Luck of the Irish at Shelly's Images!

It's the 1st Thursday of a new month and that means time for a new challenge at Shelly's Images.  Her challenge request is to use something that indicates Good Luck.  I have used her 'Beary Lucky' digi image for today's card and he's just over flowing with Good Luck features!  What do you think?

I've carried my green/gold plaid paper on through to the inside of my card and have used ribbon that has been on my ribbon rack for years!  I've had it for so long I don't even know where it came from originally but it sure worked perfectly on today's card!
Beary was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and popped up with pop dots.
A little touch of flair with the Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish', Gold prima flower with green Stickles center was added to bring more Good Luck!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I'll be back in a bit with another card to share ...
Till then ...

Shelly's Images Challenge

MORNING!
Are you snowed in??  We are LOL ... dang!
Guess that means I'll just have to stay in my cave and create!

There's a new monthly challenge posted over at Shelly's Images and the February theme is . . .
*Use TWO hearts and the colors
 Red and/or Pink*
(Optional Twist - make the hearts different from the ordinary plain heart shape)

MUG SET

Did you know that Shelly is now offering all of her images FREE in her store
(You MUST register before you can shop.)
This is VERY GENEROUS of Shelly and although they are FREE for your use, she would LOVE to see you create something using her images and share them on the Shelly's Images challenges.

AND, IF YOU DO ... your card will be FEATURED
all month within the challenge posting.
How awesome is that!!!

I had fun creating my card today using Shelly's Mug set and doing a little paper piecing!
I had JUST ENOUGH of this Paper Studio design paper left in my scrap bin
to use it as a background and print out my mug image for the paper piecing.
To give it a little 'switch up', I then colored the mug with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

For the TWIST element of this challenge, I used a couple fun heart dies I have in my collection.
Both dies are from Memory Box:
Sofia Heart #98253 and Twirled Hearts #98279.

I die cut the Sofia Heart with black card stock then added a scrap piece of pink card stock in behind. The Twirled Hearts were cut from red card stock then outlined with red Stickles
for a touch of sparkle.

I  hope you'll come join in Shelly's February Challenge fun!
See you there ...

Shelly's Images Challenge

Good Morning All!

It's time for a new monthly challenge over at Shelly's Images
and our November Challenge is:

GIVING THANKS!

What are you thankful for today?
I think I am most thankful for my wonderful husband and amazing family!
Without them my life would have no meaning!

Using Shelly's 'Thanks' image.

I just love the colors of Fall and this fun image by Shelly worked out perfectly for my very FALL THANK YOU card!  I've embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and was actually using up some left over leaves/bow that were on my worktable.  Coloring was done with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and a little fussy cutting I felt was required to really make this sentiment POP!

With Thanksgiving only a few weeks away, I also wanted to make a card to send to dear friends of ours so
I decided to use two more of Shelly's Images ... Pilgrim Girl and Thanks Sentiment 2.

This image was also colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I chose to mat my image on extra long black cardstock, the simply wrapped, twisted & tied in a bow two narrow satin ribbons for my embellishment.   Viola!  Card complete!

A few additional challenges:
Crafting for all Seasons Challenge - Autumn Colors
Crafty Creations Challenge #247 - Autumn Colors
Divas By Design - Use A Digi
Cuttin and Stampin Challenge #44 - Giving Thanks
 Scrap Creations - Giving Thanks
Victorine Stamps #71 - Fall/Thanksgiving
2 Creative Chicks #8 - Thanksgiving

I hope you'll come join in our GIVING THANKS challenge at Shelly's Images!  Remember, you have the ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER to play along with a chance of winning FREE Shelly's Images.

See you there!
As always ...

Shelly's Images October Challenge

Morning All!

WOW!  I still can't believe we are already into the month of October!!  That white stuff will be flying long before I'm ready!!  Eeeekkks!

With the start of a new month, that means it's time for the new monthly challenge over at Shelly's Images Blog.  This month we have a photo inspiration for you.

TTT Challenge Theme - Fall Inspiration Photo

Isn't this a beautiful, peaceful photo ... I'd like to just jump in and take a walk down this road!!
But, back to reality!
Here's what I've created using not just one but two of Shelly's Images ...
We have several squirrels in our back woods and they are very busy right now collecting nuts (and burying them in my yard) for the winter so I thought it would be fun to add these guys to my card.

I used WORD to create this little scene.  That gave me the availability of sitting one squirrel on the fence and reversing the direction on the other one to sit on the ground at the corner.  Here in Ohio, we have not only gray squirrels but red squirrels and even black squirrels.

A few additional challenges I'd like to enter into:
Creative Moments - Autumn/Anything Goes
The House that Stamps Built - Happy Fall Ya'll
Little Red Wagon - Use a Fence
Papercraft Star - photo inspiration

Addicted to Stamps & More
Tuesday Throwdown - Colors of Fall

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun this month!
Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by today!
As always . . .
Recipe:
Papers -  Scraps of  Green, Mustard, Orange, & Red cardstock for leaves, White cs, Savvi 'Peel & Stick' Autumn design sheet (background)
Stamp/Ink - Serendipity/Versafine Onyx
Accessories - Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Die-namics 'royal leaves' die, PunchBunch flower making kit (flat tweezers used to curl leaves), Art Glitter glue

Shelly's Images Challenge - Christmas In July!

Welcome back my friends ...

Today marks the first MONTHLY challenge over at Shelly's Images!  Everyone's lives have become SO BUSY we thought at least through the rest of the year it might be helpful to make this change a monthly challenge vs twice a month.  You can find the entire monthly challenge line up for the remainder of the year over on Shelly's Images Challenge Blog sidebar.  We sure hope you'll come join in the fun ... and just think . . . you now have more time to play!!!

Today's challenge is:

Show Us What You Got . . .
CHRISTMAS IN JULY Edition!

Shelly has some FABULOUS holiday images ... be sure to check them out HERE.  One of my favorites is this Christmas Cardinal . . .

There's no time like the present to get started on those Christmas holiday cards,
so it was fun to pull out all my Christmas stash and get busy.

I must CONFESS ... when I printed my image, I had the wrong paper in my printer (actually had matte finish photo paper) and thought "Oh Crap!  I'm not going to be able to use my alcohol markers on this paper!"   But low & behold, it actually colored up quite nicely and I didn't have to reprint after all!  In fact, I was VERY HAPPY with how the fence colors blended!

Additional Challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More #52 - Make Your Mark
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow - Things with Wings

I hope you'll come join in our ANYTHING GOES - CHRISTMAS challenge!  I could use some inspiration ... my mojo has really been lacking lately!!!

Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

Shelly's Images Challenge

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Time is sure flying ... can't believe it is June!!  Today it's time for another fun challenge over at Shelly's Images and our theme today is BEACH!

I wanted to keep the focus on this adorable image so my design is pretty simple today.  I must admit, I was just learning how to use my alcohol markers (thanks Shelly!) when I colored this image and I was quite pleased with it's outcome ... what do you think?  Yep ... Shelly & I actually video Skyped so she could step me through the process of using alcohol markers.  She was using Copics and I was using Spectrum Noir so the numbers didn't match but the process was what I really needed her help on!  She is a GREAT teacher!

Today's featured digi is called 'BEACH SIGN'.  The design team has created some fabulous inspirational pieces for you today ... be sure to pop over and check 'em out!

Shelly also has other 'beach' related images available at the store ... perfect for all those summertime birthday cards and vacationing friends!
