New Home

Hello Friends

In the process of taking care of my mother's estate, of course one of the steps now is dealing with the sale of her house.  That means I'm now talking with a auctioneer (to sell any remaining household items that my siblings & I do not want) & realtor to get the paperwork taken care of so the house can be listed.  Within this process the realtor asked me what I did for a living ... I told her what I did when I was working and that now being retired I 'make greeting cards'.  THIS of course lead to the question ... could you make me some Thank You cards with houses on them??  LOL

So I have a few samples to show her when we next meet but in the process of designing something relatively simple for easy mailing I was left with a few extra die cuts and decided to make a few 'New Home' cards for my sale box.  What do you think??

I've created the sky backgrounds then tore a dark olive scrap of card stock for the grassy area.  On the first card I've used TH distress inks & a sponge dauber on regular white card stock to create the background.  But for the second card, I've used TH OXIDE distress inks onto watercolor paper & water.

Digging into my dies I've used a Memory Box House and Impressions Obsession Fences.  The sentiment is a die set by Frantic Stamper and the blue bird is an old Martha Stewart punch.

I've left them blank inside so the person sending them can add their own message.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Deepest Sympathy

Hello sweet friends and Happy Thursday!
WOW can you believe we are at the end of February already?
In some ways it seems to have flown by but in other ways this cold weather just seems to keep dragging on!  LOL   COME ON SPRINGTIME!

OH and don't forget to turn your clocks AHEAD on MARCH 8th!!

So ... today I have a card to share that I created yesterday after seeing the new post over on Stamp Simply by designer Jill ... you can read all about Jill's card here.

Even though I still want to create another card using the entire technique Jill used (love the bold color palette she used), I decided to go with softer tones for my sympathy card today.

After sponging my background panel, I stamped an OLD Memory Box stamp
with VersaMark then embossed it with Black Embossing Powder.
A few touches of White Gloss Nuvo Drops here and there are my only embellishment
and I've used Yellow Nuvo drops for the center of my dogwood branch.

Since my mojo seems to be taking a winter hiatus, it's wonderful to have so
many of you crafty ladies out there to draw inspiration from!

Okay ... guess I'd better stop playing around and get some work done!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Patterned Paper

Hello Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on

The theme today is:

PATTERNED PAPER

Now, I know we ALL have lots of pretty patterned paper
so I'm excited to see what you create ... I've dipped into some of my
older (had to blow the dust off of it lol) Graphic45 paper for today's creation.

The paper is from the Botanical Tea Paper Pack and I've used
the reverse side (scrap) for my sentiment panel.

I actually had this Tutti Designs 'Spring Gate' cut and sitting on my table
just begging to be used on a card ... well today's the day!

TUTTI-264 Spring Gate

The Heartfelt bird was also 'hanging around' so I thought he
would be perfect perched on the fence.  Add in a few
butterflies and VIOLA!!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!

 See you there!

Tutti Designs - Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

Welcome back friends!
Today I'm  sharing a creation using TWO more of the new dies from our December 2019 release.  I encourage you to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all the fabulous dies available.

These two new fun dies brought back a lot of happy memories for me!
I have two sisters, one older and one younger and we spent many hours doing these two things ... skipping rope & hula hooping (I'd probably hurt myself if I tried this today! lol)

Anyways, by die cutting both dies in silhouette form, this card came together VERY QUICKLY!

The dies used are:

 TUTTI-608 Hula Girl

 TUTTI-610 Jumping Rope

Can you see the intricate detail in these dies?  Beautiful!
And, they are perfect for paper piecing or coloring also ... fun, fun!

I simply used light blue paper for the background sky and tore a scrap of green card stock to create the 'grass'.  A few little butterflies and VIOLA!

I've also used Tutti Designs dies for my sentiment . . .

Happy (used the smaller die on the front)

and the larger Birthday on the inside of my card.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Double D Challenge - HELLO

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:

HELLO

The design team ladies have come up with some amazing designs for your inspiration, be sure to pop over and check 'em out!  Speaking of inspiration ... here's the mood board I created ... hope it helps to inspire you!

Here's what I came up with ...

It's always nice to have a few note cards in your stash
for those times when you just have the need to
drop someone a note!  We all love getting a surprise in the mail
and I think this pretty card will work perfectly!

I ended up cutting a strip off my designer paper in order for
it to fit my A6 card front proper so I decided to grab one of my punches
and make a decorative panel for the inside ... what do you think?

Still leaves plenty of room for message ... I really need to put more effort
into the inside of my cards.  I try at the start of every year but
then I get busy and hurried so the insides end up with just a sentiment stamped
and nothing more.  Maybe I can do better this year!

For my card front I have used designer paper by Mintay called 'Paradise',
I've used a stamp set by Pink & Main and dies from
Scrap Man called 'Dill'
ScrapMan - Dies - Dill

and Spellbinder 'Venise Lace' Hemstitch Rectangles.

We have this fabulous Serendipity - Hello die offered as the
prize to one lucky random winner.  Remember ... you gotta play to win!

Serendipity Dies - Hello

Artsystamper Challenge Time - Hot Drinks

Hello my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Artsystamper Challenge Blog where the team is showcasing digital images designed by Beverly Cole at Artsystamper Digitals!   The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month brings another Artsystamper Challenge and today's theme is

 Hot Drinks

I love visiting friends and just chatting over a hot beverage
especially this time of year when the weather is so crappy!  LOL
A nice cup of tea or hot chocolate always tastes better when shared with a friend!

Here are the Artsystamper digitals I've used today ...

Lily's Tea Party (Tea Cup & Saucer)

Aster Garden Paper Pack (Background & Purple Asters)

Sweet Santa (Hot Chocolate)

Sketched Spring Blossoms (Sentiment)

It's amazing how many different sets you can pull from and create something totally different then what the original set is designed around.

I printed my image onto a 5x8 white card stock panel but had the actual image set to
a custom size of 6 x 4.25 to fit my A6 size card front and room for matting.  I felt the upper right corner was a little bare so I die cut a small corner die and felt that was the perfect element to add a touch of dimension of my digital design.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!
You do NOT have to used Beverly's images (of course we would love to see them if you have them) ... but you must follow the theme to qualify for the prize.  PRIZE you say . . .
YEP ... The winner of our challenges will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop.  Beverly Cole's selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-colored images for easy, last minute cards.  Why not take a moment and check out what she has in the store!!

Tutti Designs - Drummer

Welcome back friends!
Today I'm sharing a creation using dies from various releases at the Tutti Designs Store.  When I saw this cute image, I couldn't help but think of my mother in law who always said my husband 'lead his life to the beat of a different drum' LOL.   It's only taken me 25 years to figure out what she was talking about ... he is unique and AMAZING!!

The dies I have used on today's card are:

TUTTI-605 Drummer

TUTTI-339 Musical Stave

A few steps in the process of creating my card . . .
I decided I wanted to showcase the drummer AND A FRIEND pretending they were in a marching band so I cut my die from white card stock twice and did a little snipping to remove the drum & sticks from the FRIEND.

Next I proceeded in coloring my marchers and popped up a second drum for dimension.  Next, was to choose my background color scheme.  I always think of a marching band in the various parades and they seem to be at Patriotic times of the year so I went with red/white & blue for my base.

I don't know about you, but I can hear that marching beat of the drum just looking at this card!  LOL
Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.
