Double D - Baby It's Cold Outside

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Team Darlene is hosting today and the theme is:

Baby It's Cold Outside  (WINTER)

Here's the inspiration board I have created to help you get started . .
So many fun winter elements to be inspired by, but the sled & mittens caught my eye so that is the direction I took for today's creation ... what do you think??

I'm blessed with some fabulous winter type dies so of course I just had to rummage through and see what I could come up with!  I've had this sled die since last winter and hadn't used it yet so that was my first pick.  Plus, I knew I wanted to use the 'Brrr' sentiment.  Next I had to decide did I want to use mittens or a cup of hot chocolate in my design.  After choosing my background paper from a new Carta Bella paper pack called 'Cabin Fever', I decided on the mittens.
The dies I've used are Elizabeth Craft  'Sled'  #1243, Elizabeth Craft 'Brrr' #1228 and Memory Box 'Precious Mittens' #98663.

The sentiment has been 'stacked' using THREE cuts ... 2 blue & 1 white.  Crystal Stickles has been added to the snowflakes for sparkle and the snowflakes were stamped on the red mittens with a touch of Crystal Stickles in the middle also.

Please be sure to pop over to see the amazing creations the ladies
have made to inspire you today!
I'm always so impressed with these ladies!!!
They leave me in awe with each & every challenge theme!

Oh boy, a red snow sled. That brings back memories of being you and playing in the snow until your hands and feet were frozen. What a great time that was. That BRRR on the bottom says it all. Great card Darlene.

Oh, gosh, I love everything about this! The sled is fantastic, and the mittens and the "brrrr"... well all of it. Love how you added the gold cord on the sled, and the wood grain paper is perfect. You were very inspired!

Your sled is amazing and it pairs nicely with the sentiment and mittens. Thanks for sharing at 613 Avenue Create.

The wood background is perfect for the sled. Like others this brings back memories.. of street sledding for me. I know you are familiar with Western Pa. My little home town Washington had many hills that were perfect for sledding. Every year the city would block of certain streets for sledding which meant that you could go all the way down a steep hill go thru the intersection and half way up the other side of the hill. Talk about adrenalin rush, but I did not know about adrenalin in the 50's. Wonderful mood board and card.

Oh Darlene, this is just fabulous, that sled doesn't even look like it is a die cut, that is so cool, love the mittens with it and those sweet poinsettias. All looks great against the wood background!

Fabulous! Your card makes me nostalgic for our old family cabin in the Sierra Mountains in California/Nevada. The amount of detail on this card is very impressive and I love how the rustic wood background pulls everything together beautifully.
