Sisterhood of Crafters - The Greatest Show on Earth!

Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by Sistah Vickie, is:
The Greatest Show on Earth!
(Circus Theme)

I must admit this one had me stumped for awhile!
I didn't have any actual circus themed stamp or dies so I took the liberty of finding an image out on the internet and printing it onto a 4x6 glossy photo panel then cut a portion of it off and came up with this card.

The image has a small banner across the top so I did decide to die cut in various colors the banner dies I had available in one of my birthday die sets.  I adhered a string of baker's twine across the top then added my banner panels.  I also had these cute 'la petites' 3d stickers that I thought would add some fun & dimension.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Daisy Delight

 Hello Friends ... HAPPY FRIDAY!

Once again I had a little time this week to play with some new stencils I purchased from the Del Bello's Designs store.  This one is called Black Daisy.

On the card above, I've used Tim Holtz distress oxides to color in my stencil along with a couple Tombow markers for accents.  And, I've used the Simon Says 'Thoughtful Messages' stamp set for my sentiment.

A scrap of designer paper for the background and (old) Cheery Lynn Designs corner dies for embellishment and this pretty card is ready to brighten someone's birthday.

Using the same elements, I decided to create a couple of cards that will be very easy mailers since the stenciling was not done on an extra panel, but directly onto the card base front.

I wasn't happy with where I positioned my stencil (too far right) so I simply used a fine tip black marker and created the graduating lines on the left side.  I think it's weirdly cool how it came out!  LOL

As far as this third card ... it doesn't get much easier or quicker than this!
And, I don't know about you but I think it's just perfect for a sympathy card!

Well that's it for me today!

Going to be a very busy weekend.  I'm headed over to Pennsylvania early tomorrow morning to help several of my cousins get the farm cleaned up and ready for our 3 day family reunion NEXT weekend.  Then, leaving from there and headed to a hotel room to get cleaned up and ready to attend my High School All Classes Reunion which is that evening.  Luckily I was able to find a hotel room within walking distance of the reunion venue so that will be convenient (no worry of drinking and driving lol).

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Make The Cards Challenge #29

 Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge.
Today we are having a theme challenge ...

Well today's card was certainly a challenge for me!  Wish children grown, grandchildren grown and great grand babies too young for school yet, I had to do some rummaging around to see what I had that would fit today's theme and here's what I came up with.

I had bought this school bus designer paper along with a couple other different sheets to create a tissue box cover for a school bus driver at the local school a few years back.  I had a panel left over so that was a good start.  Then I spotted this stack of books die in with my graduations dies and the alphabet letters are by Crafty Secrets (out of business for a few years now).

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun ... here's the link for you one more time ...

Double D Challenge - Fruits and/or Vegetables

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:

Fruits & Vegetables

and here's an inspiration board I've created to help get you started . . .

Today's card was a lot of fun to create!
I chose Strawberries (my all time favorite).  I've used watercolor paper & TH 'broken china' distress oxide ink to create my background panel then had some fun coloring and putting together my branch of strawberries.  The die is from Elizabeth Craft (#1777) and coloring was done using tombow markers.

I created my sentiment using Memory Box (#98361) Upper Case Alphabet dies.

 CONFESSION ...

This was actually the first card I made because I couldn't find the die that I KNEW I BOUGHT specifically for this challenge!  LOL The strawberry background designer paper came from JoAnne's, the image is from Crafty Secrets (no longer in business) and the sentiment was computer generated then die cut using scalloped circle dies.  It doesn't get much easier than that!  LOL

Oh yea, a few Cherry Red Nuvo drops were used to embellish the sentiment panel.
VIOLA!!

The prize I'm offering up for this challenge is this fun
Frantic Stamper Die set - Fresh Fruit Icons

Remember ... you have to play to win!!

Be sure to pop over to our Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the design team ladies have created ... they are amazingly talented and I'm sure you'll find more wonderful inspiration!

Hope to see you there!

Iris Love

Happy Monday All!

