the link HERE to pop right on over to the A.R.T. Challenge Blog!
Hope to see you there!
Until then ... and, as always ...

A.R.T. #5 Challenge

Are you ready for another fun challenge at A.R.T. (A Random Thursday) Challenge Blog.

Today our challenge is one that a lot of crafters struggle with . . .

MASCULINE BIRTHDAY

I must admit I enjoy making masculine cards but I know a lot of my friends struggle with this style.
Today I really took the EASY WAY OUT and used a stamp set designed for the MEN in our lives.

I also love working with plaid paper as the base for a masculine card and since I had both of these design papers in my SCRAP box ... what better place to start!   The stamp set I have used is from JustRite and after stamping and fussy cutting, I colored in the stripes, rope & scroll with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

Once again I've succeeded in keeping my New Years Resolution to finish the inside of my cards.  I think the reason I have so much trouble with this is because I don't know what sentiment I want to put on the inside unless I actually have a person in mind to send it to!
In this case, JustRite made it easy for me as this sentiment is part of the set.

Here are a few other challenges I'd like to enter:
Lady Anne's #10 - Anything Goes (must stamp)
Nutcrafters #47 - One for the Boys
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Paperminutes - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today and I truly hope you'll come share your MASCULINE BIRTHDAY creations with us at A.R.T.

Have a wonderful, creative day and as always . . .

Recipe for my card:

Papers:  Kraft cs, Paper Pizazz dp, White cs, Burgundy cs
Stamps/Ink:  JustRite 'Anchors Away' #CR-03710, Versafine Onyx
Accessories:  Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Spellbinder Classic Ovals, Fiskars swivel craft knife, xPress It Foam Mounting Tape, Tim Holtz black distress marker for doodling on inside

A.R.T. #4 - Color Challenge

It's time once again for a new challenge over at A.R.T. (A Random Thursday) Challenge Blog.

Today we have a COLOR CHALLENGE for you, using this image as inspiration:

Aren't these beautiful colors?
Be sure to pop over to the challenge blog and check out the AMAZING inspiration samples from the team!  I'm telling you ... these gals are really outdoing themselves!!!  You can also find links to their blogs in my Design Teams Tab located under my header.

Here's what I came up with . . .

I just LOVE Graphic45 design paper and that is what this entire creation (minus the feathers of course!) is made from.  In fact, I have used papers from 2 different paper packs, which are listed in the recipe at the bottom of my post.

I must confess that I have kind of 'fallen off the wagon' on my New Years Resolution to complete the inside of my cards as I am creating them . . . Darn that Summer Time weather!!  So, I am trying to get back on track and here's a peek at the inside of today's creation.

I hope to see you over at A.R.T. and until then, have a fabulous day!

As Always . . .

Recipe for my card:

Papers:  White cs, Graphic45 'Once Upon A Springtime' and 'A Ladies Diary'

Accessories:  xPress It Foam Mounting Tape, Feathers, Fiskars Swivel Craft Knife
