Outlawz - Twisted Thursday Challenge

Happy Thursday my Friends!
Another week nears the end and today ends my stretch of guest designing for the Twisted Thursday Challenge at the Outlawz!   It's been a fabulous ride and I can't thank Patricia St. Martin enough for asking me to join in!  What a wonderful group of ladies!!

Today's challenge TWIST is:
THINGS THAT FLY!

This month's sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps and I chose an image named 'GabbyBalloons' as my focus today! Isn't she the cutest little thing!

For today's card I took a dive into my scraps bin and here's what I came up with.
Unfortunately, when using scraps, I don't always have the manufacture name ... sorry about that!!
Not only did I dig around for papers that would work well together, I also blew the dust off my scrapbook sticker stash to come up with the birthday elements that matched in with this adorable image.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the die cut used is Cheery Lynn Designs - Polynesian Sails Oval.  The center actually cuts out of this die so I hand cut this scrap lacy panel to use for my sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you've liked what you see!
Have a fabulous day and glorious weekend ahead!
Until next time . . .

Outlawz - Twisted Thursday

Hello Everyone!
I'm so excited to once again be Guest Designer for the Twisted Thursday Challenge at the Outlawz!
This challenge is Anything Goes but with A TWIST.

Today's Twist is:  Die Cuts/Punches

This month's sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps and I chose the digi image named 'Truckin' as my focus today!  And I've used a variety of dies/punch to create my scene.

OH BOY!  These dogs are so busy chasing this truck that they don't even see that rabbit up ahead on the roadway!  But this truck driver sure has his eye on it!  LOL!

What fun I had creating today!
Here's a list of the dies/punches I have used:

Martha Stewart -Three in One butterfly punch
Poppy Stamps - Massa Leaf Outline #1023 (cut twice in two shades of green)
Impression Obsession - Dogs #DIE170
Impression Obsession - Bunnies #DIE168

The 'sky' background paper is from Stampin' Up and the 'gravel road' paper is from DCWV.  I've used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for my coloring and my trusty Fiskars swivel craft knife for the fussy cutting.  I did add a bit of dimension using pop dots on the digi image and brown dog.

A few challenges:
Oldie but A goodie Challenge - Hats (design paper & butterfly punch OLD)
Created With Love Challenge - For the Love of Critters
Digi Makeover Challenge - Anything Goes (must use digi)

I hope you've enjoyed my card today and will come join in the challenge fun!
Till next time ...

Birthday Blessings . . .

It's time for a new Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz.
Today's challenge is Anything Goes - Twist/ Birthday
and today's sponsor is NiceCrane Designs.

INSIDE
The cute image used on today's card is from Nice Crane Designs 'Sweetie Kids II' sheet.

The colorful papers I chose to use with this cutie pie image are from Basic Grey ... Marrakech and June Bug paper packs (one from each).  As you can see, I cut them both the same size then cut them diagonally so I could repeat the pretty patterns on the inside of the card as well as the front.

Once again I've been able to use up some of the scraps on my work table.  After stamping my JustRite sentiment and die cutting using Spellbinder classic ovals die, I grabbed a few 'scrap' oval cuts (have a box full) and layered a few behind my sentiment for matting ... turned out kind of cute don't you think??

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to create my bow today.
Works so great when I'm trying to make a SMALL bow with a little wider/heavier ribbon!!
I like using my Bow Easy also ... but sometimes I have trouble pulling the ribbon tight because the plastic tool flexes.  It's nice to have OPTIONS!!!

A few challenges to share in:
Feeling Crafty Challenge #27 - Anything for a Child
Digi Chooseday Challenge #15 - Use 2 papers
 Everybody-Art-Challegne - Anything Goes
Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party #8 - Anything Goes

I hope you'll come join in the challenge fun over at The Outlawz!!
They offer a different challenge each day of the week!!
Can you say FUN!!

Thanks for stopping by ... see you again real soon!

Outlawz Twisted Thursday

Happy Thursday Friends ...
another week drawing to a close!
I'm thrilled again this week to be sharing a card I've created as guest designer at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge.   Remember this is an ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE with a TWIST.
This week's TWIST is to create a GATE FOLD CARD!

