Take Time To Smell The Flowers . . .

SUCH GOOD ADVICE!

Hello friends!
Today I'm sharing a creation I made for the current

I chose to do both ... the sketch and in spring colors/flowers.

Another nice thing was I was able to use up more scraps
from the pile!  Other than the yellow card stock ... didn't have enough
of that so now I have added yellow to my paper scraps!  LOL

This was a fun sketch and I like the happy springtime colors ... made me smile!
And I hope who ever receives this card finds a smile in it too!!

Sympathy

WOW another week coming to a quick closing!
Where is the time going?

I'm away from my crafting cave today ... finally able to get my arm up on the steering wheel after my bought with tendinitis so I'm headed to my sister's shop for some pampering. But while crafting yesterday I made this quick sympathy card that I thought I could share with you today.

I stamped this Penny Black 'Letters & Flowers' stamp for a DT project but then decided to use something else instead.  Of course this is how I end up with all these bits & pieces on my work station  ...  so, as not to add to the pile, I decided to use it on a card for the sale box and sympathy is always one of my most requested after birthday cards.

The background paper is from an OLD DCWV paper pack called 'La Creme'
and my sympathy die cut is from Tutti Designs.

On my stamped image, I simply softened the starkness of the black/white by sponging a little ink ... actually the ink that was left in one of my sponge daubers ... can't even tell you what the color is ... sorry!  LOL

INSIDE
I hope you're having a good day!  I always look forward to my time with my sister and I plan on linking up for lunch with my 87 year old Mom too.  Just so happens she has a hair appointment with my sister later in the afternoon so that works out quite nicely!

Pretty in Pink

Hello my friends!
After a week of no crafting due to an arm/shoulder issue,
I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and decided to play
along in this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge to get
my mojo started and here's their sketch ...

This is what I came up with ... what do you think?

It's a simple design but a classic that I will use over & over again I think!
I wanted to play around with stamping also (something I don't do enough of these days) so reached for one of my Penny Black floral stamp sets and got busy.  I've used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for my coloring medium.

After coloring, I added a few highlights with a white gelly roll pen.

I had intended to make a nice ribbon bow as shown in the sketch but then decided on just a simple BoBunny butterfly.  The ribbon is so pretty and is from a Really Reasonable Ribbon pack.

Blue Bird of Happiness

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Today I'm sharing a creation which focuses on another die from the Tutti Designs February Release, now available at the Tutti Designs Store ... as well as a few other Tutti Design dies used for accent.

The dies I have used today are:

from our September 2016 Release ... #171 Bamboo Screen

No automatic alt text available.
from our November 2016 Release ... #217 Nesting Stitched Rectangles
No automatic alt text available.
and from the February 2017 Release ... #278 Crane

No automatic alt text available.
After die cutting the bamboo screen from a tan colored card stock,
I decided to add a few touches of brown and green for a
more realistic appearance.

Once I die cut the Crane from a scrap of teal with gold foil flowers designer paper.
Also, I realized the bamboo screen was going to be too tall so simply snipped it in half and overlaid the two panels.
Using dimensional tape on the foreground panel.  OH ... and my sentiment panel was printed from the internet then die cut using one of the Nesting Stitched Rectangle Dies and sponging the edges.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

Sisterhood of Crafters - LACE

Hello Everyone!
Time again for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Today Anna is our hostess and she's chosen
a theme that is near & dear to my heart . . .

LACE
There's nothing I enjoy more than seeing beautiful
vintage lace used on a creation.  Whether it is in dressmaking or cardmaking
it is ALWAYS a gorgeous element!

I have had this vintage lace background paper in my stash of designer paper for probably close to 10 years.  Yes, I guess you might say I was hoarding it but more than likely after all this time I just totally forgot I had it!  LOL

My lace side panel was created with the Joanna Sheen 'Harriet Lace Edger' die then colored using Tim Holtz 'picked raspberry' distress ink.  My flowers are off cuts from a demo I did for Heartfelt Creations at the Adventures in Stamping show a few years ago.  I have SEVERAL of these sorted out on a tray and from time to time grab a few and ink them up to match a project I'm working on ... today's was one of those days!

