Double D Challenge - Flowers of the Month (Jan - June)

 Hello Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog and, it's another fun theme chosen by Diane ... also check out the amazing mood board she has designed to inspire you!

 Our theme is:
Flowers of the Month (January thru June)

January - Carnations or Snowdrops
February - Violets or Primrose
March - Daffodils~Jonquils~Narcissus
April - Daisy~Sweet Pea~Gerber Daisy
May - Lily of the Valley or Hawthorne
June - Rose or Honeysuckle

Here's the mood board Diane has created . . .

As you can see in the photo, I decided upon Lily of the Valley.
No particular reason other than I think they are so pretty and I had this fabulous Tutti Designs Lily Heart Panel die that had never been used and worked perfectly.

 TUTTI-423 Lily Heart Panel

After cutting the panel from white card stock, I die cut again (just the center section), colored it with a darker green Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and layered it over top the original panel.  A sentiment and a few butterflies and VIOLA ... ready to brighten someone's day.

Diane has this fabulous prize offered to one lucky winner.
But, you have to play to win!!

Be sure to pop over to our Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the design team ladies have created ... they are amazingly talented and I'm sure you'll find more wonderful inspiration!

Hope to see you there!

The Same but Different

Hello Dear Friends ... Happy Weekend!

Last week I shared 'Screen Door' cards (seen HERE) using some new goodies I purchased from the end of April's Adventures in Stamping convention.  Today I'm using the same images but minus the screen door stamp/die.  You can do so many quick & easy cards once you have these amazing images.  Here are a couple more cards to inspire you . . .

Inside sentiment . . .

Just by adding a few die cuts or punched elements, you can create (in the case of these last two cards) quick & easy masculine cards.  Which is typically something many of us struggle with!

The weather here in Ohio is supposed to be beautiful this weekend so I think I'll spend as much time outdoors as possible.  The sunshine is good for the soul!  Especially after the past year + that we all have been suffering through.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog ... greatly appreciated!!

Tutti Designs - I bee-lieve . . .

Hello Friends!

Over the next several weeks I will be sharing cards created using various dies from the Tutti Designs Store that were showcased in March on the UK Hochanda TV show.  The Tutti Designs dies I'm using today are Honeycomb (#552) and Cross Stitch Nesting Circles (#411).

 TUTTI-552 Honeycomb

 TUTTI-411 Cross Stitch Nesting Circles

Here is how today's card came together ...

My background was created using a honeycomb stencil and TH distress ink onto a pale yellow card stock panel.  For my mail focus, I die cut the Honeycomb die from Yellow card stock and then did my coloring of the flowers & bees.  I then die cut two panels from the Cross Stitch Nesting dies to create the background for my focus image and adhered them all together.

A sentiment was stamped onto a white stitched flag, a few Nuvo drops in the upper corner and my card is ready for an inside message and mailing.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies available. Need more inspiration?  The team has something new to share on the Tutti Designs Blog  EVERY DAY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY!

Pop in often and see for yourself ... what a talented group of designers!!

Mix It Up Challenge - LAYERS

 Hello my friends!

A new month means a new challenge over on the Mix It Up Challenge Blog.
Remember, this is a monthly Anything Goes challenge but with a fun twist that you can choose to join in on ... or not!  This month's theme is:

Anything Goes + LAYERS (3 or more)

Today I've created a card using a variety of dies.  I will list them for you below.

I actually made this card with a special friend's upcoming birthday in mind.  She too likes the color purple so that's the direction I headed for my colors.  I've not only used several layers on my overall card, but I layered my sentiment with 3 layers.

The dies I've used are:

Paper Rose 'Stitched Rectangle Frames' (#16679)
Memory Box 'Catalina Wreath' (#98189
Memory Box 'Wishes' (#94122)
Sue Wilson 'Happy' (#CEDME010)
Elizabeth Craft 'Cupcakes' (#1144)
Cheery Lynn Designs 'Decorative Corners'

I have used Mauve & Purple Sparkle Nuvo Crystal Drops for the added sparkle on the cupcake and flower centers.  The cupcake was also popped up with dimensional tape.

I do hope you'll pop over to the Mix It Up Challenge Blog and join in the fun!
You have until 6 PM EST the last day of the month to enter!
I'm so inspired by the rest of our amazing DT
and I can't wait to be inspired by YOUR project!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

It will ship to both the US and Canada. Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different. Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Merry Little Christmas - Making Spirits Bright . . .

Hello Everyone!
It's a new month and that means the start of a new monthly challenge

Last Fall I purchase this 'shiplap' die from The Greetery and I must admit, I've had SO much fun designing backgrounds for my cards.  You can color the panels just about any color and it looks good!  I had this background panel sitting in my stash and it made me think of my sister's Christmas tree from years ago ... she went through this phase where her tree was always WHITE and decorated in non traditional colors like pinks or blues or purples.  Hence today's card . . .

I hope you've enjoyed today's Christmas card and I can't wait to see what you create and share over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and wishing you a fabulous week ahead!
As always ...

'Screen Door' cards

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!

A few other goodies I purchased at the Adventures in Stamping convention last weekend here in Akron, Ohio were the following. . .  I couldn't wait to play and share with you!

This company is called Too Much Fun Rubber Stamps.  I've seen them at convention before but back then there were 100 vendors to visit & purchase from so I never invested in this brand but with Covid, this year there were only 25 vendors and I decided to explore this company a little further.

This is the Large Screen Door STAMP ...

This is the DIE that cuts out the opening on the screen door where you can add Acetate or they even had fine mesh screen material you could purchase.  Since I have acetate on hand I didn't purchase any screening (though cute idea I thought!).

Another items they had were these sheets of images which you could position behind the opening in your screen door.  They had several various packs ... this is 2 of the 6 I purchased.  You of course can also use these by themselves on a card front.  There are 2 sheets in each pack ... I also bought a pack for Fall, a couple for Christmas/Winter and one for Baby.  Here are the two I used on today's cards.

For my first two cards I measured my card to fit the stamp and created an acetate window.  The fishermen scene is attached to the back of the front cover, leaving the inside of the card totally open for your sentiment/message.

This second card I have put the image on the inside panel but there is still room across the bottom of both inside panels for your sentiment/message.

For this third card, I used my usual size card (A6) and the screen door fit perfectly (top to bottom) so I finished off the sides by creating hand drawn brick walls.

The image is adhered behind the 'window opening' on the cover of this card so your inside is totally open for your sentiment/message.

I actually stamped the door onto the front of my card base and die cut the opening.  I then stamped again onto a piece of Kraft card stock, die cut the opening, did a few outline accents with a Tombow marker, then adhered my image & acetate before adding it to the inside card front panel.

CONFESSION:
I stamped a different sentiment in the lower portion of the door but got it off center so had to do a quick fix but cutting a scrap of kraft paper a little larger than the panel on the stamp ... inked the edges, added a smaller sentiment and adhered.  Whew!  No one will know!  LOL
