Boy's Birthday

Hello Friends & Happy Friday!

Last evening I thought I'd play along in a few challenges so I'd have something fun to share with you today.  With Great Grandson Charlie in the picture now, I've been getting my brain wrapped around cards that would be suitable for little boys (he's only 4 months old but you know how fast they grow!!).   So here's a fun card that satisfies a few challenges I spotted over on Paper Playful!

The main theme for my card is a birthday card and I've used a NEW stencil from Clearscraps.com so it fits the new challenge at
Next I spotted several challenges where we are to use something NEW, in which case I have used my new 'Snuffles the Dragon' die from Joanna Sheen.

A few other fun challenges I'd like to enter into are:

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration.
Wishing you all a FABULOUS weekend ahead.

It appears the weather here in NE Ohio is going to be a bit crappy
this weekend so stay safe out there!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Sisterhood of Crafters - Newly Acquired Stash

Hello dear friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over
Today's theme was chosen by Katy and she'd like to see
any of your NEWLY ACQUIRED STASH.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit of a 'die' freak so I have lots of
new dies to play with for this theme.  Here's what I've created for you today . . .

Inside view

The new dies I've used are:

Paper Roses 'Reindeer 1' (16584)
Sue Wilson Designs - Mini Expressions - Happy
I took the liberty of snipping off the 'belated' portion of this sentiment die to use on the inside atop a Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Circle' cut from black card stock.

The background was created using various shades of blue Tim Holtz distress oxide inks then added 'snow' using a white gelly roll pen.  My snow mounds are simply strips of scrap white card stock torn from end to end randomly.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!

 See you there!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Artsystamper Challenge - Thank You!

Hello my friends!

It's time for Challenge #7 over on the Artsystamper Challenge Blog where the team is showcasing digital images designed by Beverly Cole at Artsystamper Digitals!   The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month brings another Artsystamper Challenge and today's theme is
THANK YOU!
There are various ways to show your thanks to family and friends and today I've created a card to send to a dear friend of mine who is ALWAYS there for me and has been for years & years!!
I've created this entire card front digitally using Bev's images and Microsoft Word10.
Here are the digital images I've used today . . .
I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I have when designing with these beautiful digital images.  Your options are ENDLESS and it truly does make me think outside the box!

For instance, instead of creating a full black/white background panel ... I simply shrunk it down in size and used it as a 'accent'  ... this way, I could let the pond lilies take center stage.  Using the SAME lily image, I've played around with the size to create the focus of my card.  Then having this wonderful sentiment in the same set made creating my card fast, fun and beautiful!  I think my friend is going to really love it!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!
You do NOT have to used Beverly's images (of course we would love to see them if you have them) ... but you must follow the theme to qualify for the prize.  PRIZE you say . . .
YEP ... The winner of our challenges will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop.  Beverly Cole's selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-colored images for easy, last minute cards.  Why not take a moment and check out what she has in the store!!

Hop on over to the Artsystamper Digitals Challenge Blog and enter!
You will also see more inspiring designs from the Artsystamper Addicts DT ... so much fun!!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Tutti Designs - Tulip Corner

Welcome back friends!
Today I'm sharing another creation that unfortunately didn't make it onto the Hochanda TV show early in the month but I'm hoping to still inspire you to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the amazing dies available.

And, be sure to check out their latest release!  I'll be showcasing some
of those fun dies a little later!

 Here I've used the

Tutti Designs - Dies - Tulip Corner
 and the
 to create my card!
I've snipped the outer and lower portion of my Tulip Corner to
make it a little smaller and fit inside a smaller square
for my design.
One of my New Years resolutions is to use my dies in more ways than just
how it's designed ... I think this is a good start!
Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

A little FUN just for me . . .

Hello Friends!
The past month has been a whirlwind blurr for me as many of you know, and even though I've done well with keeping up with all my design team commitments, I hadn't really taken any time to just create something different & fun ...  just for me!

While talking to BFF Diane (Nellie's Nest) she told me about a challenge she was doing after seeing a card done by another BFF Leslie (Running with Scissors) and I thought I'd join in their fun.  Isn't it awesome how we can share a hobby & make such amazing new friends from all around the world!

The challenge I'm referring to is from the
and the theme is:
BUBBLE BATH DAY!

The Bubble Bath Day challenge is at Day of the Month Card Club.  They're somewhat new, this being their 11th challenge.  Each runs from the 7th till the end of the month, which will work out well for me and I hope to join in again next month.

Here's what I've created to share with you today . . .

I just started going through my stash to see what fit as far as papers & embellishments.  I knew I had this OLD (purchased at Archiver's and we know how long they've been out of business!  lol) Stampendous 'Bubble Day Set' that would work perfectly for my focus image.

After gathering the 'bubble'  background paper, the 'water' design paper, the EK Success 'Bubble' stickers and my sentiment which is from Endless Creations and was die cut using a Tutti Designs Rectangle die set, I then went in search of a SKETCH I could use as my layout.

I spotted this Sketch #175 over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 Blog via Paper Playful and thought it would work perfectly!  What do you think?

This was so much fun!  Hopefully over the next few weeks I'll take the
advice of the sentiment used on my card!  We all need to do that from time to time!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Dies R Us Challenge - Happy Birthday

Hello Friends
It's time for a new challenge over on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
But before I share my creation with you, we at DRU
have some exciting news to share ... check this out!

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in USA & Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada. Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different. Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Today our theme is:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I've created two cards using the same dies but 'mixing it up' a bit.

The dies used today are:

Serendipity Dies - Party Balloons Reverse

Memory Box - Dies - Open Studio - Wrapped Stitch Frames
My original idea was to use the deep purple (looks black doesn't it) to cut out
my frame then reinsert a few of the balloons.
But then I decided to die cut it again from a deep blue card stock for the frame and use the deep purple panel on the inside (as seen above).
This left me with bits & pieces of both so I decided to create TWO cards and as stated ... mix it up a bit!

As you can see, on the 2nd card I 'snipped' the word belated from my sentiment die which makes it a 'current' birthday wishes creation.   Isn't it fabulous when you can use one die in different ways!

I hope you will come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

  Hope to see you there!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

As always . . .

Double D - BALLOONS

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:

BALLOONS
(that could be birthday balloons, hot air balloons, water balloons ... etc)

I chose Hot Air Balloons and have used the Serendipity by IO

Serendipity Dies - Hot Air Balloons Reverse

Have you ever been up in a Hot Air Balloon?
Hubby & I did a hot air balloon ride over Cinderella's Castle
at Disneyland in FL many years ago and it was quite the experience.
Not only did you pay big $$ for the ride, but you & the others on the 'flight'
had to help in setting up the balloon and packing it all back up once you safely landed.
THAT I was not expecting ... but it was at sunrise which was cool and we had
a champagne toast when it was all done which was also pretty cool!

I used two panels of white card stock the exact same size,
the top one I die cut my balloons and the bottom one I sponged a variety
of distress ink on to give my balloons color.

I used dimensional tape around the top panel then adhered to the background
panel.  To 'set it off', I matted it with a panel of black card stock which
I also did some 'hand stitching' with a white gelly roll pen.

My sentiment is hand written because I just couldn't find what I was wanting in my stash.

We have this fabulous Elizabeth Craft 'Hot Air Balloons' die offered as the
prize to one lucky random winner.  Remember ... you gotta play to win!