Nuvo white crystal drops for the flower centers and a stem cut from a scrap of green designer paper using the Memory Box 'climbing vine' die and my card was nearly complete.  Just needed to decide on a sentiment and I thought this would make a beautiful birthday card for a lady friend.  You might have noticed also that I used a pair of flat tweezers to 'cup' the leaves a touch for a more life like appearance.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun and show us your 'lace' creation.  You have until April 2nd to get your card added to the challenge.  Hope to see you there and Good Luck!

Thanks for stopping by today
and as always . . .

Beautiful Bonsai

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Today I'm sharing a creation using two of the new February Release Oriental dies available at the Tutti Designs Store as well as the Nesting Stitched Rectangle dies ... a set I reach for over and over again!

Dies I have used on today's creation are:

No automatic alt text available.

No automatic alt text available.

No automatic alt text available.
After die cutting my Bonsai from white card stock (actually die cut it 4 times), I then colored the 'trunk' portion using Spectrum Noir alcohol marker #EB5. Extra cuts were used for stacking to create dimension.

Next I die cut just the top portion of my Bonsai tree from a scrap piece of designer paper that has a  velvet texture on the leaves.

Snipped off any 'trunk/branch' portions and adhere to my white tree panel.

I also die cut the base portion of my die from gold foil paper and adhered to the white panel.

My background papers are from a very old DCWV paper pack and to add a little extra design behind my Bonsai focus panel, I die cut the Lotus Flower die twice and place in opposite corners.  This Lotus Flower die is so beautiful on it's own but love when I can utilize a die in more than just one way ... as I've done today!

The little gold rectangle pieces are once again from the Tutti Designs 'Oriental Screen' die that I used on my card HERE.  I thought they were a nice accent.
I've used three of the rectangle stitched rectangles today ... two for the background panels for the Bonsai and one of the smaller ones to die cut the oriental symbol I printed from the internet.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

A Tisket ... A Tasket ...

Hello All!
It's time for a new inspiration card designed for
using dies from the Dies R Us Store!

Did you know the First Day of Spring in Monday??
And, Easter will be right around the corner, so I have a fun
creation to share that will get you in the Springtime/Easter mood!

The color on this card is actually more of a rosy pink but for some reason my camera decided to make it more of an orangey/peach color... uugh!

Anyways, today I'm using up some oldies but goodies!  Which includes some old Stampin' Up papers,  dies I've never used before as well as  ribbon I've had in my stash from Really Reasonable Ribbon and have never tied a bow with until today!  Oh yea ... and the Impression Obsession bunny (DIE168) was laying on my worktable so he got included in today's design too.

Tutti Designs - Dies - Easter Flower Basket

After die cutting my Tutti Easter Flower Basket die, I colored it using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  It's a beautiful open weave die but I wanted to make the basket portion solid so the background papers didn't show through.  To do this I simply used a scrap of white card stock and sponged some color onto it using Tim Holtz 'Antique Linen' & 'Brushed Corduroy'.  Then I attached my basket to the sponged panel and fussy cut around it.  Viola!

The left side background panel is actually the reverse side of the SU design paper I used for the background.  Instead of just leaving the panel as a straight cut, I decided to use the Sue Wilson 'Gemini Die ' Phoenix' to cut along the one edge to dress it up a bit.

It's Fussy and Fancy Challenge Time!

Hello Everyone!
It's time once again for a new challenge over at the
 Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge
This new challenge is hosted by Annie and the theme she has chosen is

SPRINGTIME!

I haven't played with these Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies for a long time
and today's theme just called out for me to get inky!

After die cutting my images, I used finger daubers and Tim Holtz inks to color
my flowers, leaves & birds.  The flowers have been 'doubled up' for added
dimension and by doing a little shaping with a stylus, my flowers, leaves
and birds are more lifelike ... not just flat!  LOVE THAT!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today and are inspired to come join in our challenge.  And, for more awesome inspiration be sure to pop over and see what my team mates have created ... OMG, so much talent on this team!!