I really enjoy creating gate fold cards but I must admit, I don't do it often enough.
Today's challenge was a great opportunity to get back into making a few fancy fold cards for my stash!  And of course, with flowers in the image, I just HAD to make some homemade flowers that matched in.  So easy but such a great embellishment!

Our sponsor this month is Nicecrane Designs and once again I chose one of the lovely bird images from the FASCINATING BIRDS sheet for the focus on my card.

The inside of today's card has slightly decorated to match in with the front panels
and can be used for a variety of themes!  By simply 'notching' around the circle pattern on my design paper scrap piece, I was able to achieve a divider line for my sentiment/signature.

Earlier I mentioned the flower embellishments.  They and my faux stitching are actually the only embellishments on this card.  Of course this beautiful image speaks for itself and doesn't need much more in the way of embellishment.
For the flowers I have used the Memory Box 'Petal Party' #98304 die set which I purchased through Dies R Us.  By simply die cutting them on white card stock, sponging a bit of SU 'more mustard' ink in the center and conditioning the petals lightly with a stylus ... these 'matching' flowers were created in no time.  The centers were adorned with Kaiser ivory pearls.
The faux stitching was created with a white Gelly Roll pen!

Hope you'll give this fancy fold a try!
Have a fabulous day!
Until next time ...

Outlawz Twisted Thursday

Hello Friends ... how are you?
Today I'd like to share with you a card I have made for my guest design spot over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge.
Remember ... this is an ANYTHING GOES challenge with a TWIST.
Today's TWIST is to create using your favorite color!

Well, if you know me at all, you know my VERY FAVORITE color is PURPLE ... but what you don't know about me is that I also LOVE YELLOW!
In fact, when we moved into our house I painted the kitchen YELLOW ... then I painted it PURPLE ... then I RE-painted it YELLOW again (all in a 10 year time span, lol).

Our sponsor this month is Nicecrane Designs and I have used one of the lovely bird images for the focus on today's card.  It comes from the FASCINATING BIRDS sheet.
These images are just fabulous for quick and easy card creating.
And can be used for a variety of themes!

Sharing with the following challenges:
Cheery Lynn Designs - Back to Nature
Creative Moments #39 - Anything Goes with Wings

Outlawz Twisted Thursday

Hello my friends!
I'm thrilled to say that I am once again the guest designer for the Twisted Thursday Challenge at the Outlawz!  This challenge is always ANYTHING GOES but with a twist!
And, today's twist is to use a BUTTERFLY on your creation.

Nicecrane Designs is our sponsor and I have chosen one of the adorable images
from his 'Children Paintings Vol II' sheet as my focus.

Isn't this just the cutest picture!!

Lately I've been trying desperately to grab from my scrap pile when creating my cards.
Otherwise, my pile becomes a mountain of paper pieces!

The base panel is a left over piece of design paper from Crafty Secrets 'Printable Forget Me Not Digital Paper - DP-224'.  The second panel is a left over strip of Graphic45 'Secret Garden' paper which I've dressed up the edges by punching with Fiskars 'Scallop' border punch and inked the edges with TH 'vintage photo' distress ink.

The matting behind the image is also a scrap ... Paper Pizazz design paper.  My butterflies were die cut with the Cheery Lynn Designs DL-112 Exotic Butterflies small die set.  A touch of Purple Stickles adds a bit of sparkle to their wings.  Elizabeth Crafts gold corner stickers & a little gingham ribbon finish off this simple yet adorable creation.

I'm always amazed at what can be created from a pile of scraps ... I truly need to dive into this pile even more than I have been!  Instead of grabbing for that full sheet (hence creating myself even MORE scraps) ... I need to go the other direction and grab for the scraps FIRST!

Here are a few challenges to share in:
4 Crafty Girls #14 - Anything Goes
Art Impressions #132 - Getting Girly
MilkCoffee Challenge - Welcome Spring
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Creative Moments #39 - Anything Goes twist/Things with Wings

Thanks for stopping by today ... hope you've been inspired by my card
and hope you'll come join in the fun!

Easter Greetings

Happy Saturday Everyone!
This morning I finally got around to creating a card for the new challenge over at Craft Hoarders Anonymous.  The theme for this challenge is Vintage/Retro and Graphic45 is their sponsor!

