Make The Cards Challenge #58

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Technique challenge for you . . .

Today, I chose to do a Double Z fold card for you!

I'm still working at using OLD stash so the designer paper I've used today is once again from the Crafty Secrets (no longer in business) Earthy paper pad.

The measurements for my card are as follows:

Ivory Card Stock base back card is 4 1/4" x 11", scored on 11" side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"
Ivory Card Stock inside fold panel is 3 3/4" x 9 3/4", scored on 9 3/4" side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

Decorative panel measurements:
Back panels are 4" x 5 1/4" and (2) at 4" x 2 1/2"
Inside fold panels are 3 5/8" x 4" and (1) at 3 5/8" x 2 1/2"

I then die cut a square using Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares' die set and the 'Happy' and 'Birthday' are also Tutti Design dies (I've used the larger of the two in the set).  The sentiment was die cut using a scrap from the decorative designer paper.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun ... here's the link for you one more time ...

Can You Handle The Pressure - Things with Wings

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is 'THINGS with WINGS'.  Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

Today's card really showcases just how quickly you can create a card by using an embossing folder.  Now keep in mind, I've taken a few extra steps by doing a bit of coloring, faux stitching and adding a sentiment but by simply just adding an embossed panel to a card front, your card could be ready to go.  Here's how this panel looked before coloring . . .

I first used what extra ink was left on my green distress oxide ink dauber to give the vines a bit of color then I've used Tombow markers to carefully color the embossed leaves and birds.  For added dimension, I've used lime green Nuvo Crystal drops on all the 'dotted' spots.

A quick & easy sentiment was added by using one of the many available in the Creative Expressions 'Everyday' Wordies Sentiments Sheets.

I do hope you'll come check out our new blog and play along.
AND yep ... we will be offering prizes at our challenges ... that's always a fun surprise!

Here's today's prize offering . . .

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Add Layers

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by Sistah Ina is:

ADD LAYERS
(papers, dies, etc.)

I chose to use a combination of papers & dies to create my layers.
The beautiful papers are from the P13 'Till we meet again' 6x6 designer pad

 P13 - Till We Meet Again Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad

The Tutti Designs 'Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangle' dies were used to create the frames.

TUTTI-410 Cross Stitch Nesting Rectangles

I used a scrap of the designer paper on the focus rectangle panel before adding my Pink Fresh sentiment. I could have kept adding embellishments but I decided to stop right here.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Inspiration Station Challenge

Hello Everyone and Welcome Back!

Today I have a card to share for the new challenge over on the Inspiration Station!

Here is today's Inspiration Photo  ...

Please remember, to be eligible for the Prize, you will need to *Let us know on your blog or Social Media Post how the Photo Inspired You*.

I was obviously inspired by the horses & riders.  I have several family members who have horses and do a lot of trail riding and such so I know this card will come in handy.

The die I have used is by Impression Obsession called 'Western Couple' (DIE781).  I simply die cut it from black card stock and adhered it to my white card base.  I then used the fine tip end of my black Tombow marker along with a ruler and drew the outside edge lines.

Single lines were used on 3 sides and the 4th side has a double line.  I realized my die cut image was off center, hence the double line.  Then to add something different to that 'odd' edge, I used that same fine marker and drew a sideways figure 8 (was to resemble a rope loop) then I added Nuvo drops and although unintentional ...it turned out looking like a book binder on the right side ... pretty cool ... lol.

Before I forget, I wanted to let you know we are having a Design Team Call.  We are looking for 2-3 creative and crafty individuals to join our team.  If you are interested in joining us, please send pics of 3 projects that best represent your work and style along with a short bio to Donna @ dlflowers64@gmail.com

No experience necessary...we all have to start somewhere!

I do hope you will pop over to Inspiration Station
Come check out what the design team has created ... lots of fun inspiration from this team!  And then, join in the fun!  I look forward to seeing what YOU create.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and sharing in my excitement!

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge

Hello Friends and welcome back to my blog!
SO happy you stopped by!

Today I have a card to share for the new challenge over on the PEACE ON EARTH CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE BLOG.  Of course the theme is Anything Christmas and we hope you'll come join in the fun!

Here's a fun inspiration board we've created to help get you started ...

Obviously, I was inspired by the black/white gingham checks and the cute snowmen.  So, I went through my dies and came across this cute Sweet Dixie 'Snowman' (SDD004) and decided he would be the subject of today's card.   He is VERY old and may not be available any longer.

For my background, I went to my Ella & Viv Paper Company 'Perfectly Plaid Kit' of 12x12 papers and for my snowman background, I die cut a panel using the Lawn Fawn 'Snowfall Backdrop' from black card stock then backed it with a scrap panel of white card stock (so it appeared as snow falling).

I've used Tombow markers to add a little color to some of the pop out pieces then glued them back into my snowman after he was adhered to the background panel.

PLEASE be sure to pop over to THE BLOG and check out the amazing designs our design team has created for your inspiration.  What a group of talented ladies!!  Then come join in the fun!!

  Have a great day!

As always ... thanks again for stopping by!

Make The Cards Challenge #57

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Color challenge for you . . .

I've been playing with some OLD stash recently and came up with this color combination using designer paper from a company that is no longer in business (and I have a LOT of their stuff since I was on their DT).  I'm referring to Crafty Secrets and this 2 sided paper comes from their 'Earthy' paper pad.

I've used some medium blue card stock to mat my sentiment (which is stamped in TH distress oxide 'chipped sapphire' ink) and punch out a few flowers using old Martha Stewart punches.  I've also used a Tombow marker (#526) to add faux stitching around the lower panel.  Nuvo drops were used for flower centers and embellishments.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun ... here's the link for you one more time ...

Double D - Beach Time

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and our theme is:

BEACH TIME

and here's an inspiration board I've created to help get you started . . .

Oh how I wish I were on a beach right now!  LOL

Both of my sisters have June birthdays (and they are both hairdressers) but my older sister splits her time between her job/home here in Ohio and her other home in Florida.  I'm sure one of these days she will decide to 'hang up her hair dryer' and stay in her beautiful FL home full time but for now she seems to be okay with flying back & forth.  So this card was created with her in mind.

I had a little creative fun with this one!

As you can see, I cut a portion of the front cover from my card base ... then I turned it and used it to hide my inside sentiment.  A few Tim Holtz distress oxide inks and dies were used to create my front card panel.

AND, as you may have noticed, the sentiment I used on the front is the same as the one being offered as our prize this time around.  NO!  I did NOT use the prize die then put it back in the package!  LOL     I have had my own for quite awhile now and have enjoyed having it in my stash so thought who ever wins the challenge might have some fun with one too.

Product used:

Impression Obsession - Life is Better at the Beach die (#689)

Impression Obsession - Shore Birds (187)

Shore Birds
Memory Box Seaside Treasures (99107)

The inside sentiment stamps are both by Inkadinkado.

The prize that you'll be playing for this time around is:

Remember, it's a random draw for the winner so it could be YOU!!

You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

I hope you've found inspiration from today's creation!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see you at Double D!
