Tea Light (or Chocolates) Boxes

Happy Day All!

After seeing these fabulous tea light boxes over on Doreen's Blog, I thought they would be a great project for my upcoming Fall Country Club Show.  However, I have learned in the past that this group of ladies don't seem to go for the tea lights ... BUT, they do like their chocolate so I have modified the contents a bit!  LOL

[The original tutorial came from a YouTube video by Angelina and you can watch it HERE. She has other really great tutorials also.  Be sure to watch her video on this project if my instructions are not clear to you.]

Here's are some photos I snapped along the way during their creation.

Decorative papers measurements:
Top & Inside Lid:  4 3/4" x 1 5/8"
Back:  4 3/4" x 1 1/16"
(Making sure not to adhere the inside lid panel until you have added your ribbon.)

Since for me I needed three hands to tie the ribbons, I came up with the idea to hold the box closed with a rubber band.  Be sure you use one that's not TOO tight and damages the edges of your box lid/bottom.

Once secured, I added my sentiment and butterfly.
VIOLA!

I plan on doing more of these with different themes and different candies.
I think they are a sweet little 'Just Because' treat that will bring a smile!

It only took me two years!!

Hello my friends!
As the title suggests, I have something to share today that has been 2 years coming!  (Don't want to rush into anything ya know!  LOL)

A couple of years ago, hubby put peg board up for me on the 'other side' of the basement and built me a 8' fold down table so I could set up my show display and know how much room I would have (or not have) before show time.  Once he was done I started utilizing the peg board and thought it would be cute to put my 'room name' along the top so headed to the box store and purchased the appropriate letters.

Once I get time to 'clean things up' a bit, I will take some new photos and share my 'Cave' with you!  Right now I'm working on a couple of upcoming shows and it's a MESS !   Needless to say, I should be working on those projects (and I am) but this has been bugging me so I took an hour and got them covered.  Decorating will come another day!  Want to add some flowers, etc ... we will see when the mood strikes!  LOL

Now, back to work!

Challenges to share in:
Paperminutes Challenge - Letters or Numbers
Use Your Stuff Challenge #327 - Lots of Colour

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

P.S.  Need your opinion!
The letter 'S' is done in the same floral paper but is a beige color.  I have a sheet of black in the same pattern.  Do you think I should redo it in black or leave it in the neutral color?   Thanks!

'Bee' Happy

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
With such a busy week/weekend last week, I'm struggling to get my mojo started so I thought I'd create a CAS (clean & simple) card in hopes of finding inspiration and the first CAS challenge I spotted was over at the AAA Cards Challenge Blog where their theme is to use a STENCIL and of course, keep it CAS.
Mr. Mojo still not working that well, but tomorrow's another day!
This card literally took me 10 minutes to create.  I do love that about CAS style designing!

In following the theme, I went through my stencils and chose this Memory Box 'Texture Honey Comb' for my base and used Tim Holtz 'Wild Honey' Oxide Distress Ink and a large sponge dauber for the coloring.

For my sentiment, I die cut my 'B' using the Dee's Distinctively 'Bee Set' and the larger die from the Tutti Designs 'Happy' set.

I hope you've found inspiration in today's creation!

Cheapo Die Guest Designer ... More Fun!

Hello Everyone ... Happy Sunday!
I am so excited to once again been asked to guest design for the Cheapo Die Blog.
Their dies are so much fun to create with and very reasonably priced too!
That's always a PLUS.

I just thought this sweet Birdhouse Tag die would be so much
fun to color and create with  . . .

and, I was right!
I simply did my initial die cutting from a scrap of
white card stock then proceeded in coloring it using Spectrum
Noir alcohol markers.

My first thought was to create a 'sky' background using
Tim Holtz Distress or Oxide inks but then I happened to
lay it aside onto a scrap of black card stock and it just POPPED!
Hence the black background ... what do you think?

I started looking through my designer papers and found this
pretty plaid which I thought helped pull out all the colors I've used.

Black matting and a touch of white Nuvo crystal drops and
my card is complete!  I love having some pretty 'generic' cards in
my stash for those moments when you need to send someone
a quick note ... this will be PERFECT!!

Challenges to share in:
The Library Challenge #14 - I know why the caged bird sings!
Crafty Friends Challenge #91 - Animals or Birds
Colour Crazy Challenge #34 - ATG Coloring (I used spectrum noir alcohol markers)

If your not familiar with Cheapo Dies, you are missing out!!!
Here's a listing of their store, blog & FB links to help you get familiar:

Thanks Cheapo Dies for having me as your Guest Designer!
And thanks to all of you for stopping by today!
Here's wishing you a FABULOUS week ahead!

As always ...

Beautiful Fall Colors ...

Hello Friends!
I hope your weekend is off to a FABULOUS start!

Today I have a card to share that I created for the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge Blog.

If you follow my blog, you would have seen my post from Wednesday where I showcased products from the  Stamp On It company and I pledged I would be using the additional images I had mounted and ready to go soon.  Well this sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to showcase another one of those beautiful images.

I love how the black really draws your eye to the trees and what fun to create a watercolor panel to die cut the leaves I used for the accent panels in the sketch.

Product used:
Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks (candied apple, fossilized amber, spiced marmalade)
Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Candied AppleDistress Oxide Ink Pad - Fossilized AmberDistress Oxide Ink Pad - Spiced Marmalade
Tim Holtz Distress Ink (barn door)
Distress Ink Pad - Barn Door

Tutti Designs - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares

Tutti Designs - Cross Stitch Nesting Squares

Tattered Lace Lavish Winter Foliage (#D413)

Information on Stamp On It products can be seen on my past post HERE.

I hope you've found inspiration in today's creation!
As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!
