In the Winter . . .

. . . we will build a Snowman!

Hello friends!
Today I'm playing along with the new challenge over on the Back to Basics and Beyond
Challenge Blog where their theme is a sketch.  I love a good sketch ... don't you?

Here is their sketch I followed ...

I rarely do a square card so I modified it to create an A6 card but of course followed the sketch design.  I happened to spot this very old Stampin' Up stamp set called 'Sweet Seasons' and thought this little guy looked like he wanted to be inked up and colored.

So now I have my design and my image ... just need to figure out what papers I wanted to use with my image.  A great friend of mine from Illinois (Waving Hi to Bette) recently sent me some 12 x 12 papers to help me out in my huge 400 candy box order and this was one of the sheets that was left over.  And the fact that it was double sided worked perfectly.

I have used the Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Rectangles to create the frame for my image.

TUTTI-414 Dotted Nesting Rectangles

Other dies I've used are Memory Box 'Wintry Snowflakes'

Memory Box - Dies - Open Studio - Wintry Snowflakes

and Memory Box 'Frosty Border' #98171

I've used a white Gelly Roll Pen to create the snow on the solid blue panel.
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers were used for the coloring as well as Tim Holtz Distress 'Broken China' ink to sponge lightly around the image.
Dimensional tape has been used behind my focus image as well as the Sparkly Silver snowflakes to achieve added dimension.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen . . .

Happy Monday Friends!
Today I'm sharing another fun holiday card
using dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

Don't ask me why, but as I was created the following card, I just started singing Christmas Carols and specifically ... 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen . . . etc. etc.'  So that must be what this beautiful Caroler Family is sharing today!  LOL

The weather here is Ohio has changed to Fall so quickly, I'm hoping that it doesn't turn to Winter quite so fast!  But, we know it is coming and it won't be long before we are all sharing holiday joy.  THAT is what I had on my mind when creating today.  PLUS ... I've combined the Old with the New (I'm referring to the dies I've used!).  That is what I love about dies ... being able to combine them to create the scene that is in my head!!

Today I've used an older die called 'Arched Fir Branch'

TUTTI-123 Arched Fir Branch

along with a newer die called 'Caroler Family'.

TUTTI-469 Caroler Family

I began by die cutting the fir branch from a scrap of white card stock then coloring just the branch using a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker.

To add dimension to my Caroler Family, I've die cut twice from black card stock and glued the panels together.  I also used dimensional tape on the back of my Caroler Family for even more dimension.

To create the 'background' for my winter's night Christmas Caroling, I've cut a panel if white card stock just a bit smaller than my card base and sponged the upper portion using Tim Holtz broken china ink and a large sponge dauber.

I've also created a couple 'snow mounds' for the family to stand in front of by once again using some scraps of white card stock ... cutting them to width and then simply tearing them randomly across the top.

Adhere all the pieces together and VIOLA!

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Have a Purr-fect Day!

Hello All!
Today I'm sharing another fun creation using dies from the Cheapo Dies Store.

The die I've used today is 'Spooky Cat Cameo'

I've chosen to make my 'Spooky Cat' ... not quite so spooky!
Here's how my card came together ...

I first die cut my 'spooky cat cameo' from black card stock and DCWV copper metallic card stock.

I carefully snipped the cat from my black panel and glued it over top of my copper cat panel.

Then to add a touch of sparkle, I outlined the inside of the circle using Copper Stickles.

After my panel was good and dry,
I decided on my design and chose a relatively Clean & Simple
design to showcase this fabulous cat die.
The design paper I chose is old, old DCWV 'Fall Glitter Matstack'.  I simply cut it
in two angular panels and adhered it to my card base.   I liked the copper
glittery swirls ... I thought it tied in perfectly with my cat panel.

My sentiment is computer generated then die cut using Sue Wilson 'Stitched Flags'.
A few copper colored sequins was the only embellishment needed to complete my card.

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today, and, if you're not familiar with Cheapo Dies, you are missing out!!!
I think I forgot to mention that once my 'copper cat' panel was dry, I decided to die cut 2 more panels from white card stock and glue them all together for added dimension.

Here's a listing of their store, blog & FB links to help you get familiar:

Sure feels like FALL!

Hello Friends!
Other than sharing creations for the design teams I am on, I haven't had much time to create cards due to a BIG project I've been busy with but that all changes today!!  I'm happy to report that the 400 Candy Boxes I've been commissioned to make were completed yesterday!

WHEW!!!  LOL

So now, let's have some fun and create a card that satisfies a few current challenges.

Two challenges I had in mind when creating today's card are:
Addicted to CAS where the theme is Foliage

and Addicted to Stamps where the theme is Autumn Colours

To create the focus on my card I sponged various fall colored inks to the inside of a Tutti Designs Circle Die.  Next I stamped my 'very old' Inkadinkado maple leaf stamp in a 'falling' design then lastly my sentiment.  This stamp is from a Very Very old Gina K stamp set (circa 2007) called Happy Harvest.

Sisterhood of Crafters - Humorous

Hello dear friends!
Wow!  Time is sure flying by!
It's already time for a new challenge over

The theme today is a fun one ...
Humorous!

The image is one I found available on Pinterest and I
thought it went well with this Repeat Impressions 'Funny Bones'
sentiment.

I've used both the Tutti Designs 'Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangle Dies' and
the 'Dotted Nesting Rectangle Dies' to showcase these images.
A few purple prima flowers and this card is ready to post.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Hunkydory Christmas Card

Hello again ...
Today I'm also sharing a quick & fun holiday card for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I'm still in need of SEVERAL more holiday cards and the dies available at the Die R Us Store is a huge help!

I have used two die sets to create today's card and it's actually a new company to me but I love their die sets ... be sure to check them out at our STORE.  The company I'm referring to is Hunkydory and here are the sets I've used ...

Hunkydory - Moonstone Dies - Prancing Pixies

Hunkydory - Moonstone Dies - A Holly Jolly Christmas
Unfortunately, I see that both sets are out of stock at the moment but be sure to get on the Waiting List so you will be notified as soon as they are restocked.  See photo below ...
As far as putting my card together,  once I decided on the dies I wanted to use,  I was in need of using up some of the many scraps I have laying around right now on my work table so that is where it all began.

I had these strips left over from a recent project so lined them up, taped them together on the reverse side then cut the panel to the dimension required for my A6 size card background panel.

Then I began die cutting and gathering  those pieces I wanted for my scene.

As I began assembling my card, I thought it would be fun to add a little 'snow' on the bottom to coordinate with the icicle panel at the top of my card.  So I simply grabbed another strip of white card stock scraps ... cut it to length that would slide down inside my red oval decorative panel ... tore the top edge to resemble snow and slipped it down into place.

I have used 3d foam squares behind my deer to add dimension
Thermoweb - 3D Foam Squares Combo Pack - White .25

and Zots Glue Dots to adhere my cute little ribbon bow.
Thermoweb - Zots Clear Adhesive Dots - Medium 3/8

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!

Holiday Sparkle

Happy Monday Friends!
Today I'm sharing another fun holiday card
using dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

The die I've used today is 'Holiday Collage'

TUTTI-465 Holiday Collage

This is such a beautiful collage die that I wanted it to be the main focus of today's card.
To do that, I die cut from DCWV glitter paper and then created my own border on the card front.  A ruler and a marker was all that was needed to do so.

A small ribbon bow and VIOLA!
By using the glitter paper, this beautifully designed die is even more spectacular!
Check out this sparkle!
