Make The Cards Challenge #58

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Technique challenge for you . . .

Today, I chose to do a Double Z fold card for you!

I'm still working at using OLD stash so the designer paper I've used today is once again from the Crafty Secrets (no longer in business) Earthy paper pad.

The measurements for my card are as follows:

Ivory Card Stock base back card is 4 1/4" x 11", scored on 11" side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"
Ivory Card Stock inside fold panel is 3 3/4" x 9 3/4", scored on 9 3/4" side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

Decorative panel measurements:
Back panels are 4" x 5 1/4" and (2) at 4" x 2 1/2"
Inside fold panels are 3 5/8" x 4" and (1) at 3 5/8" x 2 1/2"

I then die cut a square using Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares' die set and the 'Happy' and 'Birthday' are also Tutti Design dies (I've used the larger of the two in the set).  The sentiment was die cut using a scrap from the decorative designer paper.

Make The Cards Challenge #57

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Color challenge for you . . .

I've been playing with some OLD stash recently and came up with this color combination using designer paper from a company that is no longer in business (and I have a LOT of their stuff since I was on their DT).  I'm referring to Crafty Secrets and this 2 sided paper comes from their 'Earthy' paper pad.

I've used some medium blue card stock to mat my sentiment (which is stamped in TH distress oxide 'chipped sapphire' ink) and punch out a few flowers using old Martha Stewart punches.  I've also used a Tombow marker (#526) to add faux stitching around the lower panel.  Nuvo drops were used for flower centers and embellishments.

Make The Cards Challenge #56

Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Theme challenge for you . . .

A lot of ladies don't like making masculine cards but for some reason I really do!  Maybe because of the 'challenge' it can be ... but today, this card came together quickly and I'm very happy with the outcome.

I decided to create a Slimline style since I wanted to use this Tim Holtz 'Birch Layering Stencil' for my background.  I've used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide 'Walnut Stain' for my inking today.

The Elk stamp is a very old (circa 2006) SU stamp and I've used the Tutti Designs 'Cross Stitched Layering Rectangle' die set for the base of my image.  A touch of ribbon and a sentiment ... VIOLA my card is ready to go.

Make The Cards Challenge #55

Welcome Back Friends!

I have so many beautiful designer papers, it was difficult to decide which direction to go in today!  But I decided on using this beautiful papers are from the P13 'Till we meet again' 6x6 designer pad

  P13 - Till We Meet Again Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad

It just so happened I needed another DT card using layers so using the same basic idea, I got both cards done at the same time.  What I didn't use on the one, I used on the other.  Worked out GREAT!

The Tutti Designs 'Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangle' dies were used to create the frames. And,  I used a scrap of the designer paper on the focus rectangle panel before adding my Pink Fresh sentiment.

I'm very happy with how this card came together and I'm sure whom ever receives it for their birthday will like it too!  Here's another peek at my creation . . .

Make The Cards Challenge #54

 Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Sketch challenge for you . . .

I love working with a sketch and this is a FABULOUS one!
I've been trying to work with more of my older designer paper (of which I have a LOT of!) so today I had an older Crafty Secrets (no longer in business) paper pad laying on the desk to work with so that is what I've used for my lower angle panel.

I have a stack of white rectangular panels already die cut from various designed dies that I use for the inside of my cards so I simply grabbed one of those to use for my focus panel.  I punched the corners then matted it and continued to punch those corners to match.  I wasn't sure what my focus was going to be then I thought an outdoor scene might be nice to reached into my Stampscapes stamps and pulled out this one.  I then colored it using my Prisma pencils.

A solid panel for the sentiment strip hid too much of my image so I decided upon using a strip of vellum (which I rarely do! ... don't ask me why!) and added my die cut sentiment which was cut from the same card stock as the matting panel to the right side.

Stampendous Gem Stickers were used for the embellishment.

Make The Cards Challenge #53

Welcome Back Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the  Make The Cards Challenge Blog.
Today we have a Technique challenge for you . . .

I LOVE creating ink blended background panels, so this card was a lot of fun to create.  I simply cut my card stock panel to the size I needed then started sponging various colors of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks using large sponge daubers.

I had an idea of how I wanted to put a bolder sentiment on the front, so was sure to keep the inside area a little lighter than the outside area.  Once I was happy with my colors, I spritzed the entire panel with water then blotted them off to create the white spots (I love doing that ... I think it looks so cool! lol).

Here's a peek at the inside . . .

For the sentiment on the card front, I have used a stamp set by Honey Bee called 'Sending You Sentiment'  (retiring soon!)

Sending You Sentiments | 4x8 Stamp Set | RETIRING!

and for the inside of the card I used a combination of the Birthday from a Simon Says Stamp set called 'Thoughtful Messages' and the Wishes comes from that same Honey Bee set.
