Tutti Designs - Hello Friend

Welcome Back Friends!
Today I'm sharing something a little different (for me)
using one of our latest layering die sets.

I know this is a little 'tricky on the eyes' but do you see the
two birds in the window??

While die cutting my hexagon shapes, this card just kind of 'evolved' ... nope you like it.

Here are a few steps taken in it's creation . . .

The decorative panels on either side of my image was created by cutting in half an extra hexagon frame that was laying on the work table!  (can't waste ya know!)

NOW do you see the birds?  LOL

Here are the dies used today . . .

(I snipped the S off the end to make it singular)

Masculine Birthday Card

Happy Sunday Friends!
How's everyone doing?  Hangin' in there?
Keep up the good work ... we will get through this together!!

As you can see by my title, today I have a Masculine Birthday Card to share.  So many times when I've needed to create a masculine card, I've turned to my Stampscapes Stamps ... creating a woodsy scene is so much fun and very rewarding!

How cool is it to start out with  THIS

and end up with THIS ...

After stamping my initial images, I then began coloring the background & foreground. For the sky, I've applied a coat of TH Broken china to the upper portion - background sky.  Next,  I added a circle of masking material and sponged again with TH Faded Jeans distress ink to create the sky.  The stars were created by making tiny 'x's' in the sky using a white gellyroll pen.  Primacolor pencils were used for the coloring on the rocks, scrub grass and cabin.

Here's a look at the inside . . .

If you've never played with these stamps, please do pop over to their website and check out all the amazing stamps available.  He even has lessons for you to follow along to see how it's done.  He's VERY talented and goes into great detail but you can always do as I have today and just use a couple of stamps to create a serene scene just like this one.

There were actually 4 stamps used on this card ... the two you see in the first photo above, then I also used the 'brush' stamp on the foreground and the 'flying geese' in the sky.  Hubby always laughs at me about putting something in the sky ... SORRY!  Just can't leave an empty sky ... has to have clouds, or birds, or butterflies, or rain ... SOMETHING!  LOL   Afterall, when's the last time you looked up in the sky and saw 'nothing'?  Think about it!  LOL

My Happy Birthday sentiment are dies from Tutti Designs.

Back to the Bits 'n Bobs

Happy Friday All!

I was actually supposed to meet up with my high school friends for lunch over in PA today but as you know, PA and OHIO are in lock down so I guess I'll just have to keep crafting to occupy my mind.

All week I've been using up many of the bits 'n bobs that have been stacking up on my work tables waiting for the right time to be turned into beautiful cards.  Well since we are confined to our homes at the moment ... NOW'S the time!!  Here's a couple I have to share with you today . . .

I just love this cute Wild Rose Studio stamp ...can be used for a variety of occasions but today since I had this double matted Tutti Designs 'Friend' die cut laying on the table ... a Friends card it is!!

And, what do you think about the background paper?  This is soooooooooooo OLD ... yes I'm trying to use up some of those 6x6 paper packs that have just a couple of sheets left also.  When I first looked at it, it didn't hit me that they were elephants but then  DUH! ... the brain kicked in and said Hey Goofy ... those are elephants in the image and this will work!  LOL

Movin' on . . .

On this card I've used another of the Heartfelt Creations older stamped image I've had sitting around just waiting to be colored.  When I work with stamps/die sets, I usually stamp multiples, then as I have time I color them and then when/if my project requires they be die cut I do it then ... otherwise I just leave it as such and die cut the entire panel using a rectangle, circle, square ...whatever is required for the project I'm working on.

The background paper is also VERY OLD and it's a panel that I obviously wasn't encouraged to use before so today's the day I'm showing it some love! Another one of those 6x6 packs with only a couple sheets remaining.  It was a 2 sided panel so what I cut off to fit my card base was flipped over and used as an accent.

I noticed I had this cute little scalloped circle die cut laying on the table and it was already stamped with this birthday sentiment so there ya go .... Birthday card ready to go!  I think I'll stamp the inside with my 'A little birdie told me . . .' stamp or something like that.

Sisterhood of Crafter - SPRING

Hello my friends!
Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme this time around is

SPRING

Ugh ... it's can't come fast enough for me!
I can't wait to get back outside and feel the spring breezes
on my face and hear the sounds of Spring all around me!

As a kid, we were always excited when spring came around because that meant it was time to go out with our dad and see how high we could be our kites to fly up in the sky!

We lived in the country, so on a good day you could get your kite to fly a VERY  long distance away.  Of course, most times when we got it out that far we'd end up loosing it because we couldn't get it wound back in before it crash landed somewhere over the tree tops!  LOL  But still made for some awesome memories!

