Busy, Busy, Busy!

Hello friends & family . . .
Sorry I've not been posting more regularly but you see, there's a lot going on in my life right now so I thought I'd share just a quick post to let you know what's been happening.

As I mentioned in my post last Saturday, there is a wedding at months end (that's all coming together nicely) and I have a Spring show on April 17th.  That is where my attentions are at the moment.  I think I have plenty of cards (will make more if time permits), the tissue box covers are all completed & packaged ready to go and now I was wanting to create something NEW to share with the ladies.  I decided on Pop Up Box Cards ... here's what I have made so far . . .

Yes this is how I've decided to showcase them so they can see what they look like open.  Then as they select them I will put them in their coordinating envelopes.  What do you think of the magnetic board & easel display idea??

If they sell well, I will come up with a better 'on the table' display but I just don't have time to come up with that right now ... I got permission to use this display so it will have to do for this time around.  I would rather spend my time making the cards so I have enough ... I think they are cute and the ladies will like them.

Here are a few close ups . . .

With this being an 'older' crowd, I'm really struggling to come up with ideas but hopefully these will be well received.

I have used the Pink & Main Box Card die as my base.

Pink & Main - Dies - Box Card

I also have the Lawn Fawn Pop Up Box Card die that I will be working with this coming week.  I'll share some of those when they are completed.  It has a different edge which I think will also make for some cute box cards.

Lawn Fawn - Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Dies

Okay ... back to work ... still have a lot to do and also want to make individually wrapped Hershey Nugget pouches tied with Easter colored ribbons.  Like my title says . . . Busy, Busy, Busy!  LOL

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
BIG HUGS!

Sisterhood of Crafters - Celebrate Spring!

Hello dear friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over

Our hostess today is Debbie and the theme she has chosen is:

Celebrate SPRING!

Here's what I have created with that theme in mind  ...
As a young girl growing up on a farm, spring was always filled with adventure.  I used to love to wonder off to the back acreage and lay in the high grasses to watch the clouds go by!  Those days you didn't have to worry about where your kids were every moment ... my sisters and I knew the rules and when it was time to be home for meals we were there but after our chores were done, we did what made us happy and it was ALWAYS something outside!!
It appears these youngin's are having fun discussing what these cloud forms look like!  Or maybe they are discussing what they have planned for their out of school summer vacations.  Ugh ... to be a kid again!  LOL
I've used a panel of turquoise blue card stock for my background and sponged it with white craft ink to soften the color for the sky.  The dies I have used on today's card are:
Frantic Stamper - Dies - Spring
Joy! Craft - Clouds
 Nellie's Choice 'Boy/Girl Silhouette'
A couple little Prima flowers with white Nuvo centers and my card is ready to bring a smile!

Challenges to share in:
Unicorn March Challenge - Spring
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - That Someone Special
Creative Craft Cottage Challenge #116 - Spring Fever
Daisy Chain Challenge - Spring is in the Air

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

 See you there!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Better than Counting the Years . . .

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

Over the weekend while taking a break from the 20 tissue box covers
I was creating for an upcoming show, I was scrolling down through the
challenges over on Paper Playful and spotted this sketch at Stamploration.

Now mind you, I didn't follow the 'theme' they are offering but the sketch did
catch my eye so here's what I came up with.

I actually had this musical panel inside the Mintay '7th Heaven'
6x6 paper pack that was cut from a sheet I used on another card.  I
thought it was perfect for this sketch and I fussy cut a couple
of the images (in this case butterflies), that are offered on the inside of the
front & back coversof these paper packs.  The stamp is one I've had
for a v-e-r-y long time and I think is good advice!!

I've used a fine tip black marker to create the butterfly
antenna's and trail dashes,

I was very pleased with the outcome of this card,
I hope you like it too.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop
by today!  Here's wishing you an AWESOME week
ahead!

Tutti Designs - Easter Bunnies

Welcome Back Friends!
I'm still having lots of fun with newly released dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

Today I have a gate-fold Easter card to share with you.

I have used the adorable

TUTTI-521 Bunny Scene

I've die cut my Bunny scene several times and glued them together for dimension, coloring only the panel that was adhered to the top of the pile.  Using my alcohol markers, I colored the vines, flowers and outside circle before adhering to my oval background panel which was created using the

TUTTI-413 Dotted Nesting Ovals

As you untie the purple double sided satin ribbon, you will find the inside greeting using

TUTTI-519 Leafy Happy Easter

The Leafy Happy Easter was adhered to a white panel die cut using one of the

 TUTTI-414 Dotted Nesting Rectangles

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Spring Show Time

Hello My Friends!
Sorry I've been kind of MIA of late and not shared many cards/projects
with you ... but you see, my granddaughter is getting married at the end of April
so THAT has kept my attentions ... SO EXCITED for her!!

