Double D - Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Team Diane is hosting today and the theme is:
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
(Red and White optional pop of green)

Here's the inspiration board I have created to help you get started . .
The beautifully wrapped snow flake present caught my eye so I decided to 'case' it.
What do you think??

This was such a quick card to make and I love the outcome!

The die I have used as the main focus is the Impression Obsession 'Large Snowflake' (#DIE093) and each of those layers (including the center one which I popped out) is a SEPARATE snowflake.  I bought this die originally to use the negative space and showcase a winter scene in the background ... love the versatility of this die!  Well worth the purchase!
Impression Obsession - Dies - Large Snowflake

I've used an older Stampin Up snowflake stamp (Winter Post set) and stamped using white craft ink around the outer edge of my red card stock panel.  Some white twine was used for the 'package wrapping' and a Sue Wilson 'Pierced Flags' tag was used to house my Verve Stamps (Winter Mittens) sentiment.

Hello Friends!
Today over on the Tutti Designs Blog, I'm stepping in for new DT member LeAnne who has unfortunately not received her dies to create with yet in Canada ... hmmm, guess shipping is going to take longer than we thought!
Anyways, hopefully she will have her dies and her own creation to share with you next Wednesday, but for today, you're stuck with me!  LOL

Today's creation is quick, easy and I think adorable!
I've used three Tutti Designs dies ...

TUTTI-137 Jolly Snowman

TUTTI-217 Nesting Stitched Rectangles

TUTTI-230 Word Set - Believe

Here are a few little tips on how this creation came together . . .

I wanted my snowman to have added dimension so instead of fussing with dimensional tape since this beautiful die is so intricate, I die cut it three times ... colored the one that would be on top ... glued them all together.

I created my background panels using an older off cut for blue snowy paper and a panel of white card stock that was embossed with the Sizzix Tim Holtz falling snow embossing folder.

To create my FRAME for Mr. Snowman, I die cut a panel of black card stock using the largest and 3rd largest Stitched Nesting Rectangles.  Then I used dimensional tape before adhering to my background.

As you can see in the photo below, this gave my card wonderful dimension against the snowy background.  Lastly, I needed a sentiment and who doesn't Believe a snowman comes to life when we're not looking!!  LOL

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Joy to the World . . .

Hello All ...
I've been so busy decorating for the holidays
that my 'Just For Me' crafting has had to take a back seat
lately.  But I've taken a little time this morning to
create a card to satisfy a few challenges and give
me the additional holiday cards needed to send to friends & family!

The first challenge I spotted was the ABC Christmas Challenge which is 'W for White'.  Now I must admit I love making white on white cards ... I think they are beautiful ... but I have such a difficult time photographing them!  Ugh!
DANG!  My whole card was based on this challenge and I missed the deadline!
Double DANG!!  LOL

Another challenge that caught my eye was over at Mod Squad Challenge Blog and the theme is 'Wreath as the Focal Point'.     I have always loved this Cheery Lynn Designs 'Joy to the World' (#B481) wreath and this time I decided to die cut it THREE times and just glue it together 'willy nilly' which gave it a more realistic look.

My frame and corner embellishment are from the Spellbinder Holiday 5x7 Holly Frame die set (S6-040).  I've popped up the corner die for added dimension and the only other embellishment are the White Nuvo Drops here & there.

A few other challenges to share in are:

One more look at the final card ... I'm very happy with the outcome!
Hope you like it too!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Wishing you a FABULOUS weekend ahead!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Hello friends!
Welcome back to my second post for the day!
I have a cute card to share for the upcoming holiday season using dies from the Dies R Us store and it was created to share on our Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  If you need inspiration ... be sure to check out our blog!
This was so much fun to put together.  I just received my Dies R Us order so used several of those dies for today's fun winter scene.    The dies used are listed below and the technique I used for the trees, branch & fawn was die cutting multiple times and gluing them together to give a 'chipboard' affect.