Over the weekend I had fun playing with a few new products.  Today's fun shares were created with yet another stencil I purchased from Del Bello's Designs ... this one is by Sweet Poppy and of course, called IRIS .  Simple yet beautiful!

The sentiment stamps I chose to used on today's cards are from the Pretty Pink Posh company called 'Thoughtful Greetings'.

Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set

Here's another card using a single stem stenciled image.

And of course, if you prefer more than one stem of flowers on your cards, that's just as easy as stenciling as many as you want in your bouquet.  For the following card, I decided upon three so I simply repositioned my stencil and got inky.

One or Three ... this stencil made card making easy!

It's going to be another busy week so I'd better get started!
But, before I go ... here's a peek at my Springtime Iris.

It's a shame they don't last longer then they do!!

Perfectly CAS Challenge #18

  Hello Friends!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Perfectly CAS Challenge Blog.
Here's our theme for the month of August:

I had a little fun with today's card!  First I went through my paper packs of dots & stripes designer paper and found this scrap panel of tan/white striped paper so THAT was the start of my card.  Next I spotted this dimensional sticker by the Paper Studio hanging on my embellishment wall and thought that looks like dots so added him onto my card front.  Lastly, I needed a sentiment and I just happened to have an old Gina K stamp set called 'Wild About You' that had the perfect sentiment stamp for my card.  VIOLA!

I hope you will join in the challenge - just make sure you understand the rules.

For all the rules check out the 'How To Play' TAB under our challenge header.

The challenge is all about helping you stay
within 1/3 of your card to make sure it is CAS.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Two Old Bats Mid Month Reminder

Hello Friends!
OLD BAT Darlene
here to remind you we are half way through the month and you don't want to miss out on joining in the fun over on the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge Blog.

I've created a card to help inspire you  ... what do you think??

Isn't this image awesome?  I found it online and printed it onto glossy photo 4x6 paper.
My corner cobwebs & sentiment spider (although it looks like a tick to me, eeks) come from a Rubbernecker die set that I ordered last Fall when we first started this blog.

HOPE TO SEE YOU OVER AT THE TWO OLD BATS CHALLENGE!

Thanks for stopping by!

New Holiday Stencil

Hello my Friends and Happy Friday!

I placed another order with Del Bello's Designs the other day (just love these stencils) and couldn't wait to get inky to see what I could create.  The stencil I'm showcasing today is a Sweet Poppy Stencil and is called Holly Baubles

I have used a combination of Tim Holtz distress oxide inks and Tombow markers for the stencil coloring on this first card.  The sentiment was hand written and a simple red satin ribbon strip was used as embellishment.

For my second card, I went with a  non-traditional holiday color scheme.
Tim Holtz distress oxide inks and blending brushes were used for the coloring.
The sentiment die is from Sue Wilson (CEDME016).

And lastly, I simply used white craft ink onto black card stock.
I wanted to keep the image on the left side of my card base so I used a fine tip black marker to create the decorative lines on the right side and once again added a hand written sentiment.

I wasn't happy with how the lines & berries in the image did not stand out so I used a white gelly roll pen and went over them for more definition.

Craft ink may not have been the best choice but it was the only white ink I had on hand so ran with it!  LOL   It looks like a blue/gray but that's okay ... it's still pretty!

I purchased a few other stencils with this order so you'll be seeing more stenciled creations in days to come.  Please be sure to check out this (new to me) company.  Their shipping is FAST and they are very accommodating. Obviously I am loving their SWEET POPPY products as well as the Nellie's Choice stamps.  Here's their link ...Del Bello's Designs

Sisterhood of Crafters - 'Leaf' It To Chance

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by former DT member Vicky, is:

'LEAF' it to chance . . .
(Use leaves on your project.)

I spotted this scrap of designer paper in my scrap box and thought it would be perfect!  I had originally stamped this image thinking I would base my card around it but that was before I spotted the paper panel.  But, then I decided to use both so matted my stamped image with a coordinating color and added this OLD Sue Wilson die (CED5416).  As you can see, I fussy cut the lily from the top of  my sentiment.

A few little Black Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to pull my design all together.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!
