I'm ready for Spring . . .

Hello My Friends!
Today I've created a fun card using the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for their current challenge and an image (freebie) from Sparkle and Sprinkle which I plan on entering into their March FB Challenge.  Isn't this little guy adorable?  A few years ago hubby & I made and hung several bird houses in our wooded area.  I love seeing them being occupied each spring with new families of birds.

Here's the sketch I followed ...

After printing out this adorable digi image, I colored him with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers then did a bit of fussy cutting with my Fiskars swivel craft knife.  I try to fussy cut with scissors but seem to do better with the swivel knife.  Different strokes for different folks I guess ... lol.

I have once again jumped into my new Doodlebug 'Dragon Tails' designer paper which was purchased from the Dies R Us Store.   So Cute!   Have you noticed that they aren't JUST dies anymore?  They now offer paper packs (6x6 & 12x12), inks, Stickles, Nuvo, Tim Holtz etc. etc.  Check 'em out!!

I have used card stock scraps for my ovals and rectangle panels and popped my image up using Scotch Dimensional Tape.  A scrap of Really Reasonable Ribbon (actually holiday - snowflakes on the other side) and my card is ready to go!

I am having such a great time joining in some of the fun challenges offered out there in blogland the past few days.  I enjoy a sketch and have come to enjoy the tic tac toe options also.  When my mojo is lacking, I typically turn to the challenges to get it going again!

Just a quick share ...
We actually saw an Eastern Blue Bird (like the one in the photo) on our deck railing last week.  That's not a bird we see often here in the suburbs ... so it was exciting to see him up close and personal right outside my kitchen window.  He didn't stay long and I hope he comes back ... time will tell.

Hang on to your ice cream . . .

Happy Friday Friends!
Today I'm playing along in a sketch challenge that is just about to
end (noon today PST).  Yikes!  I'd better hurry!

The sketch challenge I'm referring to is at The Paper Players.
Here's the sketch . . .

I was just in the middle of coloring this adorable digi offered as a freebie from Sparkle & Sprinkle.  I will share this card in their March FB Challenge as well.  I thought it would be a good focus image for my card and I made it into a boy's birthday card.  Doesn't this look like something that would happen to a little boy?  LOL
Boy SAD ... Dog HAPPY!

I took the liberty of adding sentiment flags and a balloon to complete my birthday theme using the Poppystamps 'Classic Ribbons', Tutti Designs 'Happy' and 'Birthday' and the Impression Obsession 'Balloons'.

I've colored my image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, die cut using Tutti Designs 'Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangles' and the background designer paper is Doodlebug 'Dragon Tails'.

What fun I'm having today!

Sparkle N Sprinkle fun continues ...

Welcome back for Card #2 in the Sparkle n Sprinkle FB Creative Challenge.
You can click HERE to get all the details on how you too can grab
the freebies I've been creating with and play along.

This card was created using the image called ONESIE ...

How sweet is this image and of course depending on how you color it,
you could use it for a boy or a girl.  OR if there are twins you would just need to double up!  Speaking of doubling up ... I printed out an addition 2 images and fussy cut all three. After coloring one image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I used foam tape between layers for added dimension.

For this card I was actually able to use some bits & bobs that were laying around my work table (Recipe below).

I was going to wait and share Card #3 later but decided to include it here since my day is going to be a busy one!  For Card #3 I've used the image named ROSE ...

Peek at the Inside.
Once again I've kept my card relatively simple which makes it easy to mail.
And again I've used left over bits & bobs from other projects ... i.e. the circle & rectangle.
My background paper is from a very OLD 6x6 Basicgrey paper pad called SUGARED.

After printing my image, I've used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for the coloring.  After a little fussy cut, I popped it up in my design.  I've used Wink of Stella on the outer edge of the petals though it's difficult to see in the photo.

A simple creation ... but pretty none the less I feel!  And easy for mailing ... always a bonus!

I hope you'll come join in the fun!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
As always . . .

Sparkle N Sprinkle Fun

Happy Monday!

Since we're just enjoying the 4th of July holiday weekend at home, I've had a lot of time to PLAY in my CAVE!  Sparkle n Sprinkle has started a fun new Creative Challenge over on FB and I couldn't wait to play along.  They offered up some freebies to help get you started.

My first card for their challenge uses the free image called LEO

After printing, I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for my coloring.
My background paper is the flip side of the Reminisce giraffe 12x12 sheet that I used on my creation posed on July 1st.  There were various squares of jungle cat patterns so even though these patterns are probably tigers, I figured at least it was in the CAT family!  LOL

Then I added a bit of bronze glitter to his mane & tail
after all ... he is the KING ... he deserves to sparkle!  LOL

My sentiment comes from an older GinaK stamp set called Wild About You.  I've used the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles for both my focus image and my sentiment.