Well, you know I LOVE Vintage design and Graphic45 is one of my favorite vintage style design paper companies so this challenge was right up my alley.  Although I must say, I didn't have to put a lot of effort into this card!  All the 'pieces' came from the Graphic45 'Sweet Sentiments' and 'Secret Garden' 8x8 paper packs.  A touch of gingham ribbon and pop dots was pretty much all that was required to put this card together!

How quick/easy & awesome is this!
With doing an unexpected craftshow in a couple of weeks, I'm scurrying about trying to be sure I have enough SPRING styled cards ready so I think I'll be 'whipping up' a few more of these beauties.

With all the square cuts, I wanted to add a little more dimension, so I tucked the lower corner images up underneath the focus image and POPPED up the Easter greeting panel. The gingham ribbon was tied around the 1st layer of matting and by moving the pop dots back a bit on the focus panel, it gave room to tuck in these adorable ticket panel images.

I also overlaid another one of the 'ticket' images in the upper right corner.
What do you think?
It has actually taken me longer to type up this post then it did to make the card!  LOL!

Here are a couple more challenges I'd like to share with:
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes twist/favorite color (purple)
Your Next Stamp Challenge - Photo Inspiration
Annabelle Stamp Challenge - Color Inspiration
Sister Act Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
We have some Pittsburgh family members coming to visit and spend the night with us so I'm really looking forward to that!  Hopefully the weather will hold up for their trip over!

A Pocket Full of Posies . . .

Hello my friends!
I have such exciting news to share with you today!
I was so thrilled when Patricia St. Martin asked me to be guest designer over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenges that I nearly fell off my chair!
Yep ... today I'm their guest designer and honored to do so!!

Anyways ... the TWIST for this week's challenge is:
A Pocket Card or a Pocket to Your Card

I decided to make a DOUBLE POCKET card and couldn't wait to color/create with this adorable image by Anne Fenton ... isn't she just the sweetest thing!
I know I have directions for pocket cards around here somewhere (note to self ... must get all those instruction sheet in one binder) but since I couldn't locate them quickly I jumped over on Pinterest and found instructions for this double pocket card over on Judy Rozema's blog (Joy in a Jar).

Even though the cute little tags in the front pockets have room for a short note, I wanted to be able to stamp a message and write a little something too ... so attached my pocket card to an actual A2 card base made with SU Groovy Guava cardstock.  And, of course since I had this scrap piece & length of floral paper from the same 'Secret Garden' paper pack, I just had to put them to use on the inside.

A few additional challenges:
Everybody Art Challenge #267 - Ribbon and Lace
Party Time Tuesday #161 - Anything Goes
Love to Create - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
DL.Art Thankful Thursday #127 Challenge - Image of a girl or lady

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you'll check out this fun challenge over at The Outlawz.  There's a different challenge theme for each day of the week!  Very cool!

So Peaceful . . .

Doesn't this look peaceful?

Good afternoon bloggers!
I snagged this photo of the Chapel at Yellowstone from Pinterest and thought it would make a beautiful card.  I've added the Memory Box #98238 Snowflake corner and a 'portion' of the Memory Box #98171 Frosty Border.
A few Stampendous diamond dots on the snowflakes
helped to add a touch of sparkle to the scene.

Challenges:
Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes, Twist is add a snowflake

My post is short and sweet today (I know ... so unlike me! LOL)
Please stop back tomorrow when I'll share a creation I'm working on
for the "SHAPE" challenge over on Classy Cards n Such!

Hope to see you then ... stay warm & safe!
As always . . .

Babies are a Blessing . . .

MORNING!!
Yesterday I worked on a creation with a couple of challenges in mind and love how it came together!  We have a neighbor couple expecting their first child so I'll be saving this card for the baby shower in March.

My THEME BASIS comes from the Monday Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz site.

"NEW ARRIVAL - BABY"

AND, my DESIGN THEME comes from the Papercrafter's Corner - Monday Magazine #37 Challenge using this image for inspiration.

Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week Thirty-Seven Inspiration Piece (image)

I was inspired by the BOOK format and since I have a Heartfelt Creations Bible stamp that I've never used (probably 2 years old) ... it was time to blow the dust off of it and get it inky!!!
I stamped the image twice ... once on white paper and again on Graphic45 'An ABC Primer' design paper - One Two, Buckle My Shoe.  I cut the 'inside pages' from the design paper and layered it over the top of the black/white stamped image.

