Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and today's theme is:
BALLOONS
(that could be birthday balloons, hot air balloons, water balloons ... etc)
I chose Hot Air Balloons and have used the Serendipity by IO
Have you ever been up in a Hot Air Balloon?
Hubby & I did a hot air balloon ride over Cinderella's Castle
at Disneyland in FL many years ago and it was quite the experience.
Not only did you pay big $$ for the ride, but you & the others on the 'flight'
had to help in setting up the balloon and packing it all back up once you safely landed.
THAT I was not expecting ... but it was at sunrise which was cool and we had
a champagne toast when it was all done which was also pretty cool!
I used two panels of white card stock the exact same size,
the top one I die cut my balloons and the bottom one I sponged a variety
of distress ink on to give my balloons color.
I used dimensional tape around the top panel then adhered to the background
panel. To 'set it off', I matted it with a panel of black card stock which
I also did some 'hand stitching' with a white gelly roll pen.
My sentiment is hand written because I just couldn't find what I was wanting in my stash.
We have this fabulous Elizabeth Craft 'Hot Air Balloons' die offered as the
prize to one lucky random winner. Remember ... you gotta play to win!
So be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Wow!! Such fabulous CAS! Love your Hot Air Balloon and the rainbow panel behind looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour rainbow colored balloons are wonderful Darlene! I went up in a hot air balloon when I was a little girl with my grandparent at our town's bicentennial celebration. It was exhilarating for me at such a young age. Happy memories....
ReplyDeleteGreat card and so colourful.x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this card with all the beautiful colors behind the hot air balloons...what a fabulous die and and what a fabulous idea to use all those pretty colors! Never have been in a hot air balloon, am a bit scared of heights, but it does sound awesome!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Darlene! xoxo
ReplyDeleteFabulous! What an awesome die cut panel...I love the multi colored background you created.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card. I love it when the die does all the work. Fun sentiment too, but now that song is running through my head.
ReplyDeletethis is so cool, I love your colored background and your handwriting is terrific, who needs stamps :)
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a hot air balloon rid that I had some years ago. All of the colorful balloons in the sky is such a fantastic sight to see. You have captured it so well.
ReplyDeleteWow, Darlene! This is fantastic! What a great die and you used it so beautifully with your sponged inks and dimension. I love it! Funny how this challenge sneaked up on me since I wasn't planning for it. I've never ridden in a hot air balloon and do not imagine I ever will. I'm sure it would be a surreal experience, but perhaps a little too dicey for me.
ReplyDeleteVery nice card! Perfect baloons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Thanks for joining us at Unicorn. Have a nice day,.. Succes!!

ReplyDeleteWOW, this is gorgeous. I LOVE that die. Yours is the best one this time, my dear. It's simply fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a dreamy and beautiful, serene card! I can visualize myself floating among those billowy little clouds on a nice summer day! AHhhhh, yes! Fabulous card with wonderful coloring! The only problem is you'd never get me into one of those hot air balloons LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, you have good handwriting. And BALLS! Kudos to you. To celebrate you, I'm going to handwrite on the back of the wedding card I am making. Not enough courage for the front, though, lol. Love your balloons and that story. Your card front reminds me of those shows in New Mexico. xoxo
