Missing my friends . . .

Welcome back and Happy Sunday Everyone!

On this VERY COLD weekend (single digits at night and teens during the day) I decided I needed to make something that would 'brighten' my day and 'warm me up'.  So when I saw the YELLOW challenge over on the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge blog, I knew that was exactly what I was looking for.   Enduring these covid striken winter months has made me really miss my local friends so I think I'll make a couple 'happy cards' and send them in the mail as a surprise.  Just to let them know I'm thinking of them.

With my friends in mind, I'd also like to join in the Time Out Challenge .  Their theme is a Friends Quote and you can use anything within the quote that inspires you.  I've gone with 'Friend' and 'Flowers'.

OH and as I began thinking about my design I remembered the Daring Cardmaker Challenge where they want you to keep it 'In The Frame'

The dies used for my framing are a set by Penny Black called 'Elegant Stitching' (51-440).  I've die cut the two largest dies to create the 'frame'.

My focus flowers come from a January 2021 Hero Arts kit called Flowers & Bees.  I've used both the stamps and dies today.  Sorry this kit is no longer available.

My sentiment are from two different companies ... sentiment in the upper left corner is a stamp from Rubbernecker called 'Good Friends' (642-13) and the sentiments in the lower right corner are from the Simon Says Stamps set called 'Friendly Flowers'.

The flowers were colored using Tombow markers and the corner embellishments are Nuvo 'dandelion yellow' crystal drops.

I think I'll write a message inside and have this ready for Mr. Postman tomorrow.  I know exactly who would really appreciate hearing from me right now ... it's been toooooo long since we've last spoken.

Have a wonderful day and please stay safe/healthy!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and as always . . .

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Hello Friends ... I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

I know all my friends on the east coast are dealing with a huge winter store today/tomorrow.  I pray you all stay safe and out of harms way! Mother Nature has seemed to be a bit angry lately!!

We still have over a foot of snow on the ground here in Ohio so what better time to just stay inside and  craft!  I'm working ahead on my design team projects but thought I'd join in a couple fun challenges today.

A couple of challenges I spotted were the Daring Cardmaker Challenge Blog where they want you to keep it 'In The Frame' and the 'Snow Much Fun' challenge over on the Crafty Gals Corner blog.

This card was created with all die cuts.  I've used the following:

Memory Box 'Delicate Pine Frame' (94031)

Jeannie's Art 'Winter Corner (10026)

Impression Obsession 'Snowball Fight' (757)

Hunkydory 'Do you want to build a snowman' (MSTONE036)
(used the sentiment only)

Moonstone Die Set - Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

On the framed image, I added on a couple birds which I die cut in red so they would POP and I added 'snow' in the background by first sponging some white craft ink over the blue background before adhering the frames then created snow using a white gelly roll pen.

For the kids and sentiment, I die cut all from white scraps of card stock (the kids were cut twice and glued together), then I die cut them each again from black scrap card stock and glued them together just offset enough to create a shadow effect.

A few other challenges to share in are:

Fun Friday (YNS) - Seasons (Winter - always fun to play in the snow!) ends 2/3
Creative Knockouts #437 - Die Cuts / Punches - ends 2/2
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - ATG - ends 2/2

Well friends, that's it for me today.  Please stay safe & healthy and once again,
those on the east coast ... I'm keeping you in my prayers ... this storm looks nasty!!

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...