My childhood/baby images came from an older Crafty Secrets booklet called 'Joys of Life'.  Unfortunately, this booklet is out of print but they have a variety of other wonderful Baby/Children images, etc. that you could use in the same manner.  You can visit the Crafty Secrets Crafty Vintage Girl store to find what would work best for your project.

TWO for ONE!
The images of the baby on top of the gifts & the gifts under the ABC blocks was actually ONE image.  I simply fussy cut to separate it into two images
because it was too tall for my card.
By doing that, the lower portion of the boxes was not square at the top (white with blue dots box) because it was under the pink plaid box.
I simply put a dab of glue on either corner and tucked it up under the ABC blocks image.  Problem solved!  LOL!

I've also popped up the yellow ducky and the baby on presents image for a little added dimension.  Once I had it adhered into place I realized I should have added some ribbon, or fibers or 'something' to the left side for balance.
Hence the curvy row of  pink & blue flowers, LOL!

A few added challenges:
Creative Craft Challenge - New
(Bible Stamp & Spellbinder die set ... OLD but NEW to my use.)
Flourishes #255 - In with the New
Digi Darla's #98 - Alphabet Challenge
Addicted to Stamps - Flowers

Just Wanted to Say HI . . .

Hello my friends!
Crazy day today ... blogger is giving me some issues and I keep getting these annoying POP UP ads ... let's see if I can get this card posted without incident!  Grrrrr!

I've created this card with a few different challenges in mind ...

City Crafters #193 - Snowbird (use snow & birds)
Outlawz Twisted Thursday - Hello or Goodbye
Classy Cards 'n Such - Borders & product from her store (CLD border die)

I actually needed a card to write a quick note to a friend who is not feeling well, so this will work perfectly!  I'm lovin' my die cuts these day!

Here's what I've used on this card:

Papers:  White, Black, Garden Green, Brown, Medium Blue & Yellow cardstock
Stamps:  Penny Black #3409E 'to say hi', AMuse Artstamps #3-2078G 'lots of flakes', larger snow flake stamp from an older SU set
Inks:  Versafine Black, Brillance Moonlight White & Pearlescent Ice Blue
Accessories:  Cheery Lynn Designs B133 - Lace Light Deco Border die, Cheery Lynn Designs B123 - Victorian Picket Fence, Impression Obsession DIE058-N Birds,
White Gelly Roll Pen

Well, that's going to be it for me today!
I'm kind of in a rush because I want to get out to do some 'craft' shopping at our local Archiver's which is going out of business!

Catch you later ... thanks for stopping by!

See What Happens!

Hello blogging friends!

As my title suggests, See What Happens with it's Cold & Snowy Outside!?!
I bombard you with card making creations!
LOL!

Today I've made a card for the Outlawz Monday 'Greetings Challenge' - My Sentiments Exactly ... the theme is to use one of your FAVORITE sentiments!  That is exactly what I've done here along with a cute little 'pocket' design.

The design paper I chose to use today is from the Graphic45 'Secret Garden' collection.
I was going through some old Christmas cards and found this card front

which I tore apart to use as a template but then cut it wrong ... dang!  So my card front ended up a little different ... but you will be seeing one 'like this' coming to my blog soon!  LOL!

Since this particular challenge is about my 'favorite' sentiment, I immediately reached for this sentiment stamp by Stamping Sensations!  I've used it over & over on various projects and have heard a lot of positive feedback at my craft shows when someone picks up a card, altered tablet or whatever else I have used it on.

I have kept the inside of this card blank so I can write a note to my 'friend' when the weather breaks.  OR, maybe I should write it now and give her some hope for nice weather ahead (MONTHS from now, Uuugh!)

A few additional challenges:
Cards and More #97 - Anything Goes (C5)
Craft-Dee BowZ January - Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
Craft Your Passion - Fancy Borders/Edges
Scrapping Everyday Miracles - Friends Forever

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you've enjoyed this little creation.
Do you belong to the Outlawz group?
What is your favorite sentiment?
Please come share!

As always . . .

Recipe:

Papers:  White cs, Bazzill Basics 'butter' dp from Archivers, Graphic45 Secret Garden dp & chipboards
