Double D Challenge - Fruits and/or Vegetables

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:
Fruits & Vegetables

and here's an inspiration board I've created to help get you started . . .

Today's card was a lot of fun to create!
I chose Strawberries (my all time favorite).  I've used watercolor paper & TH 'broken china' distress oxide ink to create my background panel then had some fun coloring and putting together my branch of strawberries.  The die is from Elizabeth Craft (#1777) and coloring was done using tombow markers.

I created my sentiment using Memory Box (#98361) Upper Case Alphabet dies.

This was actually the first card I made because I couldn't find the die that I KNEW I BOUGHT specifically for this challenge!  LOL The strawberry background designer paper came from JoAnne's, the image is from Crafty Secrets (no longer in business) and the sentiment was computer generated then die cut using scalloped circle dies.  It doesn't get much easier than that!  LOL

Oh yea, a few Cherry Red Nuvo drops were used to embellish the sentiment panel.

The prize I'm offering up for this challenge is this fun
Frantic Stamper Die set - Fresh Fruit Icons

Remember ... you have to play to win!!

Be sure to pop over to our Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the design team ladies have created ... they are amazingly talented and I'm sure you'll find more wonderful inspiration!

Hope to see you there!

As always . . .

  1. Sweet as strawberries can be and love both of your cards, reminds me I have a lovely die never used, need to keep track in future...lovely cards...xxxx

  2. Both cards are yummy sweet, love how you have designed the first one with the pretty background of blue with those plump red and mouth watering strawberries, YUM!!

  3. Wow, your die cut card is fantastically sweet and pretty! I would have been very happy with your first card, but glad you found your die. It's amazing! Perfect arrangement and beautiful coloring with your Tombows. Who can resist this inspiration board?

  4. First card is just gorgeous with those strawberries and they pop nicely against your background. Pretty shaping of it all too!
Love the image there, they always had some neat images!

  5. Gorgeous work with the E-Craft die set, Darlene. Very pretty card. I used mine earlier in the summer and it was fun making those berries. xoxo

  6. Your strawberry cards are both so beautiful and well designed!

  7. The background is perfect to show off the pretty strawberries. I am so glad I am not the only one who can't find things when I want them. Glad they turned up, but now you have two cards ready to go.

  8. That die cut card is just amazing and so sweet! Great background to compliment the strawberry dies that are colored so well. This is an amazing card.

  9. Such lovely cards Darlene. The die cut strawberries are so cute with the pretty flowers and leaves.

  10. 2 great cards! (don't you hate when you misplace that special ingredient....still looking for my Black and White striped MFT paper pack--used 1 sheet LOL) I love your first card, the strawberries vine and leaves look amazing! YUM!

  11. Both cards are delightfully sweet Dar! Great job on your water colored background on the first card. I love that die too, and haven't used it in quite a long time. I think I need to rectify that. Thanks for always inspiring us!

  12. Pure sweetness, Darlene! Love the oxide background color against the red of the strawberries. Lots of great dimension and texture too.

  13. This is so fabulous. I love all the texture and dimension, and your colors just glow. What a wonderful creation!!!!

  14. Yum! Sweet as can be, my friend. Love your strawberries bouquet! Beautifully textured, coloured and put together. And you know sometimes, all you need a a pretty background paper and you're on your way to creating a beautiful card.
