Hello friends!
OMG have you been watching any of the Winter Olympics??
I actually stayed up until 12:30 last night so I could watch the finals in the men's figure skating ... and SO glad I did. Those guys are amazing and Nathan Chen DID IT! I was hoping he would ... he so deserved the Gold metal!
Anyways, today I decided to play along in the new Color Throwdown Challenge ... here's their color board for today . . .
Even though I knew I could create my own background using my alcohol inks, I was running out of time so decided to go with one of the beautiful panels in my new Craft Consortium 'Ink Drops - Ocean' paper pack I recently purchased from Stamp Simply.
This particular panel had all the necessary colors and since I was in need of a masculine birthday card, that is where I picked up my extra GOLD ... in this OLD (but fabulous) Poppystamps sentiment die called 'Jumbled Happy Birthday', which I die cut from Gold Metallic paper.
I placed my sentiment at an angle so I could also play along in the fun new challenge over on the Die Cut Diva's blog where the theme is 'Angle It'.
One more challenge to share in with my card is the 'Sparkle and Shine' challenge over on Seize the Birthday blog. Thanks Cathy for bringing this to my attention!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you're having a wonderful week!
As always . . .
Great card! Love how easy it is to make spectacular cards with Patterned Papers.
ReplyDeleteOh this is gorgeous Darlene! That is my idea of messing around with alcohol inks - no cleaning up required!! I like the way you positioned your sentiment at an angle for a really dynamic look. Vicky x
