White Christmas

Hello My Friends and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

WOW! Can you believe we are at the end of October?
Where is the time going?

Anyways ... today I've created a card for a couple of challenges I spotted on Paper Playful.  Please let me know what you think ... I appreciate your opinion!

The challenge inspiration for this card came from the

CAS on Friday Challenge #192 - Christmas
and
Crafty Catz Challenge #525 - All Dressed Up - Winter

I have had these stamps and dies for years and LOVE how they came together today!
The 'Victorian Lady' stamp is by Paper Inspirations, the sentiment is Stampin' Up and the die set is Spellbinder 'Snowflakes View' (S6-015).

A few more challenges:

Krafty Chicks Challenge - ATG - 10th Birthday Party
Love to Craft October Challenge - ATG

Well that's it for me today!  Lots to get done today and yes, we are having Trick or Treat in our neighborhood although a bit different this year.  I have the treats all put into individual snack bags and will either wear gloves or use tongs to hand each child a bag of candy.  No more reaching in and taking  the ones they like the best.  Weird but must be safe!!!

Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

Sisterhood of Crafters - Golden Days of Fall

Hello my friends!
Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by Vicki R. this time around, is:

 GOLDEN DAYS OF FALL
(Use GOLD on your projects)

I began today's card by creating this fall colored background by
sponging various yellow, gold, red TH distress inks onto a white card stock
panel.  Next I stamped my OLD SU (circa 2007) stamps using Versamark
and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder then heat set.

My gold 4x6 panel was too small to mat the entire fall panel so I cut
a portion off and simply put it behind the top part of my panel.
I used another gold 4x6 to create my sentiment panel which was die cut using
the Sue Wilson - Australian Collection - Background Die.

Sue Wilson Designs - Australian Collection - Background Die

Obviously I only used the inside small dies.  But what a fabulous
die set ... so many options!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...

On another note I wanted to mention there is a NEW challenge you need to check out!

Tutti Designs - Birdie Trio

 Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple more cards which were created for an upcoming episode (Oct 27th) on the UK Hochanda TV show.  In fact, I'll be sharing all those creations with you over the next few weeks as I'm sure some of my team mates will be doing the same.

Using the same die, today I've created a 'holiday' card as well an 'everyday' card that can be used for a variety of occasions.

This first card was designed with the holidays in mind.  By using plaid designer paper for the background and die cutting my die from both green & red card stock then doing a little fussy cutting and paper piecing.  My mat panel using the Stitched Postage die set was 'dotted' with Nuvo White Crystal Drops to mimic falling snow.  Hope you like it!

Dies used:
TUTTI-102 Birdies Trio

TUTTI-618 Stitched Postage

For my second card, I've joined together this fabulous Birdies Trio with some pretty designer paper.  I've added a touch of sparkle to each little flower and turned my sentiment square to create a diamond shape.  Something just a little bit different!

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies available. Need more inspiration?  The team has something new to share on the Tutti Designs Blog  EVERY DAY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY!

Pop in often and see for yourself ... what a talented group of designers!!

New Challenge Blog Fun!

Hello Friends ... ME again for the second time today!  LOL

I must be living under a rock because I've seen this new challenge blog here & there in Blogland but didn't realize that crafty friend Gail (ionabunny) is one of the co-owners!  So I wanted to give her a SHOUT OUT and play along in her new challenge blog adventure.  The blog name is Let's Squash It!!  Isn't that a fun name for a challenge geared at using our Embossing Folders!  LOL

Let's spread the word!

Anyhow, for their first challenge, the theme is Geometric & Metallic.
(dummy me missed the Geometric part of the theme first time around [will share that card at the end of this post] so had to go back and create again!  DUH!!!)  So here's what I have for you this afternoon . . .

I have had this Darice embossing folder for years and have only used it a couple of time (if at all!).  I have a large variety of embossing folders so I think I'll be sharing in this new challenge frequently!  LOL

After embossing my background from gold metallic card stock, I die cut this large HUGS from the Sue Wilson Designs - Perspectives - Hugs die set.  I also cut it from black card stock to create a shadow effect.  Quick ... Easy and I love the end result!

Sue Wilson Designs - Perspectives - Hugs

Here's my first (Ooopsy) card.  Although I missed the mark on the theme ... I like how it looks and it will go right into my card stash for next years craft shows (unless I need it before then lol).

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

As always . . .

Warmest Holiday Wishes ... again!

 Hello Friends!

I've been wanting to play along in the new Joy Of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge so today I finally sat down and got busy creating.  Here is their board ... I went with  Torn, Silhouette & Window.

What do you think??

Torn - Snowy mounds from white card stock and though
difficult to see, Diamond Stickles used along
the top edges for icy sparkle.

Silhouette - The Christmas tree inside the window.

Window - Sue Wilson 'Kinetics Collection - Arched Window/Door'

Sue Wilson Designs - Kinetics Collection - Arched Window/Door

I have had this Sue Wilson die for quite some time now and I must admit, this is the first time I've used it!  Yikes ... that tells me I need to join in the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge as well.

Grab our badge to display on your blog.

I have used various scraps to create today's card and believe me when I tell you I could wallpaper every room in my house (and I have a big house lol) with the amount of scraps I have in my stash!  So I'm thrilled to be able to join in the fun over on the Pixie's Snippet Challenge #389.

I'm going to keep this post short & sweet today!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
You make my day with your encouraging comments ... THANKS!