With that being said, I also have my Spring Country Club show only 10 days
prior to Morgan's wedding that I now must spend some time on
if I'm going to have what the ladies will be expecting of me.

While driving down to my daughter's to deliver the wedding invitations, I did receive a phone call from the Country Club lady who asked if I could possibly come up with a table favor for this spring show.  If you know me at all, you'll know I have a hard time saying NO so in the midst of all the wedding 'stuff' I came up with this table favor in the color's representing 'Women's Suffrage' which is the theme for the Spring Show Program.

See that criss-crossed stack of purple cardstock?
That was how many I had to make ... 120 ... but I'm happy to say
they are all done and in a box ready to go!  Whew!  LOL

I used the Elizabeth Craft 'Lantern Box' #1310 for these goodie boxes & filled them with Hershey Kisses.

The other day I thought I'd better look and see what Tissue Box Covers I still had made & available ... only to find I had several Christmas & Sports themed boxes but only a couple everyday boxes.  So, I knew what I need to achieve this weekend while I had the time.  Yep ... it's tissue box cover making time!!  LOL

I got busy picking out 20 various 12x12 sheets of designer paper I wanted to use and got busy cutting. Then I cut/scored all the 'BOX' panels so assembly could begin.

My hands were hurting a bit from all the scoring & folding so I decided to
snap a few photos, take a break and share what I'm doing with you all!
Kind of a 'What's On My Desk' project!  LOL

I know once Spring truly breaks I'll be spending a lot of time outside getting my flower beds/lawn in order and to be honest with you, I can't wait!!  I'm so ready for some warmer temperatures and fresh air!!

Hope you're having a creative weekend!
Hugs to you all!!!

BACK TO WORK!!!
LOL

UPDATE:  I've been asked about the instructions for making these tissue box covers ... you can find my 'original' tutorial (2013) here but will come back next week with an update to those instructions sharing how you can get away with using ONE 12x12 sheet of designer paper for your decorative panels.

UPDATE TO MY UPDATE:
If you go to the TUTORIALS folder under my header, you will find NEW instructions & a photo tutorial for making these tissue box covers.

Double D - Gingham

Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm hosting today and as you can see by my blog title ... the theme is

GINGHAM
(any color or material ... paper, ribbon)
Here's the mood board I've created to help inspire you . . .

Here's what I came up with!
It's totally different from what I first envisioned
but still love how it came together!

I started out today's card by first going through my designer
papers looking to see what gingham patterns I had available
and came across some beautiful papers in the Mintay by Karola
(www.mintaypapers.com) 'Springtime'.

The top panel is the reverse side of this gingham sheet that was cut
off the one end to fit my A6 size card base.  But instead of just
using the plain long cut strip, I decided to add some style
and texture by die cutting it using the Frantic Stamper
The leafy tree die on the left side comes from a Yvonne Creations

Yvonne Creations - Dies - Pretty Pierrot - Flower Swing

My sentiment die is by Die'sire 'Wishing you a Happy Birthday' (DS-EDG-HAP)
and my festive balloon is from the Elizabeth Craft 'Balloons' die set (#726).
After die cutting the balloon from one of the small square decorative
panels in the same paper pad, I adhered it to a scrap of black card stock
and fussy cut around to create a mat.  Matching green Baker's Twine
was added for the balloon string.

REMEMBER:  We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player,
which will be chosen by Random.org
ALL are welcome to enter ... we will ship internationally!

Today's prize offering is the beautiful Lawn Fawn 'Gingham' paper pad ...

Hope to see you at Double D!

Tutti Designs - Happy Easter

Welcome Back Friends!
I'm still having lots of fun with newly released dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

Easter is on April 21st this year and even though it's more than a month away, I just had to share this adorable Easter Bunny Face die set with you.  I've NEVER had a die set like this before and OMG I had such fun creating this card and can only imagine all the possibilities this die set has!  Check this out ...

Is this adorable or what?!!!

Dies used from our newest release are:

Bunny Face
TUTTI-506 Bunny Face

Leafy Happy Easter
TUTTI-519 Leafy Happy Easter

I die cut all my pieces from a scrap of lightly patterned pink designer paper (since I wasn't really sure what direction I was going lol) and then decided to color all but the ears and heart 'nose' using my alcohol markers.

So easy peasy and SO CUTE!!
What fun!
