Make The Cards Challenge #22

  Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge.
Today we are having a color challenge ...

We are excited to once again welcome Helen Nile back as our guest designer!

OH what fun I had creating today's card!

I've used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in two different ways ...
* with water to create my background panel (using watercolor paper)
* without water ... just sponges to create the panel for my embellishments (using plain white cardstock.

The colors I've used for the background are:
(with water spritzing) ... Mowed Lawn, abandoned Coral, Peacock Feathers & Salty Ocean
(sponged panel) ... all the same but WITHOUT Peacock Feathers

The dies I've used for embellishments/sentiment are:

Cheery Lynn Designs - Flip Flops & Board Shorts (#B499)

Cheery Lynn Designs - Flip Flops & Board Shorts

 and Impression Obsession Sentiment (DIE690)

Impression Obsession - Dies - Better In Flip Flops

I also die cut the sentiment from black card stock and off set to create a shadow.

Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Today's theme is:

ANYTHING GOES

Awhile back I was fortunate enough to win a beautiful set of stamps from the Unity Stamps Company called 'Fear Not'.  And, as you can see, that's what I've chosen to create with today.  These days it seems I can't have enough cards of encouragement so our anything goes theme gave me the opportunity to get a few more cards added to my stash.

BELOW was my original card idea before I decided to color in the flowers with Derwent Inktense
Inktense Pencil Set - Set of 24

pencils and an artist brush.  Since my card was already completed, I wasn't sure if it would improve the card or destroy it but I figured it was worth a try.  LUCKILY it turned out okay ... Which do you like best?

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Make The Cards Challenge #21

 Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge.
Today we are having a sketch challenge ...

We are so excited to have Helen Nile as our guest designer today!

I love a sketch challenge and I've dug down deep into my 6x6 paper pads to come up with today's color scheme.  The papers are from a Prisma 6x6 pad named 'Princess' (circa 2014).

I've used the Tutti Designs Scallop Stitched Nesting Circles

TUTTI-419 Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles

and my sentiment is from Sue Wilson 'Feel Better Soon' die set.

A few white prima flowers with Nuvo peach crystal drop centers finishes off today's creation.

Here's a peek at the inside ...

Double D - Signs of Summer

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and our theme is:

 SIGNS OF SUMMER

and here's an inspiration board I've created to help get you started . . .

A definite sign of Summer is going to the beach OR maybe a Tropical Island! LOL  I still keep hounding hubby about going back [directly] to Bora Bora & Tahiti ... after Covid is behind us of course.  That is what was on my mind today while creating this card.

I've created my background using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks and large sponge daubers.  Other than the blue for the sky, I've simply used the ink that remained in the sponge daubers.  My island silhouette is by Taylored Expressions and called 'Beach Border'.

The seabirds came from an old Inkadinkado 'Coastal' stamp set (#97521).

Inkadinkado Nautical Beach Clear Stamp Set, 13pc

I punched a circle from masking medium and placed it on my white card stock before beginning my inked background.

Here's a peek at the inside of my card ...
