Penny's Challene #15 - Sketch #5

Happy Day Everyone! It's time again for Penny's Challenges and today we have a sketch to play with! I do hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and play along! Who knows, YOU just might be out next FEATURED PROJECT specialist!!! Remember, when you are uploading your card/project to other online galleries (PCP, SNR, SCS), please use the code "PC15" and don't forget to share it with us back on Penny's Challenge Blog by adding a DIRECT LINK to Mr. Linky.

Now, on to today's creation! When I began thinking about what to create with Penny's sketch, I saw these 3 trees laying on my worktable and thought "UH HUH!!! They will work quite nicely"!! So it began....

These trees where created using my new Spellbinder's Shapabilities (Nested Pine Trees) along with Gold & Silver Metallic cardstock. I've added Stickles to "decorate" them up a bit. The holly border is a stamp by Outlines Rubber Stamps Co. and I've used a green (though it looks black) Prismacolor marker for the holly and silver Stickles for the berries. My "Merry Christmas" sentiment is by Inkadinkado.

Pretty easy peasy for a holiday card but I'm happy with it!! Here's a peek at the inside if you're interested. I'm not always good about "completing" my cards (bad!!) until I'm ready to send them ... not always a good thing to do! I figure I'll definately be sending all the Christmas cards I'll be making over the next month ... so why not save myself some hassle and have them all "READY TO GO". The sentiment is by Great Impressions and the snowflake border is by EK Success.

Before you go ... please take the time to hop on over to my co-team members blogs to see what they have created with this fun sketch! You can find all the links on my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having an AWESOME day!!! I'll be watching for your addition to Mr. Linky and will be sure to CHECK IT OUT!!!

Penny's Challenge #14

Are you ready for another FUN-FILLED Penny's Challenge??? Today we are to use a WINTER THEME and a recipe of RIBBON & SPARKLE. See, I told you it was a FUN challenge!!

I purchased this image last year and thought it was the perfect time to "get it dirty"! First I created my A-6 size base card from Whisper White cardstock and stamped it using Soft Sky blue SU ink and AMuse snowflake stamp to create my background.

For my main image panel, I stamped this Serendipity image onto Whisper White cardstock with Versafine black ink. Punching a circle with my Creative Memories circle punch, I adhered it temporarily to create a moon in the sky. Then using a sponge applicator, I swiped back & forth using 1st - soft sky ink, 2nd - not quite navy ink and 3rd - versafine black ink. Removed my circle piece and there was a MOON in the evening SKY. Next I used green & brown Prisma pencils to do a little coloring on the trees and buildings. Lastly, I dabbed over the sky and the building roofs with a Quickie Glue pen and Prisma Glitter.

For added sparkle, I used red-line sticky tape on the top & bottom of the base card and added PKGlitz "meadow green" gliter glitz. (sorry it looks black in the photo) My ribbon is by Offray, purchased as Michael's last holiday season and the bow was created with the "Bow Easy" which I purchased from Sharon Johnson's Store. For the sentiment I used "Happy Holidays" which comes from the Stampin' Up "Frosty" set.

I truly enjoyed creating this card today and I hope you are inspired to play along in our challenge. Please be sure to check out my co-team members blogs for more inspiration. You can find links to their personal blogs on my sidebar. Remember ... once your creation is completed, be sure to go the Penny's Challenges Blog and add a DIRECT LINK to Mr. Linky! Your creation may be chosen as the "FEATURED PROJECT"!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today ... I always enjoy your visits!!

Penny's Challenges - Halloween Theme

Today's challenge on Penny's Challenges is to create using a Halloween Theme. With Halloween being "right around the corner" I was having fun playing with all my "trick or treat" goodies. Now I just have to remember to put them in the mailbox for friends and family to enjoy!!

For today's card I have used a Trick or Treat Bag digi image by Reece's Designs [April] from the Digital-Ink Co. Shoppe. I've colored my Trick or Treat Bag using Prisma pencils and Gamsol. Nestabilities (Labels 1) created my panel & matting. Background paper is from DCWV and my Bat & Pumpkin Man are dimensional stickers by Miss Elizabeth which have been hanging out in my Scrapbooking Stickers Box for ages!!!

I'm very happy with this little creation and hope you like it too!! Why not join us in today's challenge then direct link your Fun Filled Halloween Creation back to Mr. Linky at Penny's Challenges Blog. If you are uploading to an online gallery (PCP, SCS, etc.) please use the keyword/tag number "PC12". I can't wait to see what you come up with and I'll be sure to stop by and take a peek!!

