A Slimline Christmas

 Hello Friends

I have a quick card to share with you today that I created the other day when coming up with ideas for an upcoming Tutti Designs showcase on the UK's Hochanda TV show.  That's coming up the end of October and I'll be sharing more about that at as we get closer to that time.

Here's what I'm talking about . . .

I've created a holiday slimline card using a scrap of Christmas designer paper, a snowflake embossing folder, Tutti Designs Cross Stitched Nesting Circles and a holiday die sentiment.

As I said, this was kind of a prototype for the card I ended up making for the Hochanda show and although not my 'best' work, it's still a cute card and wanted to share it with you.

After I was all done I though the circles would look more like an ornament if it had the hanger top on it so I grabbed a gold marker and just hand drew (obviously I'm NOT artistic lol) them on.

for the purple background panel to make my sentiment really POP!

I also used Black Glitter Stickles on the spider for some extra fun!

Football and Coffee ...

... well maybe not a good combination!

But since hubby is upstairs watching football (GO STEELERS!)  I decided to join in the new challenge offered up over on the AAA Cards Challenge Blog. (hence the coffee reference! lol)

I have had a couple coffee themed stamp sets in my stash for quite awhile now and hadn't yet inked them up!  Well, today's the day for one of them!  LOL
What do you think?
This is certainly CAS (clean & simple) ... and a lot of fun!

After sponging on a little TH 'tea dye' & 'walnut stain' distress ink in the lower corner, I then stamped my Frantic Stamper (FRA-CL-133) Coffee stamp that was inked up using the same Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink.   A white gelly roll pen was used to create the steam.

Frantic Stamper Clear Stamp Set - Coffee (ships July 29)

I can see I need to get busy and make more coffee themed cards as I have a lot of friends & family who are coffee lovers and I'm sure they would enjoy these sentiments.

The Celebration Continues . . .

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I hope you're having a wonderful day!
Once again, I've decided to play along in the new challenge over at Seize the Birthday Challenge Blog.  They are celebrating challenge #200 ... WOW!  And the rules are a little different but GREAT FUN!  Be sure to pop over and check it out.

Here's what I've created today . . .

using their challenge logo as my inspiration!
Both the colors and the balloons!

For today's card, I decided to create a 'slimline' card so I could use the height for the floating balloons.  I'm very happy with the outcome.  I started by creating my background panel using watercolor paper and TH distress oxide inks.  A spritz of water gives me the splatter I was looking for.

I've die cut my balloons by using the balloon dies in the Sue Wilson - Shadow Box Collection - Celebrations die set.

I've used the larger die for my card front and here's a peek at the inside where I've used the smaller balloon die.  My stamped sentiment is by Hero Arts.

The DT over at Seize the Birthday has shared some amazing creations for inspiration!  Be sure to pop over, check it out and play along.  Some fabulous prizes are being offered up as well!

Seize the Birthday Celebration

Hello dear friends!

I hope you're having a wonderful day!
I spotted the new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and WOW can you believe it,
it's their 200th Challenge!  A big congrats to them all!!

The rules are a little bit different this time around but I think it's a great idea for the milestone they are celebrating and their DT plus a few extras have shared some AMAZING designs.  Here's what I came up with ... hope you like it!

My inspiration (as you can tell) came from the colors in the logo and the black & white wording.

I began by creating my background panel from a 4 x 6 sheet of white card stock then colored it using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a large sponge dauber.  After I had the colors as I wanted them,  using the Sue Wilson - Perspectives Collection - Happy

Sue Wilson Designs - Perspectives Collection - Happy

I die cut the word HAPPY from the center of my inked panel.
After adhering the word to a scrap panel of white card stock and again to a panel of black card stock for matting, I covered over the area that was originally die cut with my completed HAPPY panel.

By using the small scrap I had cut from the inked background panel, I die cut the word BIRTHDAY and adhered it to a scrap strip of white card stock to complete my sentiment.  And, what fun ... I still have the letters that popped out of the die to use for another project!

That's it for me today!  I have a busy day of crafting ahead of me so I'd better get busy!!

Boil, Boil Toile Trouble

 Hello Tutti Friends!

Darlene with you today, once again filling in for DT member Jenn while she works through all the devastation caused by the fires in California.  Praying she'll remain safe and be back with us soon.

Another fun Halloween card to share but this time using OLDER Halloween dies.

I chose to create a 'slimline' card design and I'm thrilled with the outcome!
Dies used today are:
TUTTI-381 Spiderweb Corner

TUTTI-383 Cooking Witch

For a little extra fun, I used red Stickles to create the 'fire' under the pot.

