Hello Friends ... ME again for the second time today! LOL
I must be living under a rock because I've seen this new challenge blog here & there in Blogland but didn't realize that crafty friend Gail (ionabunny) is one of the co-owners! So I wanted to give her a SHOUT OUT and play along in her new challenge blog adventure. The blog name is Let's Squash It!! Isn't that a fun name for a challenge geared at using our Embossing Folders! LOL
Anyhow, for their first challenge, the theme is Geometric & Metallic.
(dummy me missed the Geometric part of the theme first time around [will share that card at the end of this post] so had to go back and create again! DUH!!!) So here's what I have for you this afternoon . . .
I have had this Darice embossing folder for years and have only used it a couple of time (if at all!). I have a large variety of embossing folders so I think I'll be sharing in this new challenge frequently! LOL
After embossing my background from gold metallic card stock, I die cut this large HUGS from the Sue Wilson Designs - Perspectives - Hugs die set. I also cut it from black card stock to create a shadow effect. Quick ... Easy and I love the end result!
Here's my first (Ooopsy) card. Although I missed the mark on the theme ... I like how it looks and it will go right into my card stash for next years craft shows (unless I need it before then lol).
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
As always . . .
Two fabulous cards, Darlene! Well done for spotting the double theme in the nick of time and creating card #2. Both are stunning and I'm desperate to get my hands on that folder you used for your first creation. Thanks so much for playing at Let's Squash It, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene, awesome cards. Love the gold one. That big hugs is just so cool. I always wondered how those dies looked in the real. I love your silver card as well. That flower background is amazing. Might have to try and find that one LOL. Glad you shared it as well and spotted the double theme. Thanks for your kind words and for joining the fun at Let's Squash It! Hugz
ReplyDeleteI just heard about this challenge yesterday, so I've been under a rock, too. You did great on your hugs card. Lots of beautiful gold and the geometric pattern. Your oopsie card is absolutely gorgeous! It's definitely a keeper!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that, and I love how you give them a shadow the black looks great with the gold. I do love your oopsy card too, the vellum 25 looks great with that lovely embossing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful foiled cards. Both so elegant.