Warmest Holiday Wishes

 Happy Weekend Everyone!

WOW!  What a temperature change we've had here in NE Ohio in the last 24 hours!  Yesterday's high was close to 80 degrees and today's high is to be 49 degrees!  But it is Fall and we have to expect these crazy temperature swings!  We know what's coming soon (sshhh ... snow).

Anyways, I thought I'd quickly play along in a few challenges this morning and here's what I've come up with ... hope you like it!

For the CAS on Friday challenge #191 they are asking you to use PLAID.

So, for my CAS plaid design, I decided to die cut my Sue Wilson snowflake border die (CED3019) using a plaid panel from a 12 x 12 paper pack by Ella & Viv called 'Perfectly Plaid'.  My cute reindeer is from a Hot Off The Press stamp set called 'Winter Wishes' and I've used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks to do a little watercoloring.

Other challenges to share in:

Creative Fingers Challenge #195 - AG (ends 10/31)
Jingle Belles Rock Challenge - Not a Creature was Stirring (ends 11/4)
2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #43- AG with a critter (ends 10/25)
Creative Sketchy Girls Challenge #53 - Christmas/Winter (ends 11/15)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!

Blue Christmas

 Hello Friends!
Happy Thursday to you!!

Today I'm inspired by my friend Doni (Lime Green Giggles) to join in the fun over on the Little Red Wagon Challenge where the theme is 'Things Beginning with Blue'.  Here's what I've come up with . . .

I've gone with an old BLUE truck as my focus.  This image is from Stampendous (circa 2013) and is called 'Christmas Truck'.  My sentiment stamp is from an older SU stamp set named 'A Cardinal Christmas'.  I bet several of you have that stamp set in your stash ... it was a popular one at the time!  And, my background paper comes from a new 8x8 paper pack I've purchased from Scrapbook.com by The Paper Boutique called 'Winter Wonders'

Other challenges to play in:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #499 - Christmas
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - ATG twist/Masculine
Ike's World Challenge #137 - V is for Vehicle / AG

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Please stay safe & healthy!  Till next time . . .

Double D Challenge - OCTOBER - What does it mean to you?

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:

OCTOBER
What does it mean to you?

The design team ladies have come up with some amazing designs for your inspiration, be sure to pop over and check 'em out!  Speaking of inspiration ... here's the mood board I created ... hope it helps to inspire you!

As for me, I was inspired by the pumpkin and kitty on the bottom left corner image, as well as the plaid in the upper left corner.  Here's what I came up with . . .

LOL looks like the Fall wind must have been blowing when I added the sentiment ... seems to be a bit 'wavy' LOL!  But that's okay ... it happens (especially at my age ... eyes aren't what they used to be!)

I have had this Fall plaid designer paper for YEARS and I'm not exactly sure where it came from but more then likely (during that time period) from JoAnn's.  The fence was a last minute thought as it was a scrap laying in the bin as I walked past during the creation of this card ... I think it worked quite nicely!  Here are the dies I have used:

Memory Box - Wrapped Stitched Frames (#30117)
Cheery Lynn Designs - Fall Pumpkins (B240)
Die Versions 'Wee Petites' - Fall Leaves
Lawn Fawn - Happy Fall Line Border Die
Impression Obsession - Dies - Two Kitties
I used Nuvo 'Yellow' Crystal Drops for the kitties eyes.
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Gloss Dandlion Yellow

We have this fabulous Yvonne Creations - Autumn Leaves die offered as the prize to one lucky random winner.  Remember ... you gotta play to win!

So be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

On another note I wanted to mention there is a NEW challenge you need to check out!
It's call the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge!  Please pop on over to read all about it!

The challenge is for the Christmas Card Throwdown Blog, and their October theme is:

Once again I'm sharing a card using  The Greetery Shiplap die on the background.  I used TH oxide distress inks 'iced spruce' and 'walnut stain' for my color combination.  Reminds me of an old cabin up in the mountains somewhere.

Elizabeth Craft 'Winter Sweater'

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Dies - Winter Sweater

Marianne 'Ice Skates' (LR0247) ... very old die
Verve Stamps - Winter Mittens sentiment (no longer in business)

Tutti Designs - Birdhouse Garden

 Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards which were created for an upcoming episode (Oct 27th) on the UK Hochanda TV show.  In fact, I'll be sharing all those creations with you over the next few weeks as I'm sure some of my team mates will be doing the same.

They will be showcasing some of Tutti's older dies which is great since I had forgotten all bout them and they made some awesome designs.  Let's get started shall we!

On this first card, I've simply used medium blue card stock which I've sponged with some white craft ink to give it a cloudy appearance for my background.  Then I've die cut my birdhouse garden 3 times and glued them together for dimension.  The rectangles were used for my sentiment and blue birds were punched out (old MS punch) and popped up as an accent.  Easy Peasy!

Today I'm going to share creations using two die sets ...

TUTTI-181 Birdhouse Garden

For my second card, I've used a starry night designer paper for the background on my 'slimline' creation.  I've die cut the birdhouse garden twice from white card stock then linked them together to create a longer row of birdhouses.
I've colored the grass with an alcohol marker then die cut the individual houses from scraps of colored card stock and glued them to the white houses.  Love the variation of colors ... what do you think?

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies available. Need more inspiration?  The team has something new to share on the Tutti Designs Blog  EVERY DAY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY!