After die cutting my focus 'Ice Crystal Frame', I brushed the center section with TH 'broken china' distress ink and reinserted it into the die cut.  On the back I added tiny pieces of scotch tape at the points to keep it together.

To add more texture to the plain blue card stock base, I used the same paint brush and 'pounced' the brush onto the card using the same TH distress ink.  Then I added a few pounces of white pearl paint and set aside to dry.  While my base card was drying I started creating my scene and stacking those elements that I wanted to use for dimension (trees, branch, fawn).
Here are the dies used on today's creation:

Amy Design - Dies - Wintertide - Ice Crystal Frame
Jeanine's Art - Dies - Winter Classics - Winter Birds
 Yvonne Creations - Snowy Tree
Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Winter Wonderland
Poppystamps - Dies - Cute Fawn
 Another look ...

Happy Birthday Puppy

Hello friends!
Today, for the Tutti Designs Blog, I am sharing another fun creation using one of the 'stained glass' dies from our October Release in the Tutti Designs store.    You can use so many different techniques with these dies and each one comes out a beautiful work of art!
Today I've used the 'Dog Stained Glass' die for my card.

I once again chose the coloring on vellum technique to add color to this sweet image but I did a little something different to bring dimension and attention to the dog.

I first die cut my image using white card stock ... then again from black card stock.
Saving the 'neck scarf' pieces from the black die cut.
Wasn't sure exactly how, or if, I was going to use them but saved them till the end.

After adhering my white cut to a panel of vellum, I continued with my coloring.  Using ZIG markers as my coloring medium once again.  Then I carefully snippet the outline of my dog from the black panel to adhere on top of the white panel for added dimension and attention.

A gold metallic marker was used to color the border panels.
And, as you can see, I colored the upper portion of the scarf red but used the black die cut piece for the outer portion of the scarf.

** REMEMBER**  coloring is done on the BACK SIDE of the vellum.

I've used a western themed, paisley designer paper for the background on my card and added a few fun sentiments. The Happy Birthday sentiment are also Tutti Designs dies and the fun stamped sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps.
Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

It's Fussy and Fancy Time . . .

Hello Everyone!
It's time once again for a new challenge over at the
Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog!

Today's theme chosen by our very talented Tone is:

Blue & Brown/Beige Winter

Here is what I've come up with...

I have had this pack of Thomas Kinkade 'Christmas Series' 8x8 designer papers in my stash for many years.  It was purchased from Cornish Heritage Farms and I don't believe they have been in business for a few years now.  It is gorgeous paper of some of his winter images and there are varies sized image sheets which is really nice for card making or scrapbooking.  There are also some coordinating papers in this pack and I've used the dark navy and added snow flakes with white Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The dies I've used to showcase this pretty image are
Sue Wilson - Festive Collection 'Snowflake Corner, Border & Tag ...

Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Snowflake Corner, Border & Tag
Precious Marieke 'Icicles' ...

Precious Marieke - Dies - Icicles

and Yvonne Creations 'Holly Jolly Nesting Frame'.

Diamond Stickles was also used to add sparkle.

Giving Thanks

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Blog
'Sistah' Vickie is our hostess today and the theme she has chosen is:

Giving Thanks
(anything showing Thanks)

I don't use my embossing folders nearly as much as I should so today I decided that would be the basis for my thank you card.  This is an Anna Griffin (Cuttlebug) embossing folder called ROSA.  It comes with a border strip embossing folder to match  ...  which I've used across the bottom portion of my sentiment panel.

The die I've used for my 'thank you' is a Retired Memory Box die which if you act fast you can still purchase at the Dies R Us Store.  HERE's the link.

RETIRED - Memory Box Dies - Grand Thank You

Pink satin ribbon, a few petite flowers and my card is ready to mail.

Quick ... Easy ... Beautiful!!

I hope you'll pop over to see what my 'sistahs' have created to inspire you ...
Then come join in the fun ... can't wait to see what you create!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and,
