Tootin' My Own Horn ...

I'm not one to go around "Tootin' My Own Horn", but guess who the Featured Stamper over on Splitcoast Stampers is today???? Do you give up, LOL ????

YEP ... IT'S ME!!!

How cool is that! I'm so thrilled and honored!!

Imagine the surprise when I went online early this morning to see who the FS was and pick a card to case ... only to see MY NAME ! WOW !!! It's going to be a GREAT day!!! And I know this because my dear, sweet husband, Mark, actually got up early to take me OUT for breakfast ... and HE drove (hasn't driven in over 4 months) ... then on the way back to the truck from the restaurant I found a penny on the ground ... and you know what they say about that!!! "Find a penny pick it up ... all the day you'll have good luck!!"

Doing the HAPPY DANCE .... Can you tell I'm excited???

Featured Stamper & PCP Crafty Secrets Challenges

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

YES, I will be going back to the WHOLE FAMILY family reunion later this afternoon but first I have creations to share with you all.

Sunday is always the Featured Stamper Challenge over on SCS and today's honoree is Joanne (JoJot). Joanne is an amazingly talented stamper and it was really fun going through her gallery to pick a card to case ... not EASY mind you ... but FUN!! The card I chose can be seen HERE and I've kept the basic layout but changed the theme, colors and size as well as added ribbon and paper piecing. A couple little extras I did here were to paper piece the main image flower and to cut out the upper corner flower from the backside of the one designer paper.

Here are the details on this card:

Stamps: SU Bloomin' Beautiful, StampCraft

Papers: Whisper White, Soft Sky, SU Urban Garden dp

Inks: Versafine black

Accessories: Nestabilities, Paper Piercer / template, swivel craft knife, Creative Memories decorative corner punch, dimensionals, Making Memories brads, Offray ribbon

Every Sunday morning I have the pleasure of hosting the challenge over on the Papercraft Planet for the Heartwarming Vintage/Crafty Secrets Group. This week it's all about RIBBONS.

There is NO stamping on this card and for my main focus, I have used an image from the Crafty Secrets HOMEMADE images & journaling notes pack. The eggs were on the lower (journaling) portion and I've used my Fiskars swivel craft knife to cut them out to add to the bottom corner. I'm sure you can't read what is written on the eggs so let me tell you what they say ... "Health, Happiness, Prosperity". I've used some gorgeous ribbon I was fortunate enough to receive from the lovely Sharon Johnson during our Stamp Simply Get Together last month over in Shipshewana, IN. I've also used the BOW EASY tool which I purchased from Sharon's store to make this lovely bow. The papers I have used for this creation are Crushed Curry, Only Orange and SU Tea Party dp.

Well ... guess I'd better get going or I'll be late for the reunion!! Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back later with a couple other challenge cards for you to hopefully be inspired by!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Every Sunday over on Splitcoaststampers (SCS), there is a Featured Stamper Challenge. Where one lucky SCS stamper is chosen to be honored that week and the rest of us visit their gallery and choose one of their cards to case. What fun ... and a good way to take the time and visit other crafters galleries.

Today's Featured Stamper is Joanne (SleepyinSeattle). Joanne has a wonderful gallery chocked full of awesome creations and projects! THIS IS THE CARD that I chose to case today. I kept her basic layout but pretty much changed everything else.

Details for this card:

Stamps: Inkadinkado, Serendipity, Verses Rubber Stamps (inside), Penny Black (inside), AMuse (inside)

Papers: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Basic Grey (sugared) dp

Inks: Versafine black, Pink Pirouette (inside)

Accessories: Spellbinder Nestabilities (ovals & scallop ovals), Basic Grey half pearls, Bucket O'Buttons, Prima flowers, SU scallop border punch, Offray grosgrain ribbon, SU watercolor pencils and blender pen, dimensional tape

For the inside of my card I've used a scrap piece of the Basic Grey sugared designer paper which I've punched with the SU scallop border punch to embellish the top. I've stamped the Penny Black butterflies in Versamark and again in Pink Pirouette before stamping the Verses Rubber Stamp sentiment on top with Versafine black ink. The little happy birthday sentiment is by AMuse.

On a different note:
Through out my DH's cancer journey and stem cell transplant over this past year, you folks have helped to keep my mind occupied and given me so much support! Several have asked how my husband is doing these days since I've not been posting an update every whipstitch. Well, even though he's still on that long road to recovery, we were thrilled last week to hear the results of his latest PetCT Scan --- ALL CLEAR ... NO SIGNS OF CANCER!!! Praise God!! Thank you again for all your prayers and support! God Bless You!!

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge

Happy Sunday to you All!! It's kind of rainy & dreary here in N.E. Ohio today ... I hope the sun is shining where you are!! Since I can't play outside ... what better to do than PLAY inside with paper & ink!! So today I'll have two cards to share with you.

Today's Featured Stamper over on the SCS Featured Stamper Challenge is Teresa (va.sunshine) and HERE is Teresa's card I chose to case. I've kept the basic layout with a slight change in the sentiment placement. I've also changed the theme from Christmas to a Masculine (possibly birthday) creation.

I just LOVE my Stampscape images for masculine cards ... so easy peasy! And this scrap of DCWV designer paper I had laying on my worktable seemed to be the perfect masculine background panel. Here are all the details on this creation:

Stamps: Stampscapes, It's the Little Things Rubber Stamps, Penny Black
Papers: Close to Cocoa, Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, DCWV dp
Inks: Versafine black, Old Olive
Accessories: SU ribbon, SU watercolor pencils/blender pen, dimensionals, detail clear ep, SU slit punch, Nestabilities, Making Memories olive drab brads

For those of you who enjoy seeing the inside of the card as well as the outside, I've been trying to accommodate you!! I don't always finish a card until I have someone in mind to send it too (try to make it more personal) ... but where I can, I've been trying to be a little more creative with my INSIDE card and share it with you. I see more & more ladies being VERY creative with the inside of their creations as well as their envelopes and I think they are on the right track ... truly makes that creation even MORE special to the recipient. (click on photos for larger view)
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you again real soon!