How quick, easy & fun was this Halloween card!
Simply 2 dies and a card base ... VIOLA ... ready for Mr. Postman!

Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Anything But a Card

Hello my friends!
Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by Vickie this time around, is:

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

Way back in April when we were going through our Coronavirus Pandemic, I purchased a few new dies (like I didn't already have enough) to keep me busy.  One of those dies is the Concord & 9 'Everyday Purse' (#10765).   So, even though you've probably seen these on my blog before now (I worked way ahead on my DT work too while isolated), here are the first two I made with my new die set.  Hope you like them ... I know I do!

The paper I've used to day is by Mintay.
The blue purse on the left was my very first purse ... then later that day I made the other one using white vs gold metallic for the accents.  They actually do open and will hold a little trinket or gift card.

 Aren't they just the cutest!!

Black & White Sympathy

 Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

Today's card was created out of a curiosity happening.
I purchased some new embossing folders recently and I was playing around
with this one by Nellie's Choice.

 It's beautiful within itself
but I wanted to see what else could be done with the 'embossed' area.
So I decided to die cut it from a panel of black card stock
that was laying on the work table and then started doing some outlining
with a white gelly roll pen.  Here's what I ended up with . . .

I did continue to fill in the actual flowers but left
everything else in an outlined format.   Instead of adding a mat to the back of my black panel, I chose to move it to the center fold of my card base and then I used a very old Just Rite stamp set that included this little flower stamp to add the flowers down the right side of my card front.  A strip of ribbon was added for texture and a small delicate sentiment was all I felt necessary to complete my card.

I wasn't sure what sentiment I wanted to put on this card but
these days it seems I'm always in need of more sympathy cards so that
is the direction I took.

AND, I must confess, if I were to do the flower border on another card, I would get my ruler out and premark where I wanted to stamp them ... obviously just eyeballing the spacing isn't working for me anymore!  LOL   ...  old eyes ya know!    But it's the thought behind the card that counts in this case so I hope the recipient will overlook the uneven spacing.

Tutti Designs - Eeeks there's a spider in your shoe!

 Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing another Halloween creation but this time using one of the newly released dies from August 2020.  What fun!  And you know Halloween will be upon us before we know it!!

This die is appropriately named 'Spooky Shoe'.

I chose to color in the interior webbing with a black marker and leave the shoe white.  A few extra sticker spiders were added to make it even more creepy (hate spiders lol).

What do you think of my photo stagging?  LOL

I just HAD to buy this very large container of Halloween colored M&Ms while at the wholesale club a few weeks back and had to remind myself NOT to eat them all before getting my Halloween cards done to showcase these new dies and have them to use for my photos!  LOL what you see is all that's left and after my photographing is done you know what will happen to them!  Yep!  Don't want them to get stale! LOL

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies available. Need more inspiration?  The team has something new to share on the Tutti Designs Blog  EVERY DAY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY!

Artsystamper Challenge - Ribbons & Bows

Hello my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Artsystamper Challenge Blog where the team is showcasing digital images designed by Beverly Cole at The Artsystamper Shop!   The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month brings another Artsystamper Challenge
and today's theme is:

Ribbons & Bows

Today, the DT is using a variety of images/papers from Beverly's Etsy shop.  Be sure to pop over and check 'em out.  Such wonderful and diverse inspiration!

Here's what I've created for you today . . .

I decided on a Fall theme using her 'Fruit Stand Stamp Set'.

and my base card is actually a printed 8 1/2 x 11 using one of the paper images in her Fruit Stand Paper Pack then cut to size for my A6 card.

After a little 'tweaking' of the basket of peaches (I added more fruit), I then printed it out onto a 4x6 white cardstock panel and did a little fussy cutting.   I also printed the hanging fruit edger and cut it out so I could add it to the inside of my card front (see below) leaving plenty of room for my message.
With it being a fall themed card, I used burlap card stock for my added panels
and orange satin as well as orange gingham ribbon.  To add a little dimension & shine, I've used Crystal Effects on a few of the peaches.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!
You do NOT have to use Beverly's images (of course we would love to see them if you have them) ... but you must follow the theme to qualify for the prize.  PRIZE you say . . .

YEP ... The winner of our challenges will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop.  Beverly Cole's selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-colored images for easy, last minute cards.  Why not take a moment and check out what she has in the shop!!  And there's more new images/papers coming in the weeks ahead!!