Thanks to my friend Kim (Memories in Thyme) for letting me know that the challenge this week over on Design Dollies is the colors black, purple and green. This creation sure fits that bill so I'll be popping right over to enter it into the fun. Why not pop over and check it out for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by today ... hope to see you again soon!!

Penny's Challenge #11

Well here we are at Wednesday already and that means it's time again for Penny's Challenges. Today's challenge is :

Autumn themed Project.

The only catch is that your project

MUST include trees.

Thanks to all of you who have been playing along in our challenge!! It's great fun to go visit new blogs and be inspired by all the awesome talent out there in blogland! I hope you join us again this week and the weeks to come ... Penny has some great challenges in store for you!!! Here is my creation for today's AUTUMN with TREES challenge ... what do you think??? This was VERY EASY and great fun!! I simply took a piece of white cs (4" x 5 1/4") and using white sponge pods (1 for each color) started with my old olive and swiped the color across the bottom on the panel ... then moving up with really rust ... next layer, more mustard and finally summer sun. Using Versafine black ink, I've stamped my Rubber Stampede tree image three times (center, left, right) to created my scene. Added the geese & verse (both from Stampscapes), mounted to a black card base and Viola!!! my card is complete.
I hope you'll try this easy technique for creating an autumn scene and upload it to Mr. Linky at Penny's Challenge Blog. If you're uploading to other online gallerys (SCS, PCP, etc.) please use the keyword "PC11". Please be sure to check out the inspirational creations from the other design team members listed below and show them a little comment love:

Penny's Challenges #10

WOW ... where is the time going??? Today's challenge over on Penny's Challenges is an INSPIRATIONAL challenge and we were to use this beautiful blouse as the inspiration for our creations. I don't do a lot of this type of challenge so this was great fun!!

Please be sure to pop on over to my co-team members blogs and check out their inspirational creations. You can find all the links on my sidebar! And of course be sure to add YOUR creation to Mr. Linky over on the challenge blog for your chance to be "Featured Project".
For my card today, I've used an image I purchased while on my little N.C. trip recently. It is by Impression Obsession and I just love the simplicity of it! The sentiment is by the Artist Stamper which was stamped using Garden Green ink and the image coloring was done with Prisma pencils. I wanted to pick up the dotted swiss & stitching in the blouse so I've used my Cuttebug Swiss Dot embossing folder for the Garden Green panel ... then using a Signo white pen, did my faux stitching. This lovely pristeen white flower is by the Paper Studio and my large garden green brad is by Making Memories.
What a fun challenge ... I do hope you find the time to play along! Thanks so much for stopping by today ... I hope your day is filled with joy & laughter.

Penny's Challenges #9

Welcome to Wednesday! Time for another Penny's Challenge and today it's a SKETCH challenge. And a very easy peasy sketch I must say! Although I have to admit this sort of sketch can give me more trouble than a multi-layer sketch ... huh, what's up with that????

Don't forget Penny does a "Featured Project" each week ... be sure to click on the "Featured" tab at the top of the challenge blog ... YOU might be this week's featured project!!! Be sure to play along and add your creation to Mr. Linky for this opportunity!! Now onto this week's creation.
The snowflake designer paper I've used for today's creation is from the Paper Patch and although it looks black in the photo .. it is actually a very dark navy blue. My sentiment stamp is by Sarasota Stamps and was stamped onto Whisper White paper with Versafine Majestic Blue ink. A double matting of Navy & Red cardstock and TADA ... card complete!! Now how easy was that!!!
You don't want to miss the designs created by my team mates! You can find all their blogs listed on my sidebar. They would love to have you visit!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and having a peek at my creation! Have a great day!!

DH UPDATE: Just a quick note to let you all know that with each passing day Mark is getting stronger and starting to feel a little more "normal". His exhaustion has lessened and his appetite is getting better. In fact, at our visit with the Oncologist this past Monday, Mark asked if the doctor thought it would be okay for him to try going back into the office and try working half days. I'm happy to say that today I took the proper forms over to the Oncologist for his OKAY and Mark will start going into the office beginning Monday. Even though I know it's going to be a difficult week for him because he still does get tired easily ... I'm really glad to see that he's wanting to "get his life back to normal!"

Thanks for still praying for Mark ... we appreciate it SO MUCH!! For him to be going back to work only 4 months after a major transplant ... I'm very proud of him and the support & prayers from all of you is what has got us to this point! BLESS YOU!!