I remember a time my dad got my kite SO FAR AWAY you could hardly see it any longer ... it kept getting smaller & smaller till it seemed like only the line was the only thing you could see in the sky.  He was a really good kite flyer!!

Product used are:
Sue Wilson 'Belated Birthday Wishes'
Sue Wilson Designs - Mini Sentiments Collection - Belated Birthday Wishes
Die Versions 'Flying Kites'
Mintay Designer Paper

Memory Box 'Wrapped Stitch Frames' (sorry OOS)

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!

Using more bits 'n bobs

Happy Tuesday All!
I pray you are all staying healthy ... such a trying time we are going through right now.  BUT I'm doing my best to stay positive and busy ... this too shall pass (quickly I hope)... so I'm going to just keep crafting (and spring cleaning from time to time lol).

Over the weekend I was working on some cards using up some of the many bits 'n bobs I have left over from other projects that have been piling up.  Maybe I'll make that my goal this week ... make cards using all those pieces that got tossed into a box for 'later' ... thanks Darnell for the inspiration!  Yep, Darnell made something like 75 cards using the left over in her 'playhouse' ... WOW!

Here are a few I made over the weekend . . .

As you can see, I have some of the older Heartfelt Creations flowers on all of today's cards.  I had these stamped and die cut, all I had to do was add some color.  The oval above was an extra because it was too small for the project I had originally die cut it for ... works perfectly here.  Just by adding a few little Nuvo drops, it's ready for an encouraging message inside and away it goes!

Challenges to share in:

I can't believe how many 'frames' I have hanging on a hook over by my cutting machine.  So these last two cards have helped reduce that pile.    Actually, the frame below was an odd shade of pink (didn't match my flower at all) so I used a black marker and went over & over it to darken it ... looks better now and that's one more 'off the hook'.

What are you doing to stay busy?  Whatever it is, please try to stay positive in your thinking.  We will get through this crisis if we all work together.

Going to go wash my hands and then more crafting (or maybe a little cleaning first).

Tutti Designs - Happy Birthday

Hello Friends!
Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week!
I have a fun birthday card to share with you today that was created for

Today I had a bit of fun with one of their layered die sets ...
Stitched Postage (using the 2 smallest dies) to create my background.

 TUTTI-618 Stitched Postage

The other dies used on the front of my card are as follows:

Envelope & Bouquet  (using only the bouquet) which I die
cut three times.  Twice from white card stock ... of which I colored one of those panels
using a sponge dauber & ink  and then glued the two together.  Then a black panel which I  used as a 'shadow' panel'.

I used the same technique for my card front sentiment using the Tutti Designs 'Happy' and 'Birthday' both cut from white & black card stock to achieve that 'shadowed effect'.

So as not to let anything 'go to waste', I decided to use the inside die pop outs as an embellishment on the inside of my card.  I think it looks rather nice ... what do you think?

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Friends and Neighbors

Happy Sunday All!
While talking with my friend & neighbor the other day, I mentioned to her that I had recently made a Mother's Day card for a DT obligation and that she could have it for her mom since sadly I won't be needing any more Mother's Day card for my mom.  She had mentioned that her mom loves the packs of Thinking of You cards that she has purchased from me in the past and would I make up a few for her to give along with the card.  Of course I said SURE and got right on it ... here are the packs I came up with that she can choose from.

I make these sets in groups of 6 for $10  ... A2 in size and only uses one 12x12 sheet of designer paper.  Luckily I have Hollo's Papercraft not that far away from me (40 minute drive) and can take advantage of purchasing my envelopes & card stock at very reasonable prices ... I pass that savings on to those I make cards for by keeping my prices reasonably low.

I then package the 6 cards & 6 envelopes into an A6 clear sleeve.  I used to use the clear boxes but they became too pricey and people didn't want to be paying the extra cost for a clear box that they would eventually be throwing away.

Here are the other sets I've created over the last couple of days . . .

The cards are blank on the inside so can be used for a variety of occasions and plenty of room to write a long or short message.  With my Spring craft show cancelled, I think I'll work on making up several more of these packs while I'm hunkered down in my cave with plenty of time on my hands.  Plenty of time before the Fall shows and these are always a good seller!

WHAT are you doing to fill in the time while observing Social Distancing?
  • Many are getting a jump on their spring cleaning (I'll get around to that after crafting lol!)
  • Some are catching up on some home improvement projects that had been on the back burner.
  • Others are enjoying the 'time off' to re-energize with some good old family time!
What ever you choose to do, PLEASE stay safe & healthy!
We can get through this pandemic together if we just use common sense & patience!

OH YEA ... and remember to WASH THOSE HANDS!!!
