Peace on Earth Challenge #114

Hello Friends and welcome back to my blog!

SO happy you stopped by!

Today I have a card to share for the new challenge over on the PEACE ON EARTH CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE BLOG.  Of course the theme is Anything Christmas and we hope you'll come join in the fun!

Here's a fun inspiration board we've created to help get you started ...

Inspired by the cardinals in the upper left corner, here's what I've created for today's challenge.

This background paper I found at Hobby Lobby and the stamp is a set by Northwood called 'Snowy Cardinal Birdhouse & Snowy Chickadee Birdhouse'.   I've used Tutti Designs 'Stitched Scallop Rectangle' dies on both the image and sentiment panels. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and coloring was done with Tombow markers.

PLEASE be sure to pop over to THE BLOG and check out the amazing designs our design team has created for your inspiration.  What a group of talented ladies!!  Then come join in the fun!!

Pick 3 Challenge Time #6

  Hello friends!

It's time again for a fun new challenge over on the Pick 3 Challenge Blog.

Here's this months Elements Board . . .

 Here's what I've created  . . .

The elements I've chosen today are:

Yellow - Ink Blending - Frame

I knew I wanted to use the color Yellow (since it's a color I love but rarely use) so I grabbed the 3 different yellow TH Distress Oxide inks I have and ink blended a white panel.  Then I spritzed with water for a little added texture.

I knew right away I wanted to use the Paper Rose 'Stitched Rectangle Frame' (#16679) die set (one of my all time favorites) then reached for one of the larger pieces of scrap designer paper that I thought might work and die cut it using the largest die.

Now, what to use as a focus image?  I went to my drawer of Hearty Crafts 3D Toppers and spotted this beauty in the 'Birdhouses in Winter' (HC13434) pack.  There were actually 3 toppers with these yellow & blue birds that would have worked but decided to put this one.  Put it together (using 3D tape between layers) and adhered it inside the frame.

I went to my various sets of sentiments and found I had both a blue & a yellow cut from the Pink Fresh 'Perfect Sentiments' stamp & die set.  The yellow blended too much with the background so went with the blue.  When I have sets like this I like to do them in various colors, die cut them and put them in little bags so they are ready to go when I am!

This is such a fun challenge to create for!
Half the work is already done for you once you choose your 3 elements!

Points to Remember:
  • Your Project must contain at least 3 of the 6 elements given.

Purple and Green

 Happy Friday!!

I had fun the other day creating a few birthday cards ... what do you think?

Card #1

Anyone who knows me, knows my favorite color is PURPLE.  And generally like to pair it with green/blue.  This scrap of Crafter's Companion designer paper worked perfectly to create my background since it was a 2 sided panel.  I even used other scraps to create my 'wet embossed' birthday sentiment panel and die cut leaves.   Nuvo Drops were added for an accent.

Challenges to share in:

As You Like It Challenge - Your favorite color combo & why.
I have love the color purple since I was a kid!  Typically paired with blues and/or greens.  A lot of my clothes are purple, my purse, my wallet, my bowling ball ... lol ... even the glasses on my face!

Crafty Rocket Challenge #137 - Birthday (ends 6/30)

Card #2

I had a scrap left over from THIS card and instead of putting it back in the scrap drawer I decided to quickly turn it into a card.
I recently purchased a LOT of SU card stock from a friend who has quit card making so you'll be seeing a lot more 'color' card bases vs white from me.  And I've (of course) saved those strips that were cut off to create a variety of A6 color card bases so I could reuse them on cards such as this.

Hope Your Day is Wonderful

 Hello All ...
Welcome back to my blog!

I had some fun yesterday making cards.  It didn't start out as anything specific ... but decided to watch a movie on my computer (Netflix) and use up some scraps.   I then created a background panel using scraps from a 6x6 Crafter's Companion paper pad called 'Nature's Garden' ... the Kingfisher Collection (2 sided).

 Crafter's Companion - Nature's Garden Kingfisher Collection - 12 x 12 Paper Pad

After creating this background I started looked through some of the challenges showcased over on Paper Playful to see if I could find a couple challenges that I might be able to use it in.

Happily, I found a few challenges that I kept in mind when doing the finishing touches on my card.  The first challenge is the AAA Colourful Challenge.

Double D - Tropical

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Here's today's theme:

TROPICAL

and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

Awww to be on a tropical island right now would be FABULOUS!
Will have to consult hubby about that idea!  LOL

Here's what I came up with today using some very old Darice product that has been hanging around forever!!  Nice to finally put this lovely gal to use!

This sticker was actually 'spring loaded' but I removed the spring (it was kind of wonky) and popped her up instead.  The flip flops are an old Cheery Lynn Designs die and the paper has been in my stash for awhile now too.

The frame was hanging on the extras' pegboard and I inked up a scrap of white paper and glued it to the back of the frame to create the beach/sky background for her.

Do It Again

 Happy Day All . . .

I saw a fun challenge offered over on the Addicted to CAS   blog (ends 6/26) where the theme is 'Frame' and of course, Clean & Simple design.  After looking at their DT cards I was inspired to play along.

As I was going through the various challenges offered out in blogland I looked up and on my pegboard where these fun fish from Hobby Lobby - The Paper Studio and I thought I could do something with one of them inside a frame.

 Here's what I came up with  . . .

The frame I chose to use is a die set from Paper Rose (#16679), Stitched Rectangle Frames which I die cut twice . . . once from white card stock and once from 'water' designer paper for the inside panel.  The sentiment comes from my Doni collection and is by Funny Bones by Riley & Company.

Here's a close up of this cute fish ... even has some sparkle on his body.

Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Boys to Men

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Boys to Men

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on your projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today ...

This theme was fun to create with.  The embossing folder I've used today is a very old and well loved folder since the guys in my family are all 'car people'!  That folder is the Cuttlebug folder called 'diamond plate'.

I've used black/white baker's twinc and the Paper Studio Puffy Stickers as the focus.

I do hope you'll come check out our challenge blog and play along.

Sisterhood Challenge (6/2026) - Fish / Sea Creatures

Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme today is:

Fish / Sea Creatures

I've created this fun card today by beginning with my ink sponged background.  By using a white cardstock panel the same size as my card front, I used a sky stencil and TH distress oxide ink for the sky.  With another ink color I created the water.  I sponged the same blue color to the bottom of my actual card front then tore the bottom of the sky/water panel and glued the entire panel to my card front.  This created my white frothy wave that the sharks are playing in.

The fish is one from an older Karen Burniston (#1037) Sea Animals die set and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession (Better at the Beach - DIE689-Q).

The Best Way to Tackle the Day . . .

Hello friends ... welcome back to my blog ... so glad to see you here!

I'm excited today to have been asked to Guest Design for the current challenge over on the Dragonfly Dreams Challenge Blog.   The theme today is 'Masculine' so I cam up with this fun fishing card.

The design I've used is a variation of a sketch I spotted a few months back over on the CAS on Friday blog ... they always have some fun sketches to help get me started.

My background paper comes from the Find-It (Amy Designs) Underwater 6x6 paper pack.  The fish are from a sticker pack by the Paper Studio purchased at Hobby Lobby.  And the sentiment is an old wood block stamp by the Northwood Rubber Stamp Co (circa 2008).
