Think Spring

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is 'Think Spring'.  Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Today's card shows the combination of the two techniques and I LOVE how it turned out ... hope you do too!

For the background I embossed a light blue panel with a Darice 'Cloudy Sky' embossing folder then sponged over the clouds with a finger dauber and white craft ink.  My spray of spring flowers is a stamp from Hero Arts and I've colored it using Tombow markers.

For my heat embossing, I've die cut three panels of this pretty Frantic Stamper 'Spring' die from white card stock ... glued two together for dimension then on the third panel I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed using Lindy's 'morning glory' embossing powder.

With Sympathy

 Hello friends!

Since I was having a difficult time falling asleep last night, I decided to get back up and go into the crafting cave and work on a few cards.  My stock of sympathy cards has depleted down to one card so I thought it might be a good time to get a few more at least started.

I have had several 3D embossing folders in my stash for quite some time now and thought maybe that would make for a quick yet comforting card.  I chose this old Spellbinder M-Bossabilities ES-009 'Reversible' Embossing Folder for my background.  I don't think they even make these anymore ... you might find a few on eBay or Amazon possibly.

I then used the Spellbinder Labels 18 Nestabilities for my sentiment center.
Here's the 2nd card I made using the same products but made it more masculine using the blue.

Well that's it for me.  It's after 1 AM ... I hear the freezing rain hitting
the windows so that's my cue I'd better get back up to bed and try to get some rest.

Make The Cards Challenge #49

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Color challenge for you . . .

For today's card I chose to use a couple shades of green.

First I used the lime green card stock which I embossed with a Embossalicious 'Petite Dots' embossing folder before die cutting my Memory Box 'Dizzy Butterflies' (99445).  I also die cut the butterfly die using a darker shade of green card stock.

I positioned the darker butterfly panel inside the opening of the lime green panel then paper pieced the other lime green pieces from the first cut to make sure just the outline of the butterflies were front & center.

Various 'Pops of Color' from Scrapbook.com were used to fill in
the dots & flowers.
